501st/Emotional Support Civie
The moment you stepped into the clone barracks, the 501st adopted you. You weren't really supposed to be there, you had accidentally gotten lost and wandered into their barracks. But that didn't matter, because right now one of the troopers identified as Echo was sitting in front of you as you read one of your favorite books to him, War of the Worlds, reading chapter four. The others you met listening in as well.
"....The end of the cylinder was being screwed out from within. Nearly two feet of shining screw projected. Somebody blundered against me, and I narrowly missed being pitched onto the top of the screw. I turned, and as I did so the screw must have come out, for the lid of the cylinder fell upon the gravel with a ringing concussion. I stuck my elbow into the person behind me, and turned my head towards the Thing again. For a moment that circular cavity seemed perfectly black. I had the sunset in my eyes...." You read aloud.
Just as you were about to read the next paragraph, a person you didn't know walked into the room.
"Uh, who's that?" He asked, gesturing towards you.
"We found her wandering the barracks, General." One who called himself Jesse said.
"Hello." You said and smiled.
"She's currently reading to us right now and it's getting interesting." Echo said.
"C'mon, I want to know what happens next!" One named Kix exclaimed.
You turned your attention back down to the datapad in your hands and began to read again.
"....I think everyone expected to see a man emerge--- possibly something a little unlike us terrestrial men, but in all essentials a man. I know I did. But, looking, I presently saw something stirring within the shadow: greyish billowy movements, one above another, and then two luminous disks--- like eyes. Then something resembling a little grey snake, about the thickness of a walking stick, coiled up out of the writhing middle, and wriggled in the air towards me--- and then another...."
"Ooh, freaky." One named Dogma commented.
"You know what, I'm just gonna leave." said their General and he left.
"Can you continue, please?" One named Tup asked.
"Of course." You said.
You cleared your throat and started to read the next paragraph.

"....Everything was then quite invisible, hidden by the deep pit and the heap of sand that the fall of the cylinder had made. Anyone coming along the road from Chobham or Woking would have been amazed at the sight--- a dwindling multitude of perhaps a hundred people or more standing in a great irregular circle in ditches, behind bushes, behind gates and hedges, saying little to one another and that in short, excited shouts, and staring, staring hard at a few heaps of sand. The barrow of ginger beer stood, a queer derelict, black against the burning sky, and in the sand pits was a row of deserted vehicles with their horses feeding out of nosebags or pawing the ground." You read, finishing off the chapter.
"Geez, and I thought fighting battle droids was scary." You heard Hardcase say.
"Yeah, this is a whole 'nother level!" One named Fives agreed.
The conversation was cut short when the devices on their wrists went off.
"Aw, man! I wanted to spend more time with her!" You heard Hardcase complain.
"We'll be able to do that later, but right now the Captain needs us." Echo says and stands up.
You didn't want them to leave because you would be alone if they did, they were the only ones you knew.
"Wait, what about her? We can't just leave her here by herself." Jesse said.
Some of them turned to you and looked back at their brothers, nodding. They began to talk about who should stay here with you. After some intense arguing, they decided that Tup should stay with you and he was rather ecstatic. The other boys said their goodbyes before leaving the two of you alone.
"So, uh, what do you want to do?" You asked.
"I don't know, this hasn't happened before." Tup said.
Just then, an idea popped into your head.
"Can I braid your hair?" You ask softly.
He looked at you and saw excitement in your eyes then smiled.
"Yeah, I don't mind." He answered.
He took down his bun and handed you the hairband, putting it on your wrist. He sat in front of you with his back to you. You brought your hands up to his hair and started to comb through it, feeling its softness.
"Your hair is so soft." You said as you continued to comb his hair.
He didn't say anything but acknowledged it by giving a low hum. You then separated his hair into three thick strands and started to braid it. You were too focused and didn't hear the door open along with the sound of footsteps.
"Oh hey, Tup, it was a false alarm. Turns out, it was only a debriefing." Fives said.
Tup only hummed in response, distracted by how good your hands felt in his hair. You stuck out your tongue a little due to concentration, keeping your gaze on your hands. Soon, you finished braiding his hair and took the hairband from your wrist, securing the braid.
"There you go." You said.
You turned to see that the boys were back and you gave a warm smile, happy they're back.
"Hi, guys!" You exclaimed.
Their hearts melted at your wholesomeness and were fighting the urge to aww. Then you heard your stomach growl.
"Uh, can we get something to eat? I'm hungry." You said and stood up.
"Ya know what? I'm kinda hungry too, we should go to the mess hall." Hardcase suggested.
He walked over to you before turning around and crouched a bit. You knew what he was doing and climbed onto his back, securing your arms around his neck. His hands supported your thighs and he stood up before dashing out of the room, his brothers close behind. You laughed in excitement and set your head on his left shoulder. Other troopers around you were confused of who you were yet didn't stop to ask. You and the boys arrived in the mess hall in a matter of minutes and went over to an empty table. Hardcase gently sat you down as some of the boys took their seats at the table.
"You stay here, me, Jesse, and Fives will go get the food." He said to you.
"Okay." You said and smiled before they left.
You turned around and sat next Echo, who was talking with Tup. You laughed internally at the predicament you were in, actually liking where you're at right now. Dogma sat in front of you and leaned forward, gaining your attention.
