Hailey and I giggled after the door was shut
" He is one hot fucker " Hailey said
" Ha and He was checking you out girlfriend " I say to her

We talked most of the evening about everything that has happened in the past few days
It was now 11 pm and I needed to get to bed , Hailey left an Now I was home alone it was quite now

I slipped under the covers then sent a text to Sal and Logan

I went to sleep with a smile on my face again

Bang Bang Bang Bang

What the holy heck is that noise I thought as I slowly woke up
Where is it coming from , I flipped my covers off me grabbed my phone to check the time it was 2:30 am
The banging continues I get up and walk out of my bedroom down the hallway to the living room

You could see my door vibrating from the banging
I walked quietly to the door looking through the peep hole and see Dillion standing there he looked drunk as hell

Do I open the door or keep it shut and hope he leaves

He kept banging on the door , I hear another voice in the hallway yelling at Dillion to shut the fuck up

The banging stopped and I didn't see Dillion anymore

Thank the fuck he stopped

I padded back down the hallway to bed
I crawled in and hoped that I could fall asleep and get a few more hours

I did fall back asleep and it seemed all to soon the alarm when off and I had to get up
Peeling myself out of bed I went to the bathroom to shower and then get ready

30 minutes later I was in Blue scrubs and ready
I went to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee
When I got a text from Luther saying he was downstairs with a big cup of coffee and breakfast for me .
I then turned and got my bag and headed down after I locked up

" Morning Luther "
" Morning Riley put your bag in the back "
" Alright add least your vehicle is easier for me to get in out of than Sullys"

" Ha I bet it is Shorty "

" Hush "

Luther had a cup of coffee and a bacon egg biscuit for me

I wasn't lady like when I ate it basically gobbling it down

" Such Manners" Luther chuckles
" You know it "

We arrived at the hospital in about 10 minutes he parked and we sat for a few minutes
And when I went to get out I yawned

" You sleep good last night "

" No Dillion came to my door at 2:30 this morning banging on it until my neighbor yelled at him then he left "

" Riley why didnt you call me "

" I was if he didn't leave but he did "

" It doesn't matter Riley you should have called, Bosses aren't going to like this "

" Well you don't have to tell them" I say

I get that look of are you kidding me right now

I just smile

He rolls his eyes at me

" It's 6:42 " he says

" Yeah let me go in and get this day started " I say

He got out of the car came around opened the door for me offered his hand to me
I took it and got out of the car

He opened the back door and got my bag out
" Here you go" he says as he hands me the bag
" Thank you for the ride I'll be off at 7 tonight "
I started to walk to the entrance of the ER and Luther fell in step with me
I look up and over at him he just grins

Guess he is walking me in

We get to the door Hailey is already inside she sees us and comes out to us

" Morning Luther Sir"
" Morning Miss Hailey "
" I'll be going now and stay out of trouble " Luther says as he walks away

I roll my eyes at him

"Damn he's fucking gorgeous too " Hailey said
I reach over and wipe her chin and say
"You had a little drool right there"
She smacked My hand

The morning went along pretty fast it was now 1:30 and I was hungry so I slipped out to heat up a small amount of my leftovers I always eat small meals while at work I learned the hard way not to heat up all of it because you never know if you will get to eat it all

I heated up my steak bites and zucchini noodles the first small container I had two of them
I ate the one container then rinse it out and put it back

Washed my hands again then headed back to the ER

It was now 1:50 and my belly was satisfied for now

When I got back we had a gunshot wound come in
The guy had been shot in the abdomen it was a clean shot it went all the way through

He wasn't happy about being at the hospital, he verbally fought with Doctor
You could hear him in the waiting area he was that loud

I slip into the room to help the other nurse that was in there
The guys didn't want an IV in his arm he would jerk it away when Anna tried to get an IV started
" You fucking Bitch I don't need any drugs " he yelled
" Look Sir we need to get the IV in so we can give you fluids and if necessary antibiotics you do have an open wound " Anna explains
" Fuck you'" he yelled raising his fist towards her

" Sir I suggest you calm down or I'll give you something to do that for you " I growled at him
He looked over at me and gave me an evil look then says " I'd like to see you try too"

I didn't even take my eyes off him and I stuck him in the leg with the muscle relaxer

It took two seconds for him to realize I gave him something but by that time his eyes were closing

" Damn Riley you are good" Anna says with giggle

" Yep " I say Popping the P
Now that the patient was easier to deal with we got the IV in and the Doctor could examine him

It was deemed he needed surgery to repair the wound and off he went to the OR

As soon as he was sent up an other emergency arrived this time it was a car accident multiple people injured

By the time the fourth patient from the accident was taken up to surgery it was now 5:30 .

Hailey had come down after she texted to see if it's clear for her to come down

"Hey how's it going "
" Busy as fuck had a gsw and a car with multi patients "

" Damn we only have less than hour and half to go "

" I know and I will be happy to go home it's been a long day "

" When are the Guys Coming back"

" Two days They left yesterday after breakfast"

"So Sometime Tuesday "

" Yeah most likely late to early Wednesday Morning, I'll see them Wednesday night "

Anna stuck her head out and said we had another patient so I headed back in

It was a little kid who had split open their forehead

" Hello I'm Riley what's your name " I asked the little girl

" Maggie "

" Well Maggie how did you hurt your head "

" I fell into the coffee table "

" Oh Okay well it looks like it will only take us a few minutes to take care of it you will have to get some stitches but then you can pick a bandaid to put over it " I tell her

" Okay " she says softly

Dr Akers walks in and sees the little girl and frowns

" Riley "
I look over at Dr Akers he has a piece of paper in his hand
" Take this and put at the Nurses Station "
So I took it and turned and walked out to the station when I got there I flipped the paper over
Dr Akers had written a note on it saying to call Child Services Maggie has been in here four times in the last week for cuts and Bruises

I call child services and give them the information to which they say they will be here in a hour or so

I turned to the room to hear Dr Akers talking to Maggie trying to get her to calm down

" Do you need any help " I asked

" Yes Riley could you sit next to Maggie and hold her hand while I stitch her up "

" Sure will "

I sat down beside her and took her small hand into mine she was adorable her bright blue eyes and dark brown curls but her eyes held sadness in them

Dr Akers took care of her cut by putting in ten stitches and Maggie picked out a Princess Band aid to put over it

" Where are her parents " I asked Dr Akers as we left Maggie in the room to rest
" Most Likely our getting drunk and high "

" What she's what four , How could they be so irresponsible and leave her alone " I asked

" That's What Drugs and Alcohol does "

Child services arrived but they didn't have anywhere to take her at the moment they didn't have a foster family for her

Glancing at the clock it was now 7 and my heart told me to take the little girl home with me for the night

" I'll take her for the night but someone is going to have to get her tomorrow from the hospital since I work tomorrow too "

The two Child Services people seemed surprised
" Are you sure"
" Yes "
" Alright we will get your info from the hospital and you can take her home with you "

When I walked out the doors I had Maggie up in my arms carrying her she had fallen asleep and I didn't want to wake her up yet

Luther got out of the car and gave me a look
" I know you don't have a car seat but she's going home with me since her parents don't give a crap about her and yes it's been cleared with Child Services , They had to put 10 stitches in her forehead because no one was watching her "

" Okay Riley we can take her home but let's go get her some clothes to wear that fit her "

Off we went to the store Maggie was still asleep when we got there so Luther picked her up and carried her she snuggled into him wrapping her arms around his neck
If I would not have seen it with my own eyes i wouldn't have believed it Luther smiled a genuine smile
