Chapter 4: Training for the UA Exam

DING DONG~

"(Y/N), can you get the door for me, please?!" I sighed before getting myself off my lovely bed.

It was now 7:30 in the morning, and I felt drained. All that stuff that happened yesterday must have taken an enormous toll on me. However, I wouldn't be surprised if I overused my quirk, so I hope to use it still today...

Finally, unlocking the front door, I opened it. The bright sun shone through, making me squint my eyes. Man, I wish that it wasn't because I could barely see the figure standing before me.

"Tsk took you long enough," I felt someone push me to the side before they walked in. Then, closing the door, I turned around, rubbing my eyes.

"What the hell..." I rub my eyes once more before opening my eyes- now being able to see, "Katsu?"

"That's my name," He huffed, already in his black school clothes, "Don't overuse it."

"Why are you-"

"I'm here to take you to school. You got a problem with that." Katsu turned his face away, shoving his hands into his pockets.

"Will you please let me finish my sentences!" I barked. Most of the time, I am not a morning person. However, when I am low on energy, or it is that time of the month.

The answer was the first one.

"Whatever, just go get dressed, or I'll leave you behind," He walked over to the living room like he owned the place and sat down on the couch.

"Then what's the point of being here?" I mumbled to myself before doing what he said.

After I was ready, I walked downstairs with my bookbag in hand and his now clean set of clothes that I wore the night prior. He stood up, walking halfway to me. His red eyes gazed at the clothes then back up to me.

"Here," I shoved his clothes into his hands, "Those are your clothes from yesterday."

"I don't want them," Katsu pushed them back to me, "It doesn't fit me anymore. I was going to throw them away, but whatever." I raised an eyebrow to him, so confused about what kind of shit he was on.

"So you want me to keep them?"

"Do I have to repeat myself?!" He snarled.

"Calm down, boy." I laughed, smiling, "Just asking a question to make sure."

"I'M NOT A DOG!"

"(Y/N) whose-" Amaya's voice rang through the room, making me look at her, "Oh, your that boy from last night? Katsuki Bakugo, Mitsuki's son, right?"

As soon as I got home last night, Katsu and Mitsuki went up to the door with me.

Amaya and Katsu's mom ended up talking for a bit as both of us talked back and forth about homework. Amaya got filled in on what happened, which ended up me getting bitched out and cried on. That happened after the two left.

Afterward, Katsu and I FaceTimed when he got home. Him saying that the only reason why he bothered to answer was that I was dumb. Knowing that he told me the complete opposite earlier, we bickered back and forth.

We ended up finishing the homework at 1:30 in the morning.

"Yeah!" I smiled, "He said that he was going to take me to school today!"

"Well, have fun, you two!" Amaya walked out of sight, walking into the kitchen, "Don't get into too much trouble, trouble maker!" After last night, she started calling me by my nickname again due to the recent events.

"No promises!" I turned my head back to Katsu, who was staring down at me in confusion, "Let me bring these back up to my room, M'Kay?"

We walked side by side when we finally went onto the sidewalk. By now, it was 7:45, earlier than what I'm used to since I am usually running late. Most of the time, it's either because I'm talking to Amaya for too long or I don't want to get out of bed. Thus, having me use my quirk to get to the train station on time.

Honestly, I was somewhat nervous about going back to school. Zuku would be there, and so would Katsu. I plan on keeping my promise not to ignore them or favor the other. On top of that, Katsu isn't fond of him, so I wonder how he will react. With me being on both sides of the coin.

"Oi," I snapped out of my state, realizing that I was staring at Katsu, "Take a photo. It lasts longer."

We were sitting next to each other on the train, which surprised me. I don't even remember taking the route here, rather alone being here.

Deciding that I wanted to be a smart ass today- or like any other day, I smirked.

Grabbing my phone out of my pocket, I quickly snapped a photo of him.

"What the hell?!" He tries to takes my phone away, "I didn't mean that you can actually take a photo of me!"

"You gave me permission." I shrugged, trying to hold my phone away from him, "Besides, you looked adorable in it." His eyes widen, trying to process the words that came out of my mouth.

"S-Shut up!" He stuttered, looking like he was trying to hide his blush, "I'm not adorable!"

