My shift ends around six so I gather my bag and load it and myself into my small car. The drive home is nearly as short as it's always been, being that I didn't stay too far away from my place of work. I take my bag inside of my tiny apartment, throwing it and myself onto the couch as I fetch for my phone. I dial my bestie. She has got to hear this shit.
"NiNi?" Her voice is soft and soothing as she answers the other line.
I only roll my eyes. "Guess who appeared at my job today" I could hear her sigh in unknowness as she tried to guess a bit.
"Hmm. Michael B. Jordan?" I giggle a bit at her words. Although this would be nice, someone else appeared.
"The owner from the restaurant" I tell her and she lets out an audible gasp. "Yep" I confirm. "Says he was there to see me".
"How did he know that's where you worked?".
Her question takes me back for a second. How did he know that's where I worked? "I didn't ask. Although maybe I should have. It's a bit weird" I tell her.
"Maybe it's not. I mean you're a simple woman Minnie".
"So all women work at bookstores?" I ask and she tells me no, an answer I already knew. "It was weird. I was stocking and he just appeared out of nowhere" I say.
"And what did he want?".
"Said he wanted to go for coffee tomorrow. But I didn't quite get the part where we would go because someone called him. He is a busy man" I repeat his words from earlier.
She hums. "Well is there any way you can get in touch with him? Did he give you a number or anything" I sigh at her question and it's as if she already knows. "Well if you don't show up tomorrow he'll maybe come to your job again?" She talks with slight uncertainty but I only assure her.
"It's what he said. But a busy guy like him doesn't have that kind of time? I'm sure he has plenty of things to do" I say, standing up and bringing myself into my room where I free myself of my shoes, placing them neatly into the closet.
"Maybe he does if he made time to come to your job. How long was he there?".
"Maybe short of five minutes" I tell her and she hums.
"I'm sure he'll turn up. Any coffee shop near the place where you work? Try going there" she tells me and I shake my head.
"The next coffee shop is maybe half a mile away, and I don't think it's anything he'll go to. He seems too rich to want to go to some small place" I try my hardest not to make assumptions about him but it's difficult not to.
Why would someone like him even bother going near a place like the ones surrounding us?
"Well if you flake out he may get the wrong idea" I sigh as the ends come to a mean. Of course.
"I'll just need some time to think about this all. Maybe when I wake up tomorrow I'll have my mind made up".
"I hope so. He is a very handsome man. He may need someone like you" I roll my eyes and hang the phone up before tossing it onto my bed.

My alarm suddenly wakes me - the hard sound of buzzing being very apparent on top of my nightstand. I grab my phone and turn it off, looking at the time to be eight am. Great. Even if I did decide to meet with Mr. Jeon, my plans would have been defeated anyways. Curse myself for not setting a better alarm.
I fight to get out of bed, my body feeling sluggishly tired as I make my way into my bathroom, brushing my teeth and washing my face as I do each morning. I comb and brush my hair a bit before going into my closet to grab something casual to wear for today. Since it's a bit hot out, I settled for a knit cropped hoodie with a crop top, slightly baggy jeans and air force 1s. Nothing too much. I'm not doing a fashion show, although I do aspire to look nice on some days when I'm feeling it.
By the time I am all set it's 08:40am so I make my way into my car, the next stop being Bargain Books. "About time you got here. Shipment just came. Have a bunch of things to do today" are the first words Jay speaks to me.
I nod as I slip my phone into my back pocket, following behind him as he leads me to the large section that has little to no books on the shelf. "Need for you to organize these books, do a count, and sort them alphabetically" my eyes slightly widen at his list of instructions. Nearly nothing in this store is ever sorted that way.
"Care to tell me about Jeon JungKook" he tries to speak casually but it doesn't work. His cheeks redden a bit, he almost looks a bit flushed. But what do I know.
I shrug. "It was nothing".
"Wanting you to specifically help him find a book he never paid for doesn't seem like nothing".
"Are you quizzing me?" I ask and he lets out a small chuckle, only frowning when he sees that I'm not laughing one bit.
"No, definitely not. I was just a bit curious. I asked if he needed help and he refused, only wanting your help".
