Alternative Target: R.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N
{Namimori, Japan}
Beginning of the Sky battle.
"That was easy," Yucca muttered, cloud ring in hand as he moved his previously numbed arm back and forth in an attempt to make it less unresponsive.
Now in total control of his body, Yucca silently slipped the ring into one of his coat's inner pocket before he let his purple orbs rest on the teen's ragged figure.
Hibari's breathing was, battered and his eyes closed as he attempted to let his immune system dispel the drug. Yucca was pensive, should he help the teen evacuate the poison or leave him alone and join his boss and the others.
"We'll obliterate them."
No, helping the teen was out of the question. It went against his boss' goal. Now was the final battle, there would be no second chance. The Vongola would be on their case without a doubt. A second Cradle Affair wasn't something they would let pass.
Yucca sighed, calmly walking toward the lying teen. Crouching down, he let one of his hand push Hibari's stray bangs back as his other hand went behind his back. "Don't worry. I'll make it end," he whispered gently, "I'll take care of it."
At the sound of the older male's voice, Kyoya stirred, trying to open his eyes and resist."Shhh," Yucca said, "I have been beside you from the moment you were born." he recited in a calm voice, almost like a prayer.
::
"Fear not, the name 'death.'"
Bang
Everyone's eyes turned to the cloud monitor's direction. A gasp escaped the youngest girls' lips as they brought their hands to their mouth. Shock overwhelmed them, no words were said.
The vision of Hibari Kyoya's lifeless body was enough to haunt them for the rest of their lives.
"Ahhhh, it's been so long since I last said that," Yucca's voice resonated through the room, making their eyes snap in his direction. "How nostalgic," he muttered a wry smile on his face.
Pushing his bangs back with his left gloved hand, he let his eyes trail to the camera in the far corner.
He paused for a second before sending the spectators a perfect smile.
A chill went down most of the audience's spines.
::
"Ushishishi, what's that Yu?" Bel's voice called out, making Yucca snap his head the teen's way. "I can't have my fun but you can?"
Yucca sighed, "Does it look like I'm having fun?" He asked derisively.
Belphegor chuckled, his eyes glancing a Kyoya's lifeless body before his grin widened. "If I knew, I would have killed the peasant instead of coming here," Bel said in a false whiny voice.
In response, Yucca hummed. "We need to find the others, Squalo and Luss first."
"Ushishi, whatever you say, old man," Bel said with a laugh as he started to make his way to the rain's battleground, Yucca following him.
::
Getting closer to their destination, Bel and Yucca could hear the sounds of blades meeting each other every clash followed by explosions of various intensity.
"Seems like Squalo's fighting against two guardians," Yucca muttered as his pace quickened.
"Shishi, time to settle the score," Bel dashed in the room's direction, not waiting for Yucca as he took two of his many knives out.
Seeing the blond teen rush into the battlefield, Yucca let a small sigh escape his lips. His right hand rested on his gun's holster as he neared the room's entrance.
The sound of blades meeting each other had increased since he first heard them, and so had the shouts and explosions. Entering, Yucca assessed the situation, not letting others know his presence yet.
Gokudera Hayato, whose sequels from the storm battle hadn't completely healed yet, was sending myriads of dynamites in the Varia's direction while Yamamoto Takeshi was trying to fend against an extremely injured Squalo and an almost perfectly fine Bel.
"Don't play around too much Bel," he called out, making the two Vongola teens tense up as they recognized the voice's owner.
Mentally cursing themselves, Gokudera stepped up his game trying to send more dynamites than before as Yamamoto clenched his teeth, grip on his sword tighter as he tried to finish his fight faster.
Yucca was unfazed by the sudden rain of dynamite. His left hand deflected all the incoming hits as he held the dagger he usually hid in his left cuff.
Under the renewed pressure of his opponents, Bel's grin stretched his signature creepy laugh escaping his lips as he took out dozens of new daggers which he sent flying in the dynamites' and teens' direction.
Squalo, on the other hand, clicked his tongue. His breathing was unregular, panting he could feel his wounds had reopened during the fight. He cursed himself for getting hurt a few days ago and tried to dodge the dynamites coming his way, deflecting a few ones with his sword as he fell back, giving Bel more leeway to fight.
The tables had turned, Hayato and Takeshi knew it. Fighting against an injured Superbi Squalo wasn't the same as having to take on a perfectly fine Belphegor and Yucca. They would need more than sheer skills to get out of their predicament.
::
"Hayato," Bianchi whispered worriedly as her eyes followed her brother's every move through the monitor. Her hands formed a tight fist as she forced herself to look at her brother being beaten to the pulp once again.
Clenching her teeth, she turned around. "I'm going," she declared as she tried to make her way out of the room.
"You can't Bianchi," Reborn stopped her, his fedora casting a shadow over his face. "This match isn't for you to fight."
"Then what! Should I stay here and wait for my brother to die!" she shouted, not an ounce of her usual self-control present. "Hayato is all I have! I don't want to lose him!"
Reborn didn't add anything, staring at her for a few seconds he gave an unnoticeable sigh before letting his attention go back to the current fight.
::
"Ushishi, do I kill them?" Belphegor asked himself as he steadily poked Yamamoto's listless figure. "Or should I keep them to play later?" he muttered, tilting his head to the side.
"Do whatever you want Bel," Yucca answered passively, as he began to provide Squalo with basic first aid. "Don't forget to take the rings though," he added.
