Fox/If It Isn't the Troublemaker
You pocketed the now stolen credits you had in your hand, walking away as you did so. It's been a lucky week for you and you haven't encountered any of the Coruscant Guards yet, which you find suspicious. Of course, you kept your guard up just in case you were to ever have a run in with them.
Looking in front of you, you smirked as you saw rich looking man and thought about the valuables you were about to have. You quietly approached him from behind since he had his back turned, your eyes with a mischievous glint. You were about to reach into his pocket until you tripped over a misplaced rock, causing you to bump into him. The man quickly turned around to see you and you made a break for it.
"Thief!" He shouted, catching a few ears.
"Shit." You mumbled as you ran, one of the Coruscant Guards noticing you.
The guard chased after you as you took multiple turns hoping to lose him. He was right on your heels and you quickly turned a corner just as he was about to tackle you. You didn't look back and kept running away to find a hiding place. You glanced behind you and didn't see the guard, which had you confused. Not looking where you were going, you turned back around and bumped into someone then fell to the ground. You looked up to see one of the guards staring down at you.
Your lucky streak has ended.
You turned over and attempted to get away but stopped when you were grabbed by the arm, getting pulled up. You tried to free your arm but the guard was much stronger than you. He grabbed your other arm and put it behind your back, cuffing your hands.
"I've apprehended the criminal, sir." He spoke into his helmet.
'A criminal? Is that what they think of me?' You thought.
You were then shoved forward and you took this as a signal to start walking. Your expression soured as you were led to where you think you'd be staying. Your suspicions were proved when the Republic Military Base came into view. You two approached the main door then walked into the building, being led down the hallway. The guard behind you said something you couldn't hear and the blast doors in front of you opened.
'The detention level, of course.' You thought, not surprised.
A different guard you recognized stood up before walking over towards the glass, you shooting him a glare.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the troublemaker." He said, unimpressed.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the pain in my ass." You hissed.
"C'mon, now, that's not how you greet an old friend."
"Oh, kriff you."
"Eh, I'll pass. Take her to one of the holding cells, Thorn."
"Yes, sir." The guard behind you said.
You were then led to an empty cell and you were shoved inside, after all of your possessions have been taken. You internally groaned as you sat in the uncomfortable bed attached to the wall.
"Stupid rock." You mumbled, putting your head your hands.
That little rock was the exact reason of why you were here, and you hated how you got caught. You groaned in frustration and laid down on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. You then began to think back to when your life was easy, where you actually had a good paying job and a place to live. It was about a year ago today that all of it was taken from you.
Flashback:
You walked into your apartment and hung up your keys and coat, taking off your shoes. You were so ready to get some rest after a stressful day at work. You placed your bag on the small table you had and went down the hallway towards your room. You opened the door to your room only to see that it was a mess, as if someone had ransacked it. You rushed around the room to see if any of your valuables were stolen. You searched through the drawers of your dresser and started to panic when you couldn't find your rent money. It was due tomorrow and your landlord wouldn't be too pleased about this.
"No no no no......" You mumbled as you searched the rest of your room, finding nothing.
Although you always paid on your rent on time, the landlord was very strict and didn't like playing around when it came to money. You could only hope that he gave you some time to make up for it.
The following day, you heard loud knocking at your door, knowing who it was. You nervously walked over to your door and opened it to see the landlord, expecting something.
"I assume you have the credits?" He asked, rather impatient.
"Um, about that...." Your voice trailed off.
His expression fell briefly. "Don't tell me you don't have the money."
You looked away and didn't say anything, nothing you could say can get you out of this.
"You can't be serious." He scoffed.
"I'm sorry, if I could just get another week-" You said but you were interrupted.
"I don't want to hear it. I want you out by tonight, got it?"
You widened your eyes at what he said.
"But, sir-" You started.
"You heard me. I better not find you here tomorrow." He said and walked off.
Tears slipped from your eyes as you closed the door and leaned against it, sliding down. You couldn't believe this was happening to you, yet were almost expecting it. You grabbed all of your personal belongings before walking out of the door and out of the building. As if it couldn't get any worse, you got a call from your boss saying that you were fired. After hearing this, you knew you couldn't do anything about it. So you resorted to the thing that was most common in the lower levels, thievery.
Flashback End:
You hadn't realized that you were crying until you went to rub your eyes from exhaustion. You wiped away the tears and tried to get comfortable before falling asleep.