I shrug. "Well maybe he wanted my help because I was already helping him instead of wanting the help of someone who nearly ambushed him." My mouth speaks before I can actually process the words.
He scoffs. "What?".
I nod. "Yeah. You don't act well when you see someone of a higher status." Me saying the words remind me that I wanted to see if I could actually search his name on the internet.
"Well excuse me Ms. Raileigh, but it's not everyday where you meet someone like him".
"Yeah well you blew it. You seemed too eager. I'm sure if he was even the slightest bit of interested in you he wouldn't be now" I sit the first book onto the shelf, receiving a small scoff.
"As if he wouldn't be able to see right through you. You could barely even breathe in his presence". Well that makes two of us.
"Well it doesn't matter, Jay" I want this conversation to end.
"It does if you're flirting with customers" he says and I pause, averting my gaze into his eyes. Dark, filled with what seemed to be maybe jealousy. "It's against the rules".
I say nothing else until he clears his throat, antagonizingly. "I'm just here to work. I don't need to be scolded by you." He nods before taking a step off to the side in which I can finally breathe. I can hear him mumble something under his breath but it doesn't bother me.
I am barely halfway through with doing what he's asked when the shop opens. Great. More shit for me to deal with. Customers who lack common sense and are very needy. And all he does is walk around and act as if he's the glue that keeps everything together when in fact it's the employees that work underneath him.
I overhear his voice mixed with a males voice, peeking my head around the bookshelf to see the same man I had previously saw. He's nearly dressed in the same attire he was in yesterday, looking as clean as he did before, his hands in his pockets.
Jay slyly points to the space where I am and for a quick second I catch eye contact with the man before I hurry to turn back around and finish working.
"I'm guessing you had something rather important to do?" My eyes subconsciously close a bit as I press a book into its spot, turning around to see him with an eyebrow raised.
"Mr. Jeon..." he stops me mid sentence.
"Just JungKook, belle." I sigh at his words as I look into his eyes.
"I overslept" I speak truthfully but he doesn't seem to believe me. Him sighing and looking away from me and at a few customers.
"We're far too old to be lying to one another, sweetheart. Just tell me the truth".
I nod. "It is the truth, I did oversleep, but even if I didn't, I wouldn't have been able to come to whatever mysterious coffee shop you wanted to attend. You left before we could get it all sorted out" I said, watching his Adam's apple move as he swallowed.
"Which is why I gave you a card with an almost direct number to get in touch with me. If you weren't sure you could have called" he tells me but I disagree.
"You said you wanted to pursue me so why am I the one that has to look around for you? You should have made it clear from the beginning so that there wouldn't be the slightest of a misunderstanding" he forms a coy smile at my words but I mean them wholeheartedly.
"I did say that I wanted to pursue you and I meant that. I do apologize for not making things very clear to you, Miss Raileigh. It is all my fault. I'd like to make it up to you. We should get dinner." He tells me and I can't help but feel that this isn't normal.
He's taking full responsibility and blame. Is this guy real?
"Maybe this time you should give me a card instead of me giving you one" he raises an eyebrow and chuckles a bit.
I sigh as I look behind him and at Jay who acts as if he's walking past but I know that he's snooping. JungKook's eyes follow mine as he looks over his shoulder, averting his face back into my eyes as I do the same to him.
"Is he bothering you?" His voice is almost a whisper.
I give him a faint smile and shake my head.
"So should I come back with a pen and paper? For your number? Listen, Minnie I will not stop trying until you give me a fair shot." His dark brown eyes tell me no lies.
I give him a small nod and he turns without a further word. I go back to putting the books onto the shelf, seeing Paul cut a corner and make his way over.
"But someone told me that they weren't flirting at work".
I roll my eyes. "Either you want me to stock this bookshelf or you don't want me to do it at all". His face falls into a small frown before he squints his eyes, walking away.
My mind is far too jumbled that when JungKook approaches me again I nearly snap at him, only taking a small breath once I see that it's him. I hurry to grab the pen from his hand, scribbling my number down in a rush.
"Eager" he says and I nod. "Don't worry, I am too. I shall call you after your shift and we'll have dinner arranged for us then" He takes the paper and black pen with golden trim at the top, stuffing the paper into his pocket.
