"Amyra is hot," Hassan smiled. "She's single also. I feel like that's a huge shout-out. It's like calling me, giving me this massive greenlight." He sighed dreamily.
"You gon' go for it?" I smirked.
"Of course," he snapped his fingers in the air and clicked his lips. I laughed at him. "But her agency won't let her date."
"Senior Alexander is the love of my life," It was Ameenah's turn to sigh dreamily. "He's so cool. But I think I sort of found him weird when he offered to help Komisola in the hallway."
"Popular story," Hassan shook his head.
"Who's Senior Alexander? And how did he help Komi?" I found myself asking. Curiosity clouded my senses immediately.
"Oh, Komi-"
Dabirah started to talk but Ameenah nudged her by the side. She glared at her before facing me.
"Komisola is the outcast of the school," Dabirah told me. "If you noticed, no one really talks to her and vice versa."
"Why is she an outcast?"
"Why do you so badly want to know?" Hassan smiled at me.
"Because," I cleared my throat and shrugged.
Truth was, never had I ever found someone as interesting and closed off as Grey eyes.
She seemed like an extra in a story.
An unnoticed character with so many secrets. And no action.
"A video of her and her brother leaked. Very nasty."
I got cold at that.
And more curious.
"Long story cut short, shit happened and no one really likes her."

The book shone from afar even with its old, rusty cover.
She took a step forward.
And another.
One more.
Till she got to where the book laid.
As blank as its cover was, a huge width, dust covering it and how heavy it looked...
She put her hand forward and touched the book.
But with touching it, came a hot scald to her fingers and she jumped back.
I was in the Leisure Room again.
All by myself.
As usual.
Until the door barged open.
To reveal the famous trio of CH; Crestview's Golden Trio which consisted of Senior Adam, Senior Solomon and Senior...
Alexander.
Luck is never on my side, right?
Our eyes met and his lips slowly curved to form a smile at me.
I didn't smile back.
Simply stared at him.
Waiting for him to get tired of looking at my face, and look away.
But I was proved wrong when he began walking towards me.
Just why?
His friends shot him a weird look before they glanced at me. Senior Solomon stared at me for a moment longer, his gaze almost piercing into my body and soul before he looked away.
I wondered if he knew me.
Senior Adam was almost the same as Senior Solomon, but there was a hint of confusion to his impassive expression.
He didn't know me.
Thank God.
"What are you doing here alone, Komisola?" Senior Alexander walked up to me and asked. His hands were pocketed into his trousers and there was a small purse across his shoulder.
This sucked.
"Reading," I told him. Waited for him to get bored and go back to his friends.
"Can I see?" When I thought he would leave, he inched closer and peered to see.
"Problematic," he smiled. "You're almost through. It's the bestseller at the moment, right?"
I nodded weakly.
Even I knew my robot replies were a huge turn off.
"Hmm," Senior Alexander pressed his lips into a thin line, "okay. Let's exchange,"
He stretched forward a copy of the book I was reading.
I furrowed my brows in confusion.
"This is an autographed copy," he explained. "TAY is my sister's friend. So I sort of got her to autograph my copy." He smiled sheepishly.
"Why are you giving me?" I had to ask.
"I can see you like her book very much. You're always holding it wherever you go. I'm very sure you're rereading it."
TMI.
"Yeah," I said to him.
"Anyway, take." He dropped his copy of Problematic and continued to smile at me. "Bye. My guys are calling me."
They weren't actually.
But judging by the scowl on Senior Solomon's face, then maybe Senior Alexander must have noticed too.
I turned to the autographed copy of Problematic.
Given to me by Senior Alexander.
I had always reasoned his kindness to be pure pity.
My mind didn't change.
I never understood him.
He was the only one who truly knew my problems, didn't judge and yet helped me in the hallway.
Who exactly was Senior Alexander?

The next day, as early as 5 a.m, I found myself jogging in Galaxy Park. It was probably the largest park in Crown City.
The only thing heard was my heartbeat every now and then. My chest rose and fell with a puff of breath.
I had been jogging for two hours, since 3 a.m and I felt like I would pass out at any moment soon.
And now it was 5 a.m, my legs were numb. Feeling like jelly. And my body began to ache all over.
My whole body was soaked in sweat.
I stopped for a minute, dropped my hand and rested my two hands on my knees.
I could continue another time.
Not right now when my heart felt like it would burst out of my chest.

I stared at my cup of coffee. Then greedily reached for it and gulped everything in one go.
"Han, baby, let's go." I looked up at the sound of Mum's stilettos walking down the stairs.
I glanced at my wristwatch before smiling at her. After our last argument, I had cried in my arms while she hugged me.
As angry as I was at her and Dad, I still loved them both.
And I don't think I ever wanted that to change.
"Hey, Mum?" I called once we got into the car.
"Yeah?" She glanced at me.
I waited for the rev of the engine to die down before continuing.
"There's someone I want to help. She's a strange person. She's sort of like an outcast in my school but I really like her..."
"You like her?" Mum frowned. "Why do you like her?"
"I don't know," I shrugged. "She's an interesting person. I feel like there's really a lot more to her than I know and I really want to get to know her."
"Who's she?"
"I don't know," I repeated. "But a friend of mine told me she was an outcast. A video of her and her brother leaked." I admitted. "So I don't think the aftermath was memorable."
"Her and her brother...? I think I know who you're talking about."
"You do?"
Hope flooded through my veins. At the same time, mixed with surprise and relief.
"There was a girl in your school who went viral some time ago. She's the daughter of the General Overseer of the church I go to. She filed a case against her brother for sexual abuse but she didn't win. No one heard about her and her brother after that, though."
"So you know her?" Mum looked at me for a second.
I nodded, "Yeah. But it's hard to be friends with her."
"Why?"
I closed my eyes and sucked in air, definitely not ready to face the truth that I had discovered from knowing Grey Eyes.
"'Cause she gets paranoia from the sight of men."
~
we finally know what exactly is wrong with komisola.
i don't really have much to say but i think that we can all see that komi has a distorted version of reality and hanniel is well... quick witted.
anyway, bye luvsss <33
