chapter two
CLOSED HEARTS
◜ Dinner with the Malfoys ◝
A very low peaceful breathing pattern was the only thing you could hear from Adalina's quarters at the Astro Castle. A small and menacing figure quietly and slowly made its way to the sleeping girl on the bed. The sleeping girl moved lightly, turning onto her side and continuing her peaceful sleep. The figure that was making their way to her stopped, but continued again and prepared to attack.
Suddenly the figured jumped on the sleeping girl. Adalina opened her eyes in alarm as she felt the weight of whoever was on top of her, the person grabbed the pillow and began hitting Adalina in the face. Making her unable to see who it was, but she could guess. Adalina lifted her hands and began to tickle the figure, familiar feminine giggles erupted from the figure as they fell on their back.
"I give! I give!" A young girly voice shouted, as Adalina continued on with her actions. "Addy, please! I cannot breath." Adalina stopped and smiled.
"Aria, you really need to stop waking me up like that. You're lucky I awoke in a good mood." Adalina told her younger cousin.
"Sorry, but it's very fun to see you all alarmed." Aria responded, a mischievous smile on her lips.
Aria Astro, was Adalina's only cousin and family member of her age. Aria was four years younger than her meaning she hadn't entered Hogwarts yet, but everyone in the family could see that she was going to be the exception, in which house she would be sorted in. Everyone knew she would belong in Gryffindor.
She was the only daughter to Adonis Astro, Adalina's only uncle. That was the way their family kept being pure-blood, by not having many children. Aria's mom had died, having been killed by Death Eaters and this was how Aria was born, an emergency induced labor.
"Why are you here Aria? I thought you were helping your dad free house elves back in America." Adalina asked her confused.
"We were but dad got a call from your father, something about some business dinner with the snobby serpents." Aria shrugged with no interest.
"The Malfoy's." Adalina cursed, Aria furrowed her brows in confusion.
"Who are the Malvoy's?" She asked confused, Adalina smiled.
"The Malfoy's..." Adalina corrected her cousin. "Are a snobby family. When they come I need you to act like you don't know who they are, especially with their kid." Adalina told Aria, grabbing unto her shoulders making the youngest look her straight in the eyes.
"But I really do not, know who they are." Aria replied not comprehending anything
"See you're doing perfect already." Adalina smiled in amusement.
—
Lather that evening Adalina stood next to her seat at the table with her family members as the Malfoy family walked in, acting as if the owned the place. They clearly didn't, seeing as they had no relation to the Astro's and after all it was Astro Castle in which they were helding the dinner.
Lucius Malfoy was the first to walk in, followed by Narcissa and then Draco. No one greeted each other, seeing as they despised each other. They all sat down in their respective seats, the three youngest in the left far end. So the adults could discuss their important topics without interruption.
Adalina was seated across from Draco, as Aria was in the end seat next to them. Adalina could feel Draco's icy glare on her as she ignored him and smiled at her younger cousin, helping her cut the food she wasn't able to.
"It's pathetic, how you have to help this child cut her food. She should know how already, or your disgraceful family should get a house-elf." Draco sneered being careful to not let their parents hear him. Aria glared at him, ready to defend her family, but stopped when she saw Adalina's scolding look.
"Just ignore him, he's just an ignorant twat." Adalina told her cousin, just loud enough for Draco to hear. His glare intensified as he kicked her leg under the table. Adalina gasped lowly, and looked at him in anger, a staring contest began within the two.
Aria looked at the two of them and an idea popped into her head, she called over their muggle butler. Telling him something in his ear, which caused him to smile and nod. He left the room after that.
"I've heard some rumors going around that your daughter Adalina is the new Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain. It's such a shame that the Ravenclaw house continues to sink lower, I see no good coming out of that house." Lucius Malfoy expressed, Amadeo Astro shot him a glare. Draco held back a laugh, as Adalina looked at the older Malfoy with hatred.
