I tear my eyes away from the mysterious man and focused on my mom. Her eyes were clouded over and her face perfectly still. I was interrupted by the man she called Alga.
"Welcome Kourtney." I turn back to him. Smoke danced gracefully around his head.
"Do you know who I am?" He asked slowly.
"Your name is Alga." I stated pathetically.
" Yes I am. And I was the last Cloud Jumper up until your birth."
" I don't understand."
"You are the next cloud jumper." He whispered. What is a cloud jumper? Why are we here?. Who is he? The questions rambled through my mind but I didn't let them out.
"I know you don't understand, but I am here to teach you." He got up slowly letting out a low groan. Alga limped towards me and grabbed me and pulled me into a door I hadn't noticed. The door lead to a set of spiraling stairs.
"All you need is down there." With that he shut the door.
I cautiously stepped into the dark. I kept a steady hand on the railing. My feet came in contact to the cold ground and almost immediately the room was ignited with light. A fire blazed in the fire place and a beautiful candle chandelier hung in the middle of the ceiling. A long table filled with food sat under the chandelier. By the fire sat two red chairs and a red love seat. The walls were painted a beige and pictures of people I didn't know hung on the walls. There were three brown doors, two on the left and one on the right.
I made my way towards the door to the right and opened the door. The room stretched far out. There were all kinds of equipment including punching bags and a track. There were also things I have never seen before including a wired looking obstacle course.
Deciding to leave that for another time I shut the door and turned back to the left side of the room. The first door I opened was a huge luxurious bathroom with a walk in shower, a hot tube, toilet, and a sink with a huge counter. The walls were baby blue and fluffy royal blue towels hung on the wall. A door sat in the corner. I made my way through the bathroom and into another big room but this one was filled with clothes and shoes. There were all kinds of clothes and shoes that were all colorized. An open door was at the end of the small hallway. I looked through it to see a large kin sized bed with royal blue sheets and baby blue pillows. The room had a brown couch, Oak desk, swivel chair, two oak bedside tables, a large oak dresser with a long mirror. On the wall was a huge flatscreen tv. I open the dresser to see pjs and underwear all my size. I pull out a white cotton t shirt and blue knee length leggings.
I pull back the light covers on the bed and slide in, the bed sinking slightly. The bed was so soft and sleep quickly over came me.