"I guess I'll be looking forward to it" I say and he raises an eyebrow, seeming not to be pleased with my response.
"You guess? Belle, that makes me think that you are not interested, and if I feel that way in the slightest - I'll have no choice but to leave you alone. I mean consent is the top factor in all relationships" he tells me.
"No, I'm excited about it. I'm just not feeling too great right now" I say and he nods, his chest falling a bit.
"Are you feeling under the weather?" He asks and I shake my head.
"Somethings bothering you. And I can already see what it is. But trust me, you won't even need it for longer." He says and I shrug. Whatever the hell that means.
"So, can you buy a book this time? He noticed and complained that I was flirting so" I said and he chuckled.
"Sure, belle" he takes a few books from the shelf, holding them in one hand. His tattooed hands are large so he's able to, but the books aren't too big to where I'd be freaked out that he's able to hold four of them.
"Is this enough or does he want me to buy an entire shelf?" He asks and I crack a smile of my own.
"I'm sure that'll be fine." I say and he nods.
"Then I should see you at seven tonight. Don't make me wait up, Miss Raileigh" he repeats the same actions from yesterday as he shortly leaves my presence. Thank god. Now I can finally breathe normally again.
୨୧💗 ୨୧💗 ୨୧💗 ୨୧💗 ୨୧💗 ୨୧💗
My shift ends around six, which is when I'm set to leave so I do. But I'm not able to get far before I place my eyes against a tall Korean male, brown eyes like mine, a grey suit on, and his nose exceptionally large for his face. He had his back pressed against the side of my car, his hands clasped in front of him. "Excuse me?" I mutter.
His face brightens with a small smile as he finally stands up all the way, clearing his throat. "Evening Miss Raileigh. I am Mr. Kim. I was sent by Mr. Jeon to pick you up after your shift" he tells me and my eyebrows furrow from confusion.
We hadn't said anything about meeting directly after work.
"He said that we would meet at seven" I tell him and he nods as if he's forgotten to tell me a piece of information.
"As you know Mr. Jeon has a very fixed schedule. He is set to have a meeting tomorrow morning in Busan, meaning he will leave later on tonight. He wanted to go ahead and meet with you before he departs".
I shake my head. I'm not even sure who this guy is or if he actually works for Mr. Jeon. "I would like at least a hour to clean myself up. I can't see him like this. I will not see him like this" I take a few steps towards my car to open the door but he places a gentle hand against my arm, stopping me.
"Miss Raileigh, he has already made plans to meet with you tonight. His schedule is a bit packed tonight since he has to leave soon" his voice is calming but not convincing.
"I'm sorry but I will not see him this way".
He nods and takes his phone out, dialing a single number and pressing the device against his ear. "Mr. Jeon. Yes she says that she wants to get herself ready...I understand" he ends the call and takes a small step back.
"Are you okay with me following you to your apartment? He wants to assure that you make it to his location safely. I'll be driving you this evening" he tells me.
"Whatever" I mumbled the words out, him pulling the door open for me like I'm some kind of wealthy woman. But I don't fight it or him. I get inside and he gently closes the door for me, which I start my car and pull out of the parking lot. Once I make it to my apartment I head upstairs and throw my bag and phone down before making a run for the shower.
This all throws me off because it was said that I'd have at least a full hour to get myself ready but since he's on a 'fixed schedule' I'll just have to make do with what I have. I quickly jump into the shower, knowing that I don't have much time so I don't waste any time daydreaming. I quickly lather my body with soap a few times and turn the water off before wrapping myself inside a towel.
I run into my closet, picking up a black cotton bodycon dress that I know will go great with the small mule heels I thought about wearing for today. I slip the dress onto my body and like magic I feel as if I'm ready. I don't change my earrings, I keep them the same, putting my hair into a ponytail before grabbing my clutch.
To my surprise when I open the door his driver is standing there, a few feet away from my door. It's like he was purposely waiting, or either not wanting me to escape or leave without him knowing. Not that I was going to anyways. I wanted to meet with him.
"Miss Raileigh. Ready?" He asks and I give him a small nod. He leads the way to a large black car, windows tinted so dark that no one would be able to see inside.