"Oh?" I kept my smirk, now raising an eyebrow, "Oh~ That's right, I called you a pretty boy."

"I swear to god, (Y/N). If you say that one more time, I'm going to murder you," Katsu growled, making me widen my eyes in shock.

Did he just call me by my first name? No Glitchy? No Nerd? No Last Name?

On top of that, when he's mad?!

"What kind of shit are you on right now?!" I barked teasingly, getting my face closer to his, "What in the fuck did you do to the real Katsuki Bakugo?! You are an impostor~!"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!" He yelled, getting everyone's attention on the train, "WHAT KIND OF SHIT ARE YOU ON?!"

"So, you're telling me that the REAL KATSUKI BAKUGO called me by my first name?!" I gasp in fake shock, putting my hands onto my face as I backed away, "That can't be true~!"

"I'M THE FUCKING REAL DEAL, YOU FUCKING NERD!" Katsu aggressively took my wrists, pulling my hands off my face.

"Oh? There you are!" I smiled, "Welcome back, Katsu."

"WHY IN THE FUCK-" He stopped short as I started giggling, "Huh?"

"You called me by my name silly," With his hands still on my wrist, I flicked his forehead, "I was just making sure that it was actually you."

"Glitchy?"

"No"

"Nerd?"

"No!"

"(L/N)?"

"NO!"

"THEN WHAT IN THE FUCK DID I CALL YOU BY?!"

"YOU CALLED ME BY MY ACTUAL NAME!" I yelled, starting to get frustrated, "YA KNOW! (Y/N)!"

"That's you're name?" Katsu smirked, his face telling me that he liked pushing my buttons.

"I hate you," I pouted, looking away at him.

"If you hated me," He started, putting his fingers on my chin so I could face him, "You wouldn't have been asking to be my friend the other day."

"So what?! I can change my mind!"

"Nope, you are stuck with me, sweetheart." I felt butterflies in my stomach when he said those words. Finally, though, I decided to ignore it. Instead, forcing down a smile, I grabbed his wrist before leaning closer to his face.

At this moment in time, I had no clue what the fuck I was doing.

"Ya know," I smirked, getting even closer, "You may regret that someday."

"U-uh-"

"Arrived, please step away from the doors when opening." I smiled, hearing the announcement, before standing up to leave.

"Come on, pretty boy," I laughed, turning my head back at Katsu, "Don't want to be late for school!"

"I TOLD YOU NOT TO CALL ME THAT!" He barked, grabbing my hand after he stood up, dragging me out of the train.

"I don't see you murdering me,"

"There are too many people around," Katsu didn't look back at me as he weaved us through the crowd.

"Oh? You rather do that in private, huh?" He stopped, pulling his arm forward as I swung in front of him. I saw his face; his skin dusted with pink as his red eyes were widened a little. Now that I think of it, I have never seen Katsu blush before.

"What in the hell do you mean by that?!" Katsu growled as his face got close to mine, his eyes narrowing down at mine.

"Get your head outta the gutter," I flicked his forehead, "It's just harmless teasing Katsu. Besides, you don't know or understand sarcasm very well."

''Fuck you,"

"When?" I started as a smirk formed on my face, "Where? And how hard?"

"WHAT IN YOUR GOD DAMN MIND DO YOU THINK THAT I WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOU?!" I flicked his forehead again.

"See?" I giggled, grabbing his hand to pull him towards the direction of the school, "You take things WAY too seriously, Katsu. You need to relax once in a while."

"I'm regretting this..."

"As you told me yourself, Katsuki Bakugo," I turned my head back at him, closing my eyes with a smile, "You are stuck with me, sweetheart."

"Shit." I rolled my eyes as we kept walking.

As soon as we started seeing students from our school, we let go of each other's hands. I rather not let other students think that we are together or anything. Having students feel that I'm dating Zuku is already enough for me. I don't need another one, let alone with it being with Katsu.

Knowing Katsu, he would flip out and wreak havoc around the school. Even to the point that he may not want to be friends anymore. He tends to speak before thinking, and I rather not feel like he doesn't want to be around me. I just, finally, got him to be friends with me again. Now, I just have something else to worry about.

Zuku and Katsu being in the same room. Oh god, I now have to tell Zuku that I'm friends with his bully.

