Chapter 十

The night was warm and inviting and Po had no problem with accepting the invitation. Of course, he already had plans on being out here anyway, but why not work in a bit of action time with his action figures. It had been months since Tai Lung was defeated again. No one had found out about his return, so Po, Tigress, and Shifu had all agreed to pretend that nothing had happened. When the masters had woken up the following morning and had seen the training hall in disarray, it was merely said that Tigress had gotten up in the middle of the night to train. Everyone had accepted the idea without even the slightest urge to ask anymore questions.. But of course, that was all in the past.

Po was presently outside with two different boxes. The smaller he kept hidden from view in his back pocket. The bigger box had its lid removed so that he could play with the action figures inside. The Dragon Warrior lined all the action figures in a semi-circle and then staged an army of stick warlords with leaf shields.

"Prepare, Mighty Dragon Warrior and Fearesomely awesome Furious Five!" he exclaimed, moving the stick leader to the front of the army. "For your defeat at the hands of the Li-Zhou War State!"

"Taste defeat?!' the Po action figure interjected. "I'll only taste your table of bitterness if you can survive the delicious taste of JUSTICE by yours truly!"

"You tell 'em, babe!" the Tigress action figure encouraged.

"I say there's been enough talk," cried the Mantis figure.

"Agreed," action figure Po replied. "My fellow comrades...ATTACK!!!"

The action figure army then proceeded to charge at the Li-Zhou warlord sticks who brandished surprise spears and cannons.

"Incoming!" cried the Monkey figurine.

The sticks and the action figures began to battle out, launching an army of impressive moves at one another. Po blocked a mini spear while Tigress leaped high into the air and then took out a good part of the army in the rear. Crane worked together with Viper to do an aerial maneuver and Mantis used his strength to manipulate the soldiers into all the traps Monkey had set up. The master laughed heartily at his masterpiece before avoiding a brutal blow from more warlord weapons. Things were going well and even turning in the masters' favor, but just as they started to push back the army, Mantis suffered a horrible injury and was left exposed in the battlefield. Viper let out cries of horror as she made her war over to him. The masters kept the warlords at bay and tried to dishearten them into giving up, leaving the two to have a moment alone.

"Are you okay?!" Viper cried. "Let me see!"

"Don't worry about me," Mantis whispered hoarsely. "You should be more worried about...the Liz-Zhou. They can't get to the valley."

"I'm not going back without you!" Viper insisted. "At least let me look at your injury."

Mantis obliged her and Viper took great care in seeing what the damage was. Mantis, thankfully, was not lethally injured, but he would definitely require a lot of bed rest and medical attention before he would be back to his old self.

"I need to get you somewhere safe," Viper told him, starting to move him.

"Just move me over to that little hill. It's not too far."

"But it's still close to the battlefield."

"I'll be alright."

Viper did as instructed and got him comfortably settled on the little mound. She then looked back at her friends to see how they were holding up. Everyone seemed pretty okay, but one knew that battles could turn at any given moment.

"Go on and help them out," Mantis said, bringing her attention back over to him. "I'll be okay."

"I can't leave you alone!" Viper protested. "What if one of the warlords gets to you?"

"They won't with you guys beating them down," Mantis assured her. "I'll be fine. Promise."

Viper sighed, relenting her position. She then gave Mantis a smile and asked, "Well then, can I at least get a kiss for good luck?"

Mantis gave her a very happy smile and reached up to give the master his best kiss when, all of a sudden, Tigress' booming voice was heard.

"But then an avalanche crashed through the entire army and the day was spared."

Out of nowhere, a large boulder came barreling through and crushed the entire army, leaving the action figures of the Furious Five and Po to stand victorious. The real Po, having been startled by Tigress' sudden appearance, immediately blushed in embarrassment and moved everything off to the side.

"Hey! Um...you're here...a bit early!" he stammered.

"No, I'm on time," Tigress corrected. "You were just super engrossed with making imaginary battle scenarios."

Po twiddled his thumbs before asking how long she had been standing there, which apparently had been a good duration of the battle.

"You never let me see your fake battle scenarios, so I was curious," she admitted.

"That's because I want to play and not get critiqued because Mini-Monkey didn't have the right leaping form!" Po protested.

Tigress rolled her eyes with a hint of a smirk. "Oh please. Your battle formations were fine," she commended. "It was your choice of interaction that could use some fine tuning." She then proceeded to lift an eyebrow and with a teasing look added, "Babe?"

Po turned a darker shade of red and laughed nervously. He then hastily began to scoop all his action figures back into their box, putting the Viper and Mantis ones back last.

"And those two are not dating," Tigress tacked on.

"But they're so cute together!" Po protested. "I could totally see it!"

"Not happening."

"Stop raining on my awesome action fantasies!"

Tigress laughed and squeezed Po's shoulders, promising to drop the topic. Po then stood up and the two began to walk through the extensive grounds of the mountains. They walked to all of Po's training spots, small caverns where they had had secret picnics, the intimidating rock towers in the Sacred Pool of Tears, and even a slope that wound up so high the valley looked like ants. The two eventually took to laying down in the grass and talking about their training, their life, their relationship, and literally anything else on their mind. (At one point, Po talked about what dumplings would taste like if you stuffed them with rice, peppers, and cheese). At some point in the conversation, Po sat up with a serious and also somewhat nervous expression.

"Is something wrong?" Tigress asked, sitting up to see him better.

""No," Po promised. "I just...I know you're kinda' reserved about some stuff-"

"Okay Po, what's going on?" Tigress asked. She gave him a mischievous look as if satisfied that she had caught him in the act.

"Well, I was thinking about us and how much we love each other and how awesome it is to fight by your side every day...." Po started to stammer with as much confidence as he could. "And I thought, You know, there's no one else I'd rather die for than you, whatever happens."

He then dug into his back pocket and took out the smaller box. He opened the lid, revealing a small gold ring, and asked, "Will you marry me?"

Tigress' mouth hung open in shock (which she tried and failed to hide with her paw). She quickly recovered though and gave Po the happiest smile he had ever seen. "Of course I will!" she said.

He felt all his nervousness melt away as he put the ring on her finger and the two immediately embraced and kissed.

"When should we tell everyone?" Po asked.

"They'll probably find out tomorrow," Tigress guessed. "But we'll worry about that later. I want you to myself for now."

The two then laid back in the grass and listened to the wind rustling through the mountain. They took to staring up at the stars and soon fell asleep in each other's arms.
