Hearts

Red, plump hearts,

Ready for the taking,

Hit it with darts,

It never minds the beating.

Pink, sore hearts,

Doesn't mind the hits,

The bruises never lasts,

Every arrow is a miss.

Grey, soggy hearts,

Drained with disappointment,

Broken, but in the past,

Doesn't feel resentment.

Black, wrinkly hearts,

Hidden away from light,

Broken every single part,

Never wants to fight.
