You sighed in content as you walked down the corridor towards the medbay. You are a medic under the guidance of Kix, so you spent most of your free time with the 501st. That being said, you saw Fives standing in front of a door awkwardly, which you find rather suspicious. You approached him and he freaked out a little upon seeing you.

"Oh, uh, hey, (Y/n). What's up?" He asked, somewhat worried.

"Why are you blocking the door like that?" You asked.

"L-Like what?"

"You're hiding something aren't you?"

"H-Huh? No, I'm not."

"I'm not stupid, I know you're lying."

He gave an awkward smile and averted his eyes, you knowing that he was lying. You rolled your eyes and pushed past him and into the room he was supposedly 'guarding'.

"Wait no-" He tried to stop you but you were already past the door.

What you saw next, made you full of concern. You saw that Echo was swaddled up in two or three blankets and tissues strewn about.

"Ah, (Y/n)," he started before coughing. "You weren't s-supposed to see me l-like this."

You rushed over to him and sat on your knees, placing a hand to his head.

"Why didn't you tell me about this?" You asked in a concerned tone.

"I d-didn't want you to t-tell Kix." Echo says and coughs.

You frowned as you retracted your hand and looked into his tired eyes.

"How long has this been going on?" You asked softly.

He didn't answer as he let out another cough.

"Please, tell me. I promise I won't tell Kix." You say.

He looked in your eyes to see that you were telling the truth.

"T-Two days." He answers and sneezes.

"Oh, Echo." You say and hug him.

He manages to hug back and places his head on your shoulder, closing his eyes. You start to run a hand through his hair and he hums in response. You used your other hand to lift his head to look at you and he blinked tiredly. You leaned up and pressed a kiss to his forehead, causing him to pull you closer.

"I'm going to stay and help you get better." You say.

"But w-what if," he sneezed again, "what of Kix f-finds out?"

"That's not going to stop me from making you feel better."

"I-I don't want you t-to get in t-trouble."

"Shush, I'm staying with you no matter what."

You hugged him again and he pulls you closer, if possible. Soon, he fell asleep still holding you and you couldn't help but smile.

Over the next few days, you kept your promise of staying to make him feel better. You never left the room he was in unless you needed to use the refresher. You had Fives retrieve snacks and more tissues. Most of the time, Echo was a cuddle bug and insisted on cuddling with you, to which you happily obliged. He's been getting better, however, his condition now only resorted to small coughing fits and sniffles. But you stayed to make sure he was completely better and no longer had a fever.

"Y'know, you're more affectionate when you're sick." You say, slightly laughing.

You could only smile as you reached up and pressed a kiss to his forehead. His fever seemed to have died down but there was still a slight warmth present.

"Well, it seems you're getting better." You said, him looking at you. "You should no longer feel sick in the next day or two."

His expression turned to an upset one when he heard this, and you became worried.

"Hey, what's wrong?" You say, wanting to comfort him.

"I still want to cuddle with you." He said quietly but you caught it.

You were slightly confused but didn't ask as he continued.

"I want to cuddle with you more, even after I get better." He says.

You understood what he was trying to say and smiled.

"Of course, my door will be open for you." You reassure.

He grew happy at your reassurance and hugged you, burying his face in your neck. You wrapped your arms around his neck and brought a hand up to his hair, combing it.

"Aww, you're such a sweetheart." You say in a teasing tone.

He only proved your statement by humming in response and started to gently kiss your neck. You closed your eyes in content, resting your head against his shoulder.

"(Y/n)?" You hear Echo ask.

"Yeah?" You reply, looking up at him.

"Thank you. For taking care of me."

You smiled. "Of course, I just want to make you feel better."

He smiled and pressed his forehead against your own, humming slightly. You two enjoyed each other's presence and Echo was already better; by being with you.