He pulls the door open and my eyes are filled with delight as I had never seen something like this before. The seats are fine leather, not a speck of dirt inside of his car. I can tell that he takes extra care of it, which is great. No one likes a dirty car. Especially if you're a driver. Your car needs to be clean.
I climb inside, sitting on the right side as he circles his way around to the left, gently sitting inside. From the looks of it he's a very generous man, having small candies inside the little space in front of me.
He pressed the button to start the car and it growls before calming itself. He puts the car in drive and we head out of my complex. "Is there any music you'd like to request?".
I look up to see that he is eyeing me from the rear view mirror, his hands steadily on the wheel. "No. Whatever you play is fine" I tell him and he looks away, his hand touching the medium sized screen. Soft piano music starts to play and it's more lovely than I would have imagined.
"I must remind you of your seatbelt" he tells me and it's only then when I realize that I hadn't put it on yet. Which is something I never forget. I'm just in awe of this entire situation. I give him a gentle smile before pulling the leather around and clicking it.
I remain quiet for the rest of the ride as does he, only driving, which he is good at. The night starts to get dim so my eyes are placed against it and the lights illuminating the magnificently beautiful city of Seoul. It all looks wonderful.
"We've arrived Miss Raileigh" he breaks, putting the car in park and releasing himself from his seatbelt. I furrow my eyebrows as I look at him, soon looking back to the window as he lets himself out of the car. We stopped in front of a large hotel.
The door pulls open and he seems to notice the fixed expression on my face. "Mr. Jeon has had a change in plans. You were set to meet with him at a restaurant but his schedule didn't allow him to. I will assure you that you will enjoy yourself as he'll make sure you do" he tells me, gently guiding me to the inside.
I'm not sure what business we have doing here but I will not be going into a room with him. I am not that kind of girl, it's too soon. I'm not even sure of his age. Which reminds me. Look him up. I keep forgetting to.
"This way, Miss Raileigh" he guides me down a hall to which I shake my head following him.
"Just Minnie or NiNi, please" I tell him. We approach two silver elevator doors. He pressed a button and almost immediately they come open.
"I am only allowed to be formal with you. It's in my contract" I raise an eyebrow.
"Contract?" I ask and he nods.
"I am not allowed to speak much about it but yes. I am only allowed to be formal with you. You are an extension of Mr. Jeon. You will be treated with the most respect".
We step onto the elevator and he presses the top floor without thinking. I swallow as we go up, staying quiet as we reach the rooftop. And woah, is this part of the hotel the best I've ever seen.
Besides the nicely furnished space, there are beautiful lights, a hot tub which is bubbling, the pool looks warm also, and there is a large table with a plate at each end, significant cutlery beside it.
"Mr. Jeon will be with you in a second. For now you may have a seat" he guides me towards the table and I do. I quickly take my phone away to try and look him up but before I can he makes his way onto the rooftop.
He speaks a few words to his driver in a hushed tone before he is seen heading towards the elevator. "My apologies Miss Raileigh. There was a bit of traffic" he makes his way towards me and I stand up to be greeted with a small kiss on the cheek.
"No worries. I was just taking in the lovely view. I've never been so high up before" I tell him and a gentle smile is fixed upon his face as he takes a seat on the opposite end.
He gives me a small grin. "You've never?". I shake my head. "Well I'm glad I could be your first. But belle, we must get you on a plane or something. You have so much to experience. Would you like to travel?".
I nod. "Yes for a purpose. I wouldn't mind traveling around South Korea or maybe out of the country if I'm up for it at the moment" I say and he smiles, his gaze averting to someone behind me who I learn is some sort of waitress.
She gently sits two champagne glasses down, a bottle of champagne between the two before leaving. He smiles as he takes the bottle, opening it up for the two of us. "Didn't want to go with wine this time. This won't stain as much" he says and I giggle a bit.
He pours some in the glass and holds his up for a small toast before taking a sip. "So" he sits the glass down, gazing over into my eyes. "Perhaps you should accompany me sometime? I am a busy man, I travel a lot, as you can see I am traveling shortly".
"Accompany you? Like come with you while you're working?" I asks and he nods, shrugging a bit.