"(Y/N)!" Then, turning around, I see Zuku running over to us, "Oh, Kacchan!? I didn't know that you guys walked together to school today?"

SHIT! NOT NOW?!

"Got a problem with that, Deku?" I felt a hand wrapped around my waist, pulling me right next to them, "We decided to become friends again."

"That's great to hear!" I looked into Zuku's eyes, trying to see if I can decipher him. But, unfortunately, I couldn't read him as his green eyes stared down at Katsu's hand on my waist.

"Y-Yeah," I nervously chuckled, pushing Katsu's hand off my waist, stepping away from him, "We talked things out last night after the slime ball thing."

"Y-You did?" I nodded in reply.

"After I couldn't find you, Katsu ended up bringing me home."

"Yeah, after she had dinner with my family," Katsu smirked while narrowing his eyes, glaring at Zuku, "We even FaceTimed afterward to do homework until 1:30 in the morning."

"You did?" Zuku's eyes widen.

"Yeah," I mumbled, "W-Well, I have to get to my homeroom. See you guys during class!" After saying that, I quickly took off.

That WHOLE entire situation was too much for my brain to handle. So what the actual hell was that? I know that I shouldn't have left like that, but it was so weird. Katsu even went as far as to grab my waist in front of him. On top of that, I couldn't read Zuku's face. I've never seen that before since he is always so emotional?

"(L/N)!" I rolled my eyes, "Are you okay?! I heard that you were involved in the villain attack yesterday,"

Can't I take a break today!

"Yeah, I'm fine." I turned around, seeing one of the girls from my homeroom class, "It wasn't- wait. How do you know?"

"It's all posted online! They even CREDITED you!" My eyes widen.

"W-What?!" I stuttered in disbelief, "How in the hell-" A group of students started storming me, taking out their phones to take photos of me.

"You're SO cool! You helped the number one hero!"

"Can I get an autograph?!"

I can't take this!

"Clockwork Enable - Time Barricade!" The area around me turned black and white as I pushed through the crowd. Not wanting to waste any of my own time, I walked into my homeroom. I don't want to be here. Sitting down in my seat, I deactivated my quirk.

~*~ Time Skip to Next Class ~*~

I pushed past the crowd of people that was trying to talk to me. This was getting ridiculous, and not even my homeroom teacher did anything about it. It was only the second class of the day. I just want to go home, so I don't have to deal with this.

Slamming the door behind me, I took a deep breath of relief. The swarm of students piled behind the door as I heard their voices. Pulling my hands to my head, I rub my temples. My headache was killing me, and I know that it wasn't because I overused my quirk.

"Got quite a crowd, don't you?" I slid down the door onto the ground with a groan.

"Shut up. I just want to go home now."

"Then why don't you go home then?" I opened my eyes, seeing a set of green eyes. Zuku was kneeling at my level with concern in his eyes.

"Zuku, Amaya would kill me!" I whined, putting my head on his shoulder, "She is now calling me by my old nickname. I can't put more things onto her shoulders. Amaya already has so much on her plate."

"Nickname?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow at me.

"Trouble maker," Feeling him chuckle against my head, I groaned, "Can you please hug me? I need one right now." Zuku wrapped his arms around me without hesitation. Now, finally relaxing, I could think clearly. He has always made me feel safe and sane when times like this happen.

"You know, that nickname does suit you" I didn't even have to see to know that he was smiling, "There is always something happening with you. But the (Y/N) I know knows that she can get through anything. Even when Kacchan was looking down at me, you stood up to me. So that day that you asked to be my friend, I was happy. Never in my life, I thought that I would have someone like you who will be by my side."

"You're too sweet," I smiled, pulling away, "Besides, why wouldn't I stand up for you? You have been nice to me ever since I transferred here. Zuku, you helped me so much, and I cannot thank you enough. I wouldn't have it any other way."

"You two nerds done yet?" Zuku jumped back, hitting his head at the back of the blackboard.

"Kacchan! I-I didn't see you there!" He chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his head.

"You okay-" I felt my arm being grabbed, pulling me up to my feet, "K-Katsu?!" The said guy didn't say anything as he dragged me over to our desks.

Nothing was said for the rest of the day of classes.

