Well, as you can obviously tell by this fanfiction, I am a fan of Steven Universe. I regret not getting into this show when it premiered in 2013. Better late than never I guess. This show makes purchasing Hulu totally worth it. I swore to myself that I'd only make a Steven Universe fanfic when I'd finished watching all five seasons and the movie. So here we are. With each episode, I always thought it would be bittersweet if Steven actually got to meet his mom. I figured Steven could actually talk to Rose/Pink Diamond, and he could get some closure. It's kind of like that scene in Avengers Endgame where Tony and Steve travel to 1970, and Tony runs into his father, getting to talk to him one last time. And it gives Stark closure. Same with Thor getting to talk to his mother Frigga one last time in the same movie! Both moments were bittersweet. I think everyone who's lost a loved one would want to travel through time to talk to that person one more time for closure. Hence the title. Yes, I'm aware that in the Steven Universe continuity, holidays aren't celebrated, but I decided to violate that rule just to tell this story. And I figured it would make sense if Dr. Woof was featured, given that the TARDIS can travel through time and also many alternate dimensions. This is more of a soft reboot for Dr. Woof. And for this story, Dr. Woof is a Wheaten Terrier. Why that breed? To honor the memory of my dog Harvey. Miss you little buddy. Anyway, this story takes place after the movie, and Steven is 16, totally aware that his mom is Pink Diamond, and he's aware of Spinel. Also, Steven and Connie are in a romantic relationship. I ship them so much! I ought to thank my friend Carla Sanchez for helping me shape this story. I also want to dedicate this story to my friend Josh Strider, AKA Phantom Strider, for recommending this show to me. Enough said.