"Well yeah if you put it that way, but you won't be working. You'll be simply enjoying yourself to whatever joys you'd like. I'd be sure to make sure you enjoy yourself whenever you're with me" he says and I smile.
But I'm a bit simple, I would probably just want to be with him.
"So do you have a clue of what you want to eat tonight?" He asks.
"I'm in the mood for pasta" I say and his eyes squint for a bit. It's almost as if he disproves of my choice but doesn't say anything.
"Is that your favourite?" He asks.
I shake my head indecisively. "One of them, but I enjoy really anything. I'm not too picky" I say and he nods.
"So tell me what life is like for you".
I sigh. "Well as you know I work at Bargain Books. I enjoy books so I thought it was perfect for me, but I'm looking for better. After work I don't do much - unless a friend or family member wants to drag me out of the house".
"So what I'm hearing is that you're a couch potato?" He asks and I frown a bit. He makes it seem as if it's a bad thing. "I don't mean it that way love, it's actually a good thing. I love a woman who likes to relax. It's good for your mental. But it's also good that you get up and do something every now and again".
"I do stuff. Sometimes" I say and he grins a bit. "Tell me about you. This isn't a interview" I say and he lets out a very small chuckle.
"I am the self-made Jeon JungKook. I am owner of a few restaurants around South Korea, the United States, Britain etc. and I'm fixing to expand all over the world if I'm lucky to.
I'm usually a very busy man but when I'm not busy I like to take on my pleasures" he says the last word as if it has a deeper meaning, but I'm not able to ask because the waitress approaches us again.
"I'll have the steak and chicken parmesan while Miss Raileigh will have the pasta" he dominantly orders for me.
But not in the way that would make me feel as if he is too controlling. He only makes it set so that I know he is a man that handles responsibilities.
Without a word the lady nods, turning away and disappearing. "So can I get a bit of insight on your childhood?" He asks and I nod.
"I was raised by my mother, never met my father. My mother and I have a neutral relationship, she's there when I need her and I'm sure that I can count on her for anything. I was born in Los Angeles but grew up here in Seoul because we moved when I was 5 and my mom got a new job - we lived in a little two bedroom apartment where a bunch of kids lived around. I always had someone to play with" I tell him and he deeply listens.
"Any other family members?" He seems to be genuinely interested so I have no problem answering him.
"Well my grandmother passed when I was 7 so I don't much remember her, and my grandfather passed a 2 years back. He was the best. My mother has a sister, but they didn't talk much as I was growing up so we pretty much have a non existent relationship" I say and he nods.
"What about you?".
"Well I have a brother, Mingi. This is actually his hotel. He owns a few. I do restaurants he does hotels. We have a pretty good relationship. My mother and father are married but they couldn't have kids the natural way, so they adopted me and my brother, I have a good relationship with the two of them. Both are only children so no cousins or anything blood related" he says and I nod.
"How was life growing up with a sibling?" I ask. I've never had the feeling of being able to say that I was someone's sister/brother. It must be great.
"It's was...well, I guess. I was two years old when he was born so growing up with him was all I knew. We've grown to become great brothers, our parents wouldn't allow otherwise anyways" he says and I nod.
"So how many restaurants do you own?" I ask, taking my glass and taking a small sip.
"Fifteen. They're all over. I just recently put some up in Georgia, Washington, a few in California and in Texas a few months back. Working for one in Paris" he says.
He grins widely. "Your smile. Do you like Paris?".
I nod. "I really want to go, it's been my dream for a long time".
He nods. "Well then we shall go, belle. I want to make your dreams come true. All of them. But I also want to get to know you better and assure that this is something we both want".
"This? What is this this that we're speaking of?" I ask and he smiles.
"An agreement".
"An agreement?".
He nods. "I want to experience things with you. It wouldn't be entirely sexual, there will be many benefits besides just that" he speaks and I raise an eyebrow.
"Sexual? You never said anything about us doing anything sexual I mean this is our first date, Mr. Jeon".
He clears his throat as the waitress approaches us. "JungKook, belle. Just JungKook" the woman sits a very delicious looking plate in front of me before sitting JungKook's plate in front of him. He gives her a fixed smile before she walks away.