Zuku wasn't looking at me and was mumbling a lot more than usual. I couldn't understand his mumbles as the teachers kept talking about subjects in the classes. Let alone; I rarely focused on any of the classes. I was more focused on the whole situation with Zuku, Katsu, and the after-effects of the villain attack that I couldn't write down any notes.

Putting my hands into my arms, I groaned.

Today is the worst day ever. Well, except for THAT day- there is nothing that can top that.

"Oi, what's up with you?"

"I don't want to talk about it," I mumbled, "There is so much going on right now."

"Like with the whole attack thing?"

"Yes and no." Looking up, I saw that we are the only two people in the room, "Where's Zuku?"

"Deku?"

"WHO ELSE DO YOU THINK I AM TALKING ABOUT?!" I stand up, slamming my hands onto my desk, "WHAT IN THE FUCK DID YOU DO?!"

"I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!" Katsu yelled, standing up too.

"THEN WHY IN THE FUCK DID YOU SAY THOSE THINGS! LIKE WHEN YOU GRABBED MY WAIST IN FRONT OF ZUKU?!"

"(Y/N)-"

"OR WHEN YOU PICKED ME UP OFF THE GROUND! HE LOOKED SCARED!"

"CALM DOWN-"

"THIS WHOLE DAY, I HAVE BEEN WORRYING ABOUT HOW YOU AND ZUKU WOULD REACT AFTER BECOMING FRIENDS AGAIN! YOU HAVE ALWAYS HAD SOMETHING AGAINST HIM, AND I WAS AFRAID OF HOW YOU WOULD REACT OR EVEN ZUKU! ON TOP OF THAT, I HAVE HAD PEOPLE HARASSING ME ABOUT THE ENTIRE VILLAIN ATTACK! HOW IN THE FUCK CAN I CALM DOWN?!" I put my hands up onto my face, feeling the tears threatening to leave my eyes.

"I-I'm sorry," Katsu's voice softened, "I didn't think..."

"You don't think. You just act," My voice cracks.

"I should have thought on how you thought of everything." I felt my hands being gently pulled away from my face, "What I did was out of jealously because of how close you two are. You were one of my first actual friends that I made in a while. I care about you, but when DEKU-" I glared at him, Katsu visually gulped before starting again.

"I just acted. I didn't think. I didn't want him to steal your attention again, making you forget about me. We just started back our friendship, and I didn't want to ruin it again. So... I may have had told him a couple of things?"

"What did you tell him, Bakugo?" I sternly asked, narrowing my eyes.

He was scared.

Katsuki Bakugo was scared.

"After you left, I-" He paused, looking away, "I told him to stay away from you..."

"You. Did. What?"

"(Y/N)-"

"Bakugo, you are going to apologize to Izuku."

"WHY IN THE FUCK-"

"If you still want to continue this friendship, you will do what I say." I grabbed his wrist, dragging him out of the classroom, "Where did he go?"

"Do you think that I have a clue?!" I sighed, activating my quirk to stop the time. Then, tapping Katsu's palm three times, his time started to resume again.

"Now, we are going to go look for him. No. Matter. How. Long. It. Takes." I began to walk again, "You are not going to talk to me until then."

It took us two hours to find where he was. Most of the time, Katsu didn't speak a single word as he didn't want to anger me anymore. We first looked around the school, but Zuku was already out of school grounds. I didn't realize how much time the both of us spent at school after classes were over.

"Zuku!" I yelled after resuming time again, running towards him with Katsu's hand in mine.

Now, we were right next to the beach. Zuku was wearing workout clothes as he looked like he was just about to go for a run. He was standing next to a sickly man, who seemed very familiar to me. But I wasn't going to poke in on that yet. Katsu had to apologize to Zuku about earlier.

"(Y-Y/N)?!" His eyes widen, "Kacchan?!" We stop running, catching our breaths.

"What the hell, Glitchy?!" Katsu barked, "Why in the fuck did we run?!"

"I told you not to talk to me after-" I pushed Katsu in front of Zuku, "YOU TALK to him."

"(Y/N) h-he doesn't-"

"Shut up, Zuku." Turning towards him, before looking back to Katsu, "Now, don't YOU have something to say?"

"Kacchan, you don't-"

"I'M APOLOGIZING!" Katsu yelled, closing his eyes, "Look..." He opened his eyes to look at me in the eyes before turning back to Zuku continuing.