Boom
The three Varia members stopped their movements for a second, exchanging looks, Yucca stood up before helping a reluctant Squalo.
"Ushishi, was that the boss?" Bel asked no one in particular as he began to search the two teens for their rings and others they may hold.
"Probably," Yucca answered. "We should hurry and meet up with the others."
"Right, hurry trash," Squalo ordered as he began to make his way out of the room. He limped a bit as his sword trailed on the floor.
"You heard him, Bel?"
"Ushishishi, I'm coming." The teen answered dismissively before crouching next to the Vongola'ssilver-haired guardian. "But before that, I'll be taking my due," he whispered, leaning onto Gokudera's scared face.
Squish
The sickening sound of Hayato's second eye being gouged out echoed in the room.
::
"Do any of you know where Luss, Mammon, and Levi are?" Yucca asked as they made their way through the school ground.
"How should I know small trash," Squalo spatted. "I'm not psychic."
"Ushishi, they're probably at their battleground. Meaning the closest one would be," Bel paused taking a moment to think about it. "Luss or Mamon. Though knowing Luss, he probably moved already," he added shrugging his shoulders.
Humming, Yucca nodded his head. "Then let's head for the gym. If Mammon hasn't moved, he'll be here."
"Voi, shitty prince! Which rings are missing?"
"Ushishi, the peasants had the storm, rain, and lightning ring. Yucca has the cloud ring, so we need the mist and sun before regrouping with the boss."
"Four out of six? Guess we're leading," Yucca muttered.
"Tch, of course, we are. Who do you think we are, small trash?" Squalo responded begrudgingly.
::
"Now that I think about it, you didn't assist to Mammon's fight Squalo, did you?" Yucca pensively stated as they neared the gymnasium.
Squalo merely clicked his tongue at the remark not answering while Belphegor laughed.
"Not like it matters though," Yucca added in a mutter as he entered the gym through a crater in the wall. Most probably Xanxus' bullet's impact.
"Ushishi, need any help Mammon?" Bel called out in a mocking voice as he saw the mist guardian fighting against the Vongola's sun.
"Of course not," came Mammon's almost inaudible reply. "I don't need any help to dispose of the weak," with these words, Ryohey was sent flying against the furthest wall. "See? I've finished."
Humming, Yucca made his way to Ryohey's figure before crouching down next to min. "You didn't take his ring yet, right?" he rhetorically asked as he began to search the younger male's body for any trace of the sun ring.
"I didn't," Mammon answered before turning to face Bel and Squalo. "Do you have your rings?"
"Ushishishi, of course, I do. Because I'm a prince." Bel stated as he let his ring dangle at the end of his fingers in an attempt to show off.
Mammon nodded, turning their head in Squalo's direction.
"Don't worry Mammon," Yucca interrupted before Squalo could answer, making the silver-haired male click his tongue in annoyance. "If you have yours, then we have all of the missing rings," he stated, making his way back to the group.
Mammon's hidden eyes flickered in the raven head's direction before nodding. "Then let's regroup with the boss, things should get bloodier soon."
::
At the sight of their frozen boss, the Varia stiffened slightly. Eyes narrowed, in distaste, they made their way closer to the sluggish Tsunayoshi.
"Ushishi, we'll be taking this back," Belphegor indicated, taking the sky ring from Tsunayoshi's hand.
Weakly opening his eyes, Tsunayoshi glared at them.
"Now now, Tsunayoshi," Yucca called out as his companion regrouped around Mammon who was preparing to unfreeze Xanxus. "No hard feelings yeah? You're the one who decided to engage yourself and your friends in this war," he whispered his perfect smile adorning his face.
"It's not our fault you lost."
On cue, a gigantic dying will flame lit up. The ice melted.
Smiling Yucca added, "It's a shame you're the only one who will witness the boss' rebirth."
Tsunayoshi groaned.
::
"Kill them, kill them all!" Xanxus' voice boomed as he laid, burned, on the floor.
Yucca's eyes snapped in Tsunayoshi's and Reborn's direction at the order. The memory of their encounter at the hospital going back to their mind, as purple successively met brown and black. Yucca gave them a smile. With a flicker of his wrists, two daggers found their way to his palms.
Not like he waited for his order to kill one of them.
"Whatever you say, boss," Yucca muttered as he, Bel and Mammon took fighting stances. Squalo whose injuries had reopened remained near the boss.
With nobody to stop them, the Varia went on a rampage.
At this moment, those who observed understood what it meant to be part of the Varia and what it involved to go against them.
The Varia had won, whatever they did now nothing would change these facts.
The Strongest Man in Northern Italy crossing their path didn't faze them. At three against one, they easily overthrew him. The barrier still being up only helped them more. They could clean the ground up without any worth mentioning interruptions.
This night, in only a few hours the Varia overtook the Vongola.
The Vongola Famiglia was reborn.
Stronger, fiercer and most of all, more ruthless than ever.
A new age of terror had begun, similar to Ricardo's age. An age Iemitsu's representative would never be able to see.
... What to say, I honestly think the Varia should have won the sky battle if they went all out. I mean, honestly, they are professional killers, killing teens (even if they are part of the mafia world as of... last week?) should be a cup of tea.
Then again, none of them went out of their way to kill Tsuna and the others (I am not complaining. If they did the story would have ended T-T) so here's how it would have turned out if Yucca/Koro hadn't been so clement to the Vongola^^
Thanks for reading, until next time
P.S.: I don't know if some of you celebrate Halloween (I don't), but if so happy Halloween!