"But yes, Minnie. We're both adults here so no need to straddle the fence. Our relationship would be strictly sexual unless I intend for it to go otherwise. But that doesn't mean that I will not take care of you while you're with me. All expenses will be covered, and aside from the sex you'll enjoy your time with me" he takes his for and knife and begins to cut his steak.
"But first I will make you want to have sex with me. I will not just bring this upon you without any further attraction. I will take you out for dates, buy you whatever it is that you desire, spend time with you if I am able to, and honestly just treat you the way a woman should be treated".
I press my fork into my pasta before taking my first bite. My appetite is a bit ruined. "So basically the boyfriend package?" I raise an eyebrow and so does he.
"Except that I will not be your boyfriend. Our relationship on paper will be sex, but I'm not a asshole so I will treat you nicely" he presses his steak into his mouth— that leaves me for further confusion.
"What if that's not what I want?" I ask and he pushes his eyebrows down.
"What do you mean?".
"What if I don't want a sexual relationship with you?".
"Then we won't have one".
"But that means that I won't have you, right?".
He nods as if it's such a easy thing to make apparent. He sighs. "Listen here, Minnie" his voice is calm but the way he adjusts himself in his seat makes me think otherwise.
"I don't too much do relationships, they never work out. So I am telling you that that's not what I'm aiming for. But I would like to take care of you. Show you a few things, introduce you to a new life that you'll enjoy. If we gravitate towards each other we'll handle it then but I highly doubt that it'll happen, at least on my end".
He presses another piece of steak into his mouth and it makes me feel a bit different. "So you had no attraction to me?" I ask and he shakes his head.
"No darling, I am certainly attracted to you, which is why we're here in the first place. You're beautiful, and as our conversation continues I see that I am growing quite fond of you. But a relationship is not what I'm looking for" he makes it his claim to add the last part.
But okay I get it. You don't want a relationship.
"So how would something like this even work? I mean how can we even ensure that what you want to happen will happen?" I ask.
He tilts his head to the side a bit.
"Through a contract. But before we speak further you'll have to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement. This ensures that you will not speak about or to anyone the things between us. Its for our safety".
"Safety?" I scoff and he nods.
"The public doesn't need to know about the many things we'll do. It's none of their business and just some things should be kept only between people" he says.
"So is there anyone you'll talk to?" I ask and he shakes his head.
"I don't disclose what I do inside the bedroom to anyone besides the person I'm doing it with. It's sloppy and irresponsible" he tells me.
"So the NDA is only for sexual terms? You keep talking about the sexual stuff" I say and he shakes his head.
"No, belle. But it is the main part. So you will have to sign it. After you sign it you'll sign another contract. This is to negotiate things between us. There you will see what world I live in and if you're even up for it" he speaks as if he's the devil and the smirk on his face convinces me so.
"Okay" is all I manage to say. All this talk about contracts and different worlds is making me a bit flushed. It's all so new. I've never dealt with someone like him, a wealthy man who owns many restaurants.
I can tell that he is much older than me but sophisticated isn't even the word for him. He's...elegant, much, much more mature than any man I've dealt with. And he means business.
He won't allow someone to come in and mess up what he has planned. Signing contacts? This is some movie type shit.
But all he's spoken for is a NDA which I have no problem doing, not that I would have discussed my sexual business with anyone else. But there is another contract that I want to so badly know about, but he's says he will speak no further about it until I do sign the nda.
"You're a bit flushed, Minnie. Would you like some water to help you cool down?" He asks and I peer my eyes from my pasta, in which I've been gazing at for the past half minute, and look up to see him with a fixed smirk, a small one, but very apparent.
But I think he's fucking with me. Or maybe he's doing the opposite. Maybe he's flirting.
"I'm fine. This champagne is lovely" I take the glass and sip from it, him watching me intensely before looking back down at his food and picking some up with his fork.
"So tell me about birthdays? What do you like to do?" He asks. Gosh, this guy wants to know a bunch.
I shrug. "Later this year I'll finally be able to go to a bar so that's what I'll be doing, but I've previously only had a small gathering with a friend or two" I say.
He nods. "Who are your friends, other than Jeon Soyeon? I want to know these things about you belle, don't hold back".
