1 September

With sweaty and cold hands, her mind in an anxious state she wondered around the train looking for a place to seat. Adalina didn't know anyone there having been kept all her life inside her family's castle. She had never interacted with a wizard child other than her young cousin, only adults that came to visit her parents regarding business.

Adalina Astro belonged to a famous Spaniard-Argentinian family of pure-blooded wizards. With that came the fame and riches, unlike most pure-blooded wizards her family didn't care if she befriended or married a muggle born or a half-blood. What mattered to the Astro family was that she did not be sorted into Slytherin. The Astro's — most specifically her dad's side of the family — were known for their disgust and judgement towards any Slytherin especially the Malfoy family.

Both families have had a very vicious rivalry since the beginning of time. Though the Malfoy's visited the Astro Castle at times due to the Ministry, Adalina had never met the infamous Draco Malfoy and she hoped, she never would. Having heard of his reputation of being a spoiled brat, she knew she was better off.

Before her family sent her on the train to Hogwarts that day all they asked her for was, for her to not befriend the youngest Malfoy. To keep clear of him, and obviously to try and excel at school, neither was a problem for her. So she graciously accepted and hopped on the train waving one more goodbye to her parents. Bringing her to where she is now, the nerves finally setting in.

She kept walking by compartments that had space for her. But were full of people, and she didn't want to interact with anyone. She finally found one which only had a boy around her age, with floppy hair and glasses so she decided to knock. The small boy looked up and smiled.

"May I sit here? if it's not a bother of course." She asked nervously fiddling around with her fingers. He shook his head egging her on to sit with him.

"Of course you can!" He exclaimed, Adalina smiled at his attitude and sat across from him.

"I'm Adalina Astro." She introduced herself, extending her hand towards him.

"Harry Potter." Her eyes winded in surprise at his answer, before she could say something a new voice was heard from the door of the compartment.

"Excuse me, do you mind? Everywhere else is full." The voice belonged to a boy with floppy orange hair.

"Not at all." Harry told him, while I shrugged. The boy entered and sat next to me.

"I'm Ron by the way, Ron Weasley." The boy told the two of them. Adalina recognized his last name, her father usually talked about the Weasley's as they were close friends.

"I'm Adalina Astro." She told him, Ron widened his eyes, he also recognized her last name.

"I'm Harry, Harry Potter." Ron's attention instantly turned to the boy. His face full of shock.

"So, so it's true. I mean do you really have the... the scar?" Ron asked him, in a curious and hesitantly way. Harry nodded and lifted up his mop of hair which revealed the lightning shaped scar. "Wicked." Ron exclaimed while Adalina gasped intensely, always one for the dramatics.

"Anything off the trolley, dears?" An old woman asked in a kind voice.

"No thanks, I'm all set." Ron told her gloomily, holding up a bad looking looking sandwich. Adalina scrunched her nose at it, in disgust. Harry glanced at Ron before speaking towards the lady, dogging in his pocket. "We'll take the lot."  He pulled out a lot of money leaving the other two kids perplexed.

A while later, they were surrounded by many candies. They had offered Adalina candy but she had refused, only muttering a witty remark about how eating so much food wasn't good for their health.

"Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans?" Harry asked.

"They mean every flavor." Ron answered, taking a bite out of a piece of candy. While Adalina hummed a song, reading The Daily Prophet. "There's chocolate and peppermint, and there's also spinach, liver and tripe. George swears he got a boogie flavor one time." Harry took the candy bean out of his mouth.

"These aren't real frogs, are they?" Harry asked picking up the Chocolate Frog candy.

"It's just a spell, besides is the card you want. Each pack's got a famous witch or wizard. I've got about 500 myself." Ron replied his mouth full of food, making Adalina gag.

"Watch it!" Ron exclaimed when the frog jumped on the window. The frog jumped out the window.

"Bye bye, frog." Adalina muttered neither of the boys heard her.

"That's rotten luck They've only got one good jump in them." Ron told Harry.

"I've got Dumbledore!" Harry voiced with happiness.

"I got about six of him." Ron replied.

"Hey, he's gone!" Harry told his two new friends in shock.

"You can't expect him to hang around all day, can you?" Ron asked him.

Suddenly a rat appeared on top of Ron, Adalina went to hit it with the paper but Ron picked up the rat.

"What are you doing? That thing is full of diseases." Adalina told him in disgust. Ron shook his head before talking.

"This is Scabbers. Pathetic, isn't he?" Ron told them.

"A little." "Disgusting." Harry and Adalina responded at the same time.

"Fred gave me a spell to turn him yellow. Want to see?" Ron asked them. Adalina nodded in curiosity.

"Yeah." Harry said, Ron cleared his throat ready to perform the spell.

Suddenly a voice that came from the door interrupted Ron. "Has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville's lost one." A girl with voluminous chestnut hair asked them.

"No."

"Oh, are you doing magic? Let's see, then." She said.

"Sunshine, daisies, butter mellow. Turn this stupid, fat rat yellow." Ron said waving his wand around. The box flew off the rat's head but nothing happened. Ron looked at Harry who shrugged, Adalina looked at the perfectly healthy rat disappointed.