He was and forever will be proud of his house, he was very prideful and defensive when it came to it. Yet he was even more defensive when it came to his family, Amalia Astro held her husband's hand under the table trying to calm him down. He looked at his wife and nodded discreetly.
"I also see your son hasn't even been named the most important member of his quidditch team. So I guess he must not be good, after all you did have to buy his way in, didn't you?" Amadeo asked Lucius, a kind smile on his face. Lucius was fuming, as Narcissa looked appalled. Amalia sent Narcissa an apologetic smile, the Malfoy woman nodded in appreciation, this exchange went unnoticed by everyone else.
Adalina smirked at her dad's response, she shifted her view onto Draco who was sharing the same reaction as his father. He looked up to Adalina and growled lowly at her. Making Adalina wink at him in amusement.
"Dinner's over. We'll be heading out to our quarters." Lucius Malfoy expressed, the butler had appeared back in the dinning room just in time to lead the Malfoy family out.
Once they were all gone, Adonis Astro laughed smacking his brother's shoulder. "You got that pompous jerk all mad." Amadeo shrugged and drank from his wine glass, shooting Adalina a smile.
—
During midnight that night, Adalina found herself wondering around the castle being unable to sleep. A blue silk sleeping gown, that touched the floor covering her body and sleeping heels on her feet, which are normal low heel shoes.
She decided to visit her secret hiding place in the castle, a place her grandmother had made for her on her 10th birthday. She walked up the fourth floor castle stairs, her sleeping heels making sounds against the marble floor.
From the corner of her eye she saw a figure following her, she internally rolled her eyes at his poor attempt to hide from her, but she continued her journey paying him no mind. As she reached the fifth floor she walked down the right corridor, knowing he was still following her. She reached the dead end of the corridor and muttered a word.
"Enchanted."
A giant wooden door appeared on the wall. As she entered the door started disappearing behind her. She walked inside the room, the first thing to greet her were the decorative armor of two knights which stood next to the door. Pristine white cement walls decorated with gold lanterns. A never ending library, quite literally as it was spell to never end. A silk golden couch and a giant fireplace next to a balcony. Which you could only see from the outside if you knew the word to enter the room.
She sat on the silk couch and grabbed the book she had left open earlier that day. Before she could even begin to read it, the door appeared again and inside walked Draco Malfoy who inhaled deeply as he looked at the annoyed brunette who was staring at him with a raised eyebrow. He jumped when the door disappeared behind him, and as he jumped the two knights that were decorating the entrance pulled their swords over his chest impeding him from walking.
"You are not supposed to be here, it isn't nice to intrude on other people's business." She told him, finally reading her book. He went to move forward but stopped as one of the knight's lifted their sword under his throat. "You shouldn't move, unless you want them to kill you. You see they only allow the people I say can enter and trust me nowhere on that list is the name Draco Malfoy." She replied still not taking her eyes off the page she was reading. "Now answer me Malfoy, why are you wondering around and following me.
"I found a rat in my bed when I went to sleep, my bet is on that muggle butler your family has. So I went to look for my father but then I caught sight of one of your gardeners who was walking around acting quite suspicious, then I saw you and decided to follow you instead." He spoke angered at the situation he was in. His eyes shooting daggers at the two knights that held him back. Adalina put her book down at the mention of a gardener, and Draco stared confused.
"Tell me more about this gardener, did he have long brown hair and green eyes? Was he wearing a white robe?" She asked him, standing up and walking to him.
"Yes. Why the sudden interest?" He asked intrigued.
"None of your business."
"It is my business seeing as I was present when he was talking to a shadowy figure at the entrance of the castle. I could tell you all about their conversation." He replied smugly.
"If you're lying to me Malfoy, you'll regret it." She threatened him, he smirked at her.
"I guess you'll never know unless you tell your little guards to back off." He replied, she sighed and glanced at the knights for a brief second before staring at Draco again, nodding slightly. They pulled their swords back and returned to their inanimate selves.
