Steven was walking with Peridot and Lapis to the Big Donut. Andy had come in from his flight to Europe and needed a place to stay for a while, so Steven, Peridot, and Lapis (well Lapis more nodded while shooting death glares at Andy) graciously invited Andy to stay at the barn while Peridot and Lapis would bunk with Steven and the Crystal Gems. Steven was practically bouncing up and down as they rounded the corner of the temple and The Big Doughnut came into view.

"Oh man you guys, I can't believe you've never had a doughnut before!"

"Well, we've never really eaten before either Steven..." Peridot said to the excited boy.

"And I don't know if I'm going to like this Steven. I mean, it took me so long to get used to the earth, and I'm still getting used to it." Lapis said to the boy. Steven started to deflate a little, realizing that his friend was nervous, before brightening back up again, like the little ball of sunshine he is.

"Well, I'm glad that The Big doughnut gets the honor of being your first food! My dad once told me a story about when I was younger, I hated the first baby food that he gave me, until he looked at the jar and realized that it was a jar of garlic paste." Peridot looked at Steven curiously, probably wondering what Garlic was, while Lapis gave a soft chuckle. "Needless to say, the second baby food I tried I loved, and I've loved food ever since!"

"So you're saying that were not going to like the doughnuts, since there our first foods?" Steven face-palmed himself, realizing that his baby food mix-up story was probably not the best one to tell his friends in the moment. He quickly rebounded, however, and with a resounding "NOPE!" pushed open the door to the Big Doughnut. Sadie was at the counter, counting the change, while Lars was rocking out to something on his headphones while pouring 2 cups of coffee.

"Oh, good morning Steven! The usual today?" Sadie noticed Steven walk in with the 2 gems and smiled. Steven was always her favorite person to see at The Big Doughnut everyday. Ever since the island adventure that he had taken with her and Lars, Lars seemed to be nicer to Sadie at work, even inviting her over to watch some scary movies from time to time.

"Hello Sadie my lady!" Sadie blushed at the sudden compliment. Lars looked over and gave a quick wave before returning to his work. "I would like the usual yes, but my 2 friends here have never had a doughnut before! Can you educate them on which ones are the best while I go get a Lion Lickers for Lion?" Sadie nodded and Steven gave his 2 friends a thumbs up before walking over to the Lion Lickers fridge and opening it with a small cringe of dislike, and started to look for the perfect treat for his feline friend.

"So you two must be Steven's new friends. I've heard a lot about you." Sadie said with a smile.

"About us?" Lapis exclaimed, worrying how much Steven told this mystery person.

"Yea! He always talks about how cool you guys are. He even mentioned that you," She pointed at Peridot, "just discovered some crazy cool metal powers and that you," Sadie whirled around and pointed at Lapis, who became startled from the sudden eye contact, "have really cool water teknisis powers, and that he loves flying with you!"

Peridot and Lapis looked shocked. Steven really loved them that much to say all of those wonderful things about them? Why had they ever doubted his doughnut choice? Obviously he cared about them enough not to give them something horrible.

"Have you guys ordered yet?" Steven asked curiously?

Lapis spoke up first. "Yes, well have 2 of what Steven gets, thank you," She looked close at the name tag on the workers shirt, "Sadie. Thank you Sadie."

Sadie handed the bag filled with doughnuts to Steven. "Hey Peri, will you pay for me while I go find us a seat outside?"

"Sure Steven." Peridot took the money from him and was prepared to pay when Sadie peeped up sheepishly.

"Sorry, I know that you gems are like, thousands of years old, but im required to ask if your over the age of 10 if your going to pay." Sadie blushed.

"Please. Us Peridot's have become much smarter in the last day and age and im the best of the best. Im 5 opporational earth years old. Obviously in the most optimal and prime Peridot generation out there." Peri said with a smirk and tried to hand the money over.

"WHAT! THAT MAKES YOU MY LITTLE SIS!" Little did Peri know that Steven had heard all of this. He snached the money away from Peridot and quickly payed Sadie and pulled Peridot and Lapis. Peridot looked embarrassed.

"Please Steven. Just because i'm 5 doesn't mean that I don't have all of the knowledge of the universe, which I do!" Peridot tried to play off the whole situation.

"Nope! Now eat your doughnuts!" Steven exclaimed, happily biting in to his. Peridot and Lapis both looked at theirs apprehensively before taking a bite. Stars appeared in their eyes as they tasted the sweet chocolate of the confectionary.

"Not like garlic paste?" Steven asked while chewing.

Peridot spoke up, "Not at all."