"Are you sure that's a real spell? Well, it's not very good, is it?" The girl said, Ron looked exasperated at the two kids sitting in his compartment. "I've only tried a few simple ones myself but they've all worked for me." She said sitting down next to Adalina. "For example: Oculus Reparo." She said waving her wand at Harry's glasses, fixing them. That's better, isn't it?" Harry took his glasses of and looked at Ron, before putting them back on. "Holy cricket, you're Harry Potter! I'm Hermione Granger. And you are...?" She asked Ron.

"I'm Ron Weasley."

"Pleasure." She said in disdain and then turned to look at Adalina expectantly.

"Adalina Astro" She replied, earning a small smile from Hermione.

"You three better change into robes. I expect we'll be arriving soon." She told them, standing up but before she left she turned back to Ron. "You've got dirt on your nose. by the way. Did you know? Just there." She said pointing at a place on her nose. Ron rubbed his nose, looking at her as she left.

Adalina looked amused at the two boys, before she stood up and grabbed the robe she had in the overhead compartment. The two boys looked at her expectantly.

"What are you doing?" Ron asked her.

"If it isn't obvious I'm going to change." She replied, clutching the robe tightly to her chest and walking out.

On her way around the train on the look for the lavatories, now full of confidence. Adalina ran into a boy around the same height as her.

"Sorry." She replied quickly.

"Watch it!" The boy snapped, this made Adalina furious.

"Why don't you shut up, you dingus." She replied angrily, making eye contact with him. She was taken aback by the boy's looks. Grey eyes and blond white hair slicked back.

"That is no way to treat me. Do you know who I am? I am Draco Malfoy." He replied, a disgusted expression took place on Adalina's face. Any idea of him being attractive banished.

"Am I supposed to care about your name? I don't know who you are, but you're a real prick." She said knowing exactly where to hit when it came to a Malfoy. As she left, she made sure to bump their shoulders against one another. She heard him groan in pain behind her at the hard shove, a small smile appeared on Adalina's lips.

Professor McGonagall made the 1st years follow her inside the Great Hall, Hermione walked next to Adalina. The two of them behind Harry and Ron. Adalina looked up at the roof and saw the night sky. Hermione took notice and began talking.

"The ceiling isn't real. It's bewitched to look like the night sky. I read about it in..." Before she could complete the sentence Adalina finished it for her.

"'Hogwarts, A History' I read it too." Adalina told her, Hermione smiled hoping they would get sorted into the same house.

"What house are you hoping you'll get into?" Hermione asked her.

"Well my mum's side of the family are all Hufflepuff's and my dad's side of the family are all Ravenclaw's so one of them hopefully." Adalina replied before halting to stop when Professor McGonagall told them to stop.

"Will you wait along here, please?" She told them. "Now, before we begin...Professor Dumbledore would like to say a few words."

As Dumbledore talked, Adalina took a look around her. She knew that the three friends she made on the train would most likely not end up with her in the same house, so sadly that made her have to socialize. She just hoped she didn't land in Slytherin. Suddenly her name was called out, she was the first one up.

"Adalina Astro?" Professor McGonagall had called out. Murmurs erupted around her mostly from Draco and his friends.

"She's a slimey Astro." Adalina heard him say but ignored him, walking towards the sorting hat. She sat down as McGonagall placed the hat on her head.

"Ah yes... I do see you are quite unique, you have quite of a temper too. You're full of intelligence, yet you are quite lazy that I can see. You do yearn to be kind but I can see you are quite not at times. Very open-minded, I know exactly where to put you. Like father, like daughter. Ravenclaw!" Claps erupted from the Ravenclaw table, a giant smile grazed her face. The hat was removed from her head. She walked over to the Ravenclaw table and smiled at her new house companions.

As names kept being called out, she stood correct the friends she had met on the train were all in Gryffindor. Well socializing couldn't be bad in Ravenclaw right? It's not like she was sorted into Slytherin.

"Mack Van Jong?" Professor McGonagall called out, a blond and fragile looking boy walked forward. He looked nervous, yet confident at the same time if that was possible. The hat was placed on his head.

"Ah, the oldest Van Jong. Quite the artist I see you are. Ravenclaw!" The hat exclaimed, a proud expression on his face he walked over to the table as they greeted him. He sat next to Adalina.

"I'm Adalina Astro." She introduced herself to him, extending her hand out. He grabbed it.

"Mack Van Jong." He replied happily.

"I'm Nova Longbottom." A voice piped up from in front of them, an older looking girl told them.

"Didn't your brother get sorted into Gryffindor?" Mack asked her.

"He did, he's definitely making our grandmother proud." She replied a small smile on her face before her expression changed. "Anyways, I do have some advice for you. In this house, they are very competitive when it comes to school. Don't be surprised if you get stabbed in the back. Yet in the end we are a giant family, you'll be proud to belong here. You'll also love our Head of the House Professor Flitwick who is wonderful, he's going to win professor of the year this year but you didn't hear it from me." She finished with a wink. The conversation continued, Adalina was completely happy with her house. From time to time she could feel a glare on her, she knew exactly who it was.

That night, after solving the question to enter into their common rooms Adalina found out Nova was one of her dorm mates.

Isabela Merced as young Adalina Astro

Nova is one year older than Adalina and Mack.

This is only a flashback, this story will take place in Year 4. Sorry for publishing and unpublishing, I doubt myself so much and try to change so many things.