Draco fixed his black outfit and walked around her, taking in the place. "I see you definitely don't have good taste." He said, as he walked around the room staring at the decoration.
"You've done your lurking. Now tell me what happened." She replied looking at his moving figure.
"Why so impatient? Relax a bit, you need it. Those frown lines aren't doing you any good." He told her, Adalina took in a deep breath trying not to snap at him. He chuckled in satisfaction.
"The faster you tell me, the quicker we can get out of each other's sight." Adalina replied looking at him impatiently, Draco hummed in agreement.
"Well I couldn't hear very well but it was something about. 'Killing two birds with one stone', and 'Marygold Trap'." He replied with zero interest, as he heard nothing from Adalina he turned back to stare at her. She looked deep in thought. "Your anxiousness is filling the whole room with it's stench and it's making me dizzy, so tell me what you are thinking about in that brain of yours."
She ignored him and walked deeper into the room, he followed closely behind as she walked through the bookshelves. She reached an opened book that laid on a marble table, it looked like an index. She found the category 'Marygold' and grabbed Draco's hand, he looked at their intertwined hands in disgust.
"What in the bloody hell are you doing?" He asked, but in a flash she reached down and touched the word on the book and they appeared in front of a bookshelf that had a sign with 'Marygold' on it. She instantly let go off his hand, paying him no attention.
Draco looked around sick, not having been prepared for that. That was a new type of apparition for him, usually it was performed by his mother when they needed to go out of the Manor or go back. Never had it been through a book. As he tried to calm down his uneasy stomach, Adalina continued with her task.
She picked up a thin golden book, called the Marygold Trap and opened it. Flipping through the pages, Draco stared at her as she intensely and rapidly read . He was annoyed at all the commotion that happened in the span of just a few minutes.
Suddenly she stopped at a page and her eyes widened in horror, Draco looked at the page she was staring at and read what it said. "As the family and their visitors rested, the man who would soon bathe in riches plotted. As on the 10th night, he would finally kill the two lords." He read it over and over, analyzing the words but he didn't comprehend.
"Why all the fuss over a children's book?" He asked her confused, she stared at him worried.
"Because it's not a children's book, this was written by my Great-grandfather who was a Seer, he talked about how his great-grandchild would die at the hands of one of his most trusted. He also talked about how his enemy would die next to his great-grandchild. He was never wrong with his visions, the gardener you talked about. His name is Audon, he was my dad's best friend when he was younger, my dad was fascinated by Muggles which is how he met Audon. I've had my suspicions of Audon for a while, as he always spoke ill of my father behind his back." She explained, when she finished she looked at Draco's expression before sighing. "Think about it, my dad and your father are enemies, what if the legend is true." She told him, they kept eye contact as Draco didn't talk, suddenly a smirk plastered itself on his face.
"I knew you were crazy, but not this crazy. Wait till I tell my father how you were trying to kill him." He replied and started to walk away from her through the bookshelves making his way to the entrance. She followed behind him, calling his name.
When they reached the beginning of the library back into the main space, they heard yelling from outside the balcony. They shared a look before they walked over to it, they opened the door and walked outside. Underneath them, five floors down stood Audon and a woman talking. Even though they were far away from them they could still hear the conversation.
"I promise they both will be dead within 10 days, and we'll be free to travel to world." Audon said to the mysterious woman, whose face they were unable to recognize.
"You promised me money, if I married you. I have been married to you for sixteen years now, and I still don't see any money." She replied in pure hatred.
"Give me 10 days, my love." He told her, the woman pushed him away from her and walked away from the Castle. Draco and Adalina walked back inside closing the door.
"Believe me now?" She asked him, he just stared at her with a snarl.

I was very inspired by a song I had heard, so I gave this story a new plotline for the beginning. I also didn't want to jump in straight into the the Prisoner of Azkaban, so I gave them a bit more of a way to develop their relationship.
Also I'm very sorry for any grammar mistake throughout the story, I write fast and on my phone. It would be better written if it was on my computer, but I get more inspired on my phone.