"How did you end up in our barracks?" He asked, also gaining the others attention.
"Oh, um, I was getting lonely in my apartment and wanted some friends, now I'm here with you guys." You answered.
They took a moment to process your answer and some of them smiled. Hardcase, Jesse, and Fives returned with the food and gave everyone equal portions.
"Hey, do you mind reading some more?" asked Echo.
"Yeah, the book you're reading is freakishly interesting." Fives said as he sat down.
"Sure, I don't mind!" You exclaimed.
You took out your datapad and opened the book, selecting chapter five.
"Chapter Five: The Heat-Ray." You read aloud.
Some of the boys grew curious, wanting to know what happens next and you began to read.
"....After the glimpse I had of the Martians emerging from the cylinder in which they had come to the earth from their planet, a kind of fascination paralyzed my actions. I remained standing knee-deep in the heather, staring at the mound that his them. I was a battleground of fear and curiosity.
"....I did not dare to go back towards the pit, but I felt a passionate longing to peer into it. I began walking, therefore, in a big curve, seeking some point of vantage and continually looking at the sand heaps that hid these newcomers to our earth. Once a leash of thin black whips, like the arms of an octopus, flashed across the sunset and was immediately withdrawn, and afterwards a thin rod rose up, joint by joint, bearing at its apex a circular disk that spun with a wobbling motion. What could be going on there?
"....Most of the spectators had gathered in one or two groups--- one a little crowd towards Woking, the other a knot of people in the direction of Chobham. Evidently they shared my mental conflict. There were few near me. One man I approached--- he was, I perceived, a neighbour of mine, though I did not know his name--- and accosted. But it was scarcely a time for articulate conversation...."
"Alright, what's going on here?" A voice interrupted.
You all looked up and the boys seemed to recognize the person.
"Who is this and what is she doing in here?" He asked.
"Okay, uh, Rex, don't get mad but we sorta, kind of took her in." Echo said.
You set down your datapad and stood up walking over to Rex.
"You must be their captain! My name is (Y/n), you're so brave for fighting in the war!" You exclaimed and smiled.
He couldn't help but smile back because of your cheery attitude.
"Forget this conversation ever happened, boys. Just be sure to keep this a secret." He said and turned around.
"Yes, sir!" They all said in unison.
He started to walk away and you returned to your seat, picking up your datapad.
"Now, where was I?" You asked.
They all smiled as you began to read the rest of the chapter.

"....I remember I felt an extraordinary persuasion that I was being played with, that presently, when I was upon the very verge of safety, this mysterious death--- as swift as the passage of light--- would leap after me from the pit about the cylinder and strike me down." You finished off the chapter.
"Maker, that is so unsettling yet so intriguing." Echo said.
"Yeah, this is a whole new level of fear." Jesse agreed.
Then their comms went off, again, but this time it was for a different reason. And you had to go along with them. They all simultaneously stood up and you stood up moments later. You grabbed your datapad before you felt a hand on your back, leading you out of the room.
"Don't worry, we'll protect you." Fives next to you said.
You looked up at him curiously before turning your attention back in front of you. You and the boys then walked into a room with people you did not know, and they looked kind of mad, or so you think. Rex was standing behind someone you recognized but didn't know the name of. You suddenly grew nervous as the people had their gaze on you.
"Would one of you care to explain this?" One asked as he stroked his beard.
No one said anything until Rex was brought into the situation. He stood in front of the group with his back towards you.
"Guys, you know you can't just bring in normal civilians." their General, you think, said.
Echo was about to say something but Rex beat him to it.
"Sir, with all due respect," he started and looked at you before speaking again, "she's our emotional support civie."
"I'm sorry, she's your what?" their General asked.
A small argument started and you were beginning to regret ever wandering into their barracks, knowing this was your fault.
"I'm sorry, this is my fault." You whispered and looked down.
"Hey, this is not your fault. If anything, it's ours for taking you in." Echo comforted.
You looked up at him to see a smile across his face and you smiled back, feeling a little at ease. The door to the room opened and the small argument ceased when someone walked in.
"Is there a problem here?" They asked.
You smiled wider, you could recognize that voice anywhere. You squeezed through the boys and rushed over to the person, recognizing him immediately.
"Papa Plo!" You shouted and hugged him.
"(Y/n), it's good to see you." Plo said and hugged back.
Everyone else became stunned by the interaction that just took place.
"I've missed you." You said, pulling back.
"And I missed you, too, little one." He said.
"Okay, what's happening?" someone asked.
You turned around to see a confused/surprised look on their faces.
"Oh, um, actually," you started.
"She's my adopted daughter." Plo finished for you proudly.
You laughed a little before giving a confirming nod, ensuring his statement. This only confused everyone even more.
"(Y/n) hasn't caused any trouble, has she?" He asked.
"No, but explains why she's so kind." Rex said.
"It seems I've taught her well then."
You looked up at him and gave a cheeky smile. Plo Koon insisted that you could stay to, as he puts it, 'help the clones with emotional support'. The others were reluctant but they agreed nonetheless and you were beyond happy. The 501st boys showed you around to the others barracks and you met the 212th, the Wolfpack, and other battalions. And despite having only just meeting you, they already took a liking to you.
Your warm and bubbly personality made all the clones come to you for emotional support and you wouldn't mind being there for them, treating them with the love and respect they deserve.