"Well I have a friend named Tamia, and another who I met through her named Jooshica. But I mostly talk to Soyee." Fuck this pasta is tasty.
"And how did the two of you meet?" He asks as I fill my mouth. I chew a bit before swallowing. I don't want to asphyxiate myself.
"When I was in high school. 3 years ago, so we've known each other for three years. She's sort of my best friend" I tell him. "Do you have a best friend?".
"No, but I do have a long term friend. His name is Hoseok." He says.
"And how did the two of you meet?" I ask him because he's been quizzing me the entire time, wanting to know about my life.
But this is how it should be. He should take interest in the things as I do.
"Business meeting years ago when I was your age. He has a few restaurants around the states. Been friends ever since. So what are your goals in life?" He quickly changes the subject after giving me a small answer.
But I don't fight him for it. I only answer.
"I'd like to get my architectural degree if I'm lucky to." I say and he nods.
"Tell me something that doesn't include work. Maybe something in your personal life. Kids? Relationships?" It's funny that he asked this because a man that wants nothing to do with relationships wouldn't care about such things.
"Well certainly no kids any time soon" I say and it's like he takes a cool breath. "But I would like to fill my bookshelf with classic books. Decorate a bit more. Want my mental health to be in good shape" I say and he smiles.
"Smart girl has it all figured out" he seems to want to say more but not before his phone begins to buzz. He partially rolls his eyes before standing up. "I have to take this. My apologies belle" he brings the phone to his ear as he steps aside for a quick second.
He disappears from view so I don't look for him anymore. Instead I look around, placing my eyes against the hot tub that is sizzling, it's bubbles forming, the steam being very apparent. It's nice up here, here on the rooftop. I've never done anything like this and just even being able to see the other buildings from such an angle has me in awe.
The buildings around us are scattered with lights, being ones that help light up the city. But not to the point where it's irritating, it's all beautiful.
JungKook comes back and he seems to be in a bit of a rush, walking directly past the table and up to me. "I apologize belle but I have to leave right this second. There's a small problem I need to handle at one of my buildings" I stand up and watch as he speaks.
"It's fine. I had a lovely evening. This was nice of you" I say but he looks too apologetic to process what I'm thinking in my mind. He looks as if he thinks I'm really torn but in reality I'm fine.
"No, belle. I wish you could come. It's just that I have to get there soon and I'll have a meeting early tomorrow morning. I hadn't expected it so I hadn't made any plans for you to be able to occupy yourself" as I move from the chair his leg moves to push it in.
I stifle a smile up at him, to which he seems to calm himself for a quick second.
"This was a beautiful evening".
He gives me a goofy smile, sighing and looking down at me. "I'm going to make it up to you next time. Is there anything you want to do?" I shake my head at his question.
"Come on. There has to be something".
"You could just bring me something from Tokyo" I suggest and he nods.
"I'm sure they have the same luxury stores as we do here. Do you like Gucci?" He asks and a fixed look of confusion takes over me.
"I was thinking more of a scrapbooking set?" He lets out a small laugh but I'm only serious. I can see that he's generous but something like that is nothing I want from him.
"Okay. A set. Have an aesthetic in mind?"
His voice is monotone but it doesn't bother me. He's probably used to girls asking for much but I won't. Something small can go a long way.
I shake my head to give him a answer. I have no preferences. A scrapbooking set is a set.
"Okay so I'll get you a set, something that resonates with Tokyo, Japan. I'll be sure to call you once I reach my destination".
He gently holds the small of my back as he directs me towards the elevator. "So when are you coming back?" I tried not to ask but I can't help myself. He asks me protruding questions so it's only right that I do the same to him.
"I should reach my destination shortly after my meeting so maybe around twelve or one pm" he gives me an answer as the silver doors come open. He presses 'L' for lobby and the doors close, gently letting us down.
"Is there anything you'll be doing tomorrow?" He asks and I nod.
"Work".
"And you're free afterwards?".
"I would hope so" I tell him. Besides work my day is really free, unless I have a unexpected doctors or dentist appointment.
He hums. "Hopefully I'll be free and we can speak further about negotiations. But you must remember that it only gets that far if you sign the NDA first".
Oh JungKook how could I forget.
I'll sign the goddamn NDA.