You jolted awake and abruptly sat up, looking around the room fearfully. You brought up your hands and wiped away more tears, figuring you started to cry when you were asleep. The shield barrier to your cell opened and in stepped none other than Commander Fox, holding a tray. You watched him cautiously as he walked further into the cell and placed the tray down on the floor in front of you. He glanced at you sparingly and you quickly looked away, bringing your knees to your chest and hugging them. He left without a word and reactivated the shield barrier, looking at you one more time before leaving. You waited for a bit before slowly getting off the bed and sitting in front of the tray. You picked up one of the utensils and started to eat, wondering why you were given any at all. A few moment passed and Fox came back into the room, sitting in front of you but not too close.
"What do you want?" You asked bitterly, not looking up.
He was silent for a moment as you continue to eat.
"Are you.....are you okay?" He asked hesitantly.
Hearing this, you stopped eating and looked at him to see that his helmet was off, giving you a nice view of his face. You slightly blushed before looking back down, starting to eat again.
"Why do you care?" You asked.
"I saw you crying on the security cameras and wondered if you're okay." He answered honestly.
"Drop the act, I've heard and seen this before."
"This isn't an act."
"Please, next you're going to say that I'm young and shouldn't throw my life away. Well, I got news for you, I can't throw away what was already taken from me."
You didn't spare him a glance as you knew that he was shocked by what you said.
You continued, "Until I was brought in here, I was out there doing my best to get a life."
"Oh, I had no idea." Fox said.
"Just don't, I don't need your pity." You pushed the now empty tray towards him. "Here's your tray."
You stood up and sat down on the bed, and rested your head in your hands. Fox didn't say anything more and stood up with the tray in his hands, going over to the barrier. He was let out before it activated again so you couldn't escape, even though you didn't really plan on escaping.

You looked up tiredly and saw that the shield barrier deactivated before one of the guards stepped in. You looked back down and rubbed your eyes, not caring about what was going to happen to you. You heard someone talking to you but you were too tired to hear what they were saying. You then felt a hand on your arm and you were gently pulled out of the cell, being led down the hallway. You were very tired to even try to comprehend what was going on, and you fell back asleep.

Your eyes slowly opened to find yourself on a comfy surface. You sat up and looked around the room to see that you were no longer in a cell, rather in a nice looking bedroom. You swung your legs over the edge of the bed and your feet came in contact with a soft carpet. A ghost of a smile could be seen on your face as you stood up and walked over to where you think the refresher is. You walked in only to become surprised by how kept it was, seeing that it was nearly brand new. You proceeded to do your business then washed your hands before stepping out of the refresher. The scent of food filled your nostrils and you stepped out of the room you were in, following the scent to the kitchen. You walked in to see Fox making food, whistling as he did so. As if sensing your presence, he turned around and smiled upon seeing you.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the troublemaker." He said teasingly.
You laughed a little, remembering those exact words he said to you earlier.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't an old friend." You said and sat at the table. "What is all this?"
"Oh, I ran a background check on you..." He started.
"Of course you did."
"Hey, I had nothing to do and I felt bad about arresting you."
"Yeah, okay." You laughed.
"Anyways, after running that background check, me and a few of my brothers decided to be nice and give you a proper place to live." He walked over to you and placed a plate of food in front of you.
"Alright, what's the catch here?"
"What?"
"C'mon, no one does this for free."
"Fine, on one condition, you no longer steal anymore and get an actual job."
"Aw, that's no fun!"
"Sorry, I don't make the rules. You do it again you won't live here."
"Ugh, fine, I'll get an actual job." You started to eat your food.
"That's the spirit."
He placed a plate of food in the spot across from you before turning off the stove and putting the dirty pan in the sink. He took off the apron he had and hung it on a hook before sitting across from you.
"How would you feel if I stole someone's heart?" You asked out of the blue.
"Okay, first of all, that's murder-" Fox started.
"What, how? You're here alive and well."
He stopped talking upon hearing what you said and looked at you, surprised.
"What?" You said, feeling uneasy. "If it makes you feel better, you stole my heart."
He then smiled widely and stood up, walking around the table over to you. You looked up at him with a smile as he grasped your hands, making you stand up from your seat.
"I thought guards weren't supposed to fall in love with their criminals." You said.
"Who said you were a criminal?" He asked and winked.
"Your buddy did when he caught me, although I prefer the term thief."
"Well, you're my thief." He then wrapped his arms around your waist. "Because like you said, you stole my heart."
"And you stole mine. Heh, I guess that makes you one too."
He only hummed in response as you hugged him and leaned against him.
"But seriously, how much would a heart cost if I sold it on the black market?" You asked darkly.
"(Y/n)!"
