[Monday, October 3]

That afternoon, Violet and Mystery were to hang out.

"Violet, are you sure she won't hurt you?" Mrs. Mario asked her little girl.

Violet nodded,"She's a friend Mama! You can trust me."

"No she can't." Mario muttered.

Mrs. Mario gave her eldest son a look and then hugged Violet,"Still, stay safe. If something happens, you run to the sheriff's office."

Violet nodded as her mother walked to the door. Outside was Mystery, smiling.

Mrs. Mario narrowed her eyes,"Can I trust you with my daughter?"

"Yes ma'am." Mystery answered.

Mrs. Mario let go of her daughter's hand as Violet jumped over to Mystery and gave her a hug.

Mrs. Mario seemed to soften up a bit when she watched this,"Have a fun time you two."

Mystery and Violet nodded, then left.

"So where are we going?" Violet asked.

"The park!" Mystery smiled.

Violet cheered. Positive appeared in front of them both,'About to have some fun at the park?'

"Yeah! Wanna join?" Violet asked her energi friend.

Positive smiled,'I'd love to!'

"Why is your Mom be late today?" Katherine asked KT.

KT shrugged,"I don't know. Maybe we can call her."

"You know her number?"

"Yeah."

The two second graders asked an employee at the library for the location of the phone.

The yellow haired Toadette dialed the number with the help of the employee,"Mommy? Hey, how come you're late?"

After a small conversation, KT informed her friend that her mother was working over-time.

"So we were supposed to go to aftercare?!" Katherine exclaimed.

"I-I guess so..." KT replied,"But don't worry! We can take care of ourselves!"

Katherine gave KT a look that said,'Second graders on their own... Right.'

"Or not..." KT nervously chuckled.
