Sammy was sitting in the back of his mother's car. He looked out the window sadly.

"I'm sorry Sammy..." She said,"But he had to move..."

His best friend Rover had moved during summer vacation to a place called Japan. He didn't care about the place he went to, he was just sad that his only true friend was gone.

But then he remembered what happened today...

"Hi! I'm Mosie! This is Koopana!"

Koopana waved to the little brown hedgehog. He waved back slightly. He wasn't happy.

Koopana noticed and put a hand on his shoulder,"What's wrong Sammy?"

Sammy was surprised and blurted out,"Um... N-nothing."

Koopana, her having a secret power of seeing what people think–not knowing how to stop it either–knew he was lying.

"Is it about... Rover?"

"How'd you...?"

"I... Uh... Heard he moved to..." She squinted her eyes and then said,"Japan."

"Yeah... He was so nice and cool..."

"Well, I want to be your friend. Although I may not be like Rover, but I'll still be nice!" She smiled.

Sammy blinked, smiled slightly, and nodded.

"Mommy... I made a new friend today anyway."

"Oh really? Who?"

"Koopana!"

"What a pretty name! I'm sure she'll be a great friend!"
