Chapter 12 ~ Where Did She Go?

Harry's POV

"It was Malfoy," I blurted out.

"Harry!" my sister hissed beside me.

"That is a serious accusation, Potter," Professor McGonagall said.

"Indeed," Snape added. "Your evidence?"

"I just know," I replied.

Snape stared at me, pausing before speaking again. "You just know? Miss Potter, do you agree with your brother on this?"

She reluctantly shrugged. "I don't know who could've cursed Katie, sir."

"How grand it must be to be the Chosen Ones," he snapped.

"Very grand," Max added in a sarcastic tone.

With that, McGonagall let us go back to the Gryffindor Tower. Max was silent the entire walk back, which had me worried, like always. Ever since she showed up at the Dursleys, I knew for a fact that something was wrong. Even in her letters. I could tell by the way she wrote it. Plus, my twin sense even suspected something was up with her.

No matter how many times she would push me away, Max still didn't get that I was always going to come back. We were family, twins, for Merlin's sake! I could never just leave her, no matter what she did. We told each other everything.

So why was she keeping secrets from me?

I looked over at my sister, who seemed very mad. I wondered if it was what I said about Malfoy that irritated her. Of course, I knew it was true that he was the one who cursed Katie. Who else would do it? After all, the four of us saw him at Borgin and Burkes near the end of the summer. A bunch of Death Eaters were there as well. So why was Max always defending him if he was a Death Eater? She did say that they were friends, but why did that matter?

Based on everything we saw, chances are, he was a Death Eater.

When we entered the Gryffindor Common Room, Max ran straight upstairs. I didn't even bother calling out for her.

I sighed and sat on the couch. "You guys believe me, right?" I asked Ron and Hermione as they sat down beside me.

"I don't know, Harry," Hermione replied. "You don't even know if he was the one who did it. It could've been anyone."

"But he was the only one with a package that looked like the one Katie was holding. It had to be him. There's no way it was someone else."

Hermione sighed and we looked at Ron.

The ginger shrugged at us. "I don't know what to tell you, mate. Maybe Hermione's right. We have no proof that it was Malfoy."

I exhaled loudly and headed upstairs. I plopped on my bed and started reading in my Potions book.

*******

"So what do you think Dean sees in her? In Ginny, I mean," Ron asked me later that night.

Ron and I were in our beds, talking about Dean and Ginny. It made me upset and jealous that Max, my own sister, my twin, was dating my crush and my best friend's sister. Of course, I didn't have to tell her that. She already knew that I liked her. Ron and Hermione, I wasn't sure. If they knew, they would have said something. But for now, Max and I were planning to keep it a secret. Especially since if Ginny found out, all hell would break loose.

"Well, what does she see in him?" I replied, looking at the map once again.

"Dean? He's brilliant."

"You called him a slick git not even five hours ago!" I reminded him.

"Yeah. Well, he was running his hands all over my sister, wasn't he? Something just snaps. And you have to hate him, you know?"

"I suppose," I said.

"What do you think? What is it he sees in her?"

"I-I don't know. She's smart, funny," I paused. "Attractive."

"Attractive?"

"You know, she's got nice skin."

"Skin? So you're saying Dean's dating my sister because of her skin?" Ron inquired.

"No, I-I mean, it could be a contributing factor," I quickly told him.

It was true. Ginny was smart, funny, attractive, and completely perfect. There was only one problem, of course, and that problem was Max. Not to be mean, I was happy for her. But she knew that I liked Ginny, and that really hurt.

Ron paused for a moment before speaking again. "Hermione's got nice skin. Wouldn't you say? As skin goes, I mean."

"I've never really thought about it. But I suppose, yeah. Very nice." An awkward silence fell over the two of us as I placed the map on the bedside table beside me. "I think I'll be going to sleep now."

"Right. Yeah," Ron said before drifting off to sleep.

As I put my glasses on top of the map, I saw Malfoy's name. I watched it the entire time Ron and I were talking about Ginny. But as I attempted to go to sleep, I watched the map for a little bit longer. Not far behind Malfoy was Max's name following him. What was Max doing out of bed following Malfoy? She knew better than that to follow our enemy around the castle late at night. As I kept staring down the map, Malfoy's name disappeared, followed by Max's. Before I could come up with any theories, I drifted off to sleep, thinking about Ginny.

*******

I woke up in the middle of the night, unable to go back to sleep. Instead of trying to go back to just that, I decided to go down to the Gryffindor Common Room. For some reason, I had a feeling that something was wrong with Max. I crept downstairs and heard someone crying. I poked my head down to see Max and Ginny on the couch looking into the fire. I sighed sadly and headed back to my room and crawled back into bed. I wondered how Dean would feel when he found out about them being together. Even though Max was happy with her for now, I was ready for them to break up.

Because Ginny Weasley had my heart, and I wanted her to love it.

~~~~~~~
A/N: Awwwww poor Harry. He's hopelessly in love with his sister's girlfriend.
Okay, that sounded weird just saying it out loud.
Anyways, what did you think? I know it's different from the usual chapters I post. I plan on doing more in the future. I know that there will be one at the very end of the fifth book. When I do more of these, it will ONLY be in HARRY'S POV. So keep that in mind.
Do you think Harry will figure out soon that Max slept with Draco? Will she finally tell him? You tell me.
Comment, vote, and expect more updates because Spring Break has officially begun for me. Bye! :D