"What I did earlier was wrong. S-So I take back what I said earlier."

"So you're not going to kill me if I talk to (Y/N)?" Zuku's eyes looked hopeful when he looked back and forth between Katsu and me.

"Yes, but this is the ONLY time you will be hearing me apologize to you. GOT IT, DEKU!" I punched the back of his head, making Katsu kneel to the ground holding it. Both of the guys before us sweatdropped, not knowing what to say.

"See? That wasn't as bad as you thought." I sighed before looking over to Zuku, "I'm sorry about interrupting you two like that. After I found out what Katsu did, I got mad and tried to look for you. I hope we didn't interrupt something. I wasn't thinking clearly."

"I-It's fine (Y/N)!" Zuku said, waving his hands in front of his face, "I was just talking to my, uh, trainer!"

"Why, you little-" I punched Katsu in the back of the head again to make him shut up.

"Again, sorry about that." Smiling, I pulled out my hand, "Are we still going to be friends?" Zuku grabbed my wrist before pulling me into a hug. I didn't realize what was going on until he started shaking.

"No matter what." His voice cracked, "Though, you didn't have to hit Kacchan so hard." I laughed, returning the hug before pulling away.

"He deserves it," I looked over to the other man, who looked nervous about the whole thing. "Thank you for training him. Well, Katsu and I are going to leave so you guys can do whatever you were about to do." Tugging the said guy's arm, I pulled him up to his feet.

"No problem. We were just about to get started." I smiled before looking up at his time above his head.

"We will get out of your hair now." I grabbed Katsu's hand, dragging him away with me, "Don't work him too hard, alright?!" The sickly blonde hair man nodded before turning away to Zuku.

"Why did you hit me?!" Katsu said after we were out of view.

We were now walking down the semi-empty streets with our hands interlocked. It was quiet silence before he started talking. We were just looking around, taking in the sights around us.

Stopping at the corner, waiting for the signal for us to walk to turn on, I turned towards him.

"I knew that you were going to start yelling at him." I shrugged, "That is usually what you do, so I just reacted."

"That doesn't mean that you can hit me!" His red eyes narrowed down at me, "That shit hurt!"

"Good," I turned before walking across the street with him, "You still owe me something."

"I don't owe you shit!" Katsu huffed, looking away, "Though, what you did earlier was pretty cool." I raised my eyebrow, looking at him.

"What was?"

"When you stopped the time," He shrugged as he put his free hand in his pocket, "It was the first time that I saw what your quirk looked like. The way on how everything stops and turns black and white."

"I guess it is," I grabbed my bookbag strap tightly, "You know the downside of my quirk, so you know that more than half of my life I get to see that. So it gets pretty boring after a while."

"Yeah..." Katsu mumbled, "A-Are you still applying to UA?"

"That's the plan."

"Then let me make it up to you," He stopped in his tracks before taking both of my hands in his, "Let me help you. Every day until the UA exam, I'll help you train." My eyes widen, trying to take in his words.

Does Katsu want to train with me? Or is it more of that he was going to teach me?

"I'll like that." I smiled, squeezing my hands against his, "But why?"

"Didn't you say that I owe you one?" Katsu's mouth turned into a smirk, "Now, let's go home and get started."

"W-What right now?!"

"Yep, I let my parents know that I will be at your house tonight when we get onto the train." So, nodding, we made our way over to the train station.

Sitting down at our usual seats, I looked around. The train was semi packed filled with adults who just got off of work. Having their briefcases in their hands or phones up to their ears made my assumption correct. Everyone looked so tired and happy, knowing that the day was coming to an end.

"So, what are we doing at my house?" I asked, leaning my head onto Katsu's shoulder. I was tired, too, after keeping my quirk activated for so long. Thankfully, he didn't seem to mind as he wrapped an arm around my shoulder. My head landed on the side of his chest, making me be able to hear his heartbeat- making me even more tired.

"We are going to do some homework and figure out what schedule works for each of us." He mumbled, "I can't believe that I'm going to help out a twelve-year-old to get into high school."

"Actually," I giggled, snuggling up to him, "I'm fourteen, so I should be going into high school."

"Another downside of your quirk?"

"Yeah, my time still keeps going when everything else is stopped." I poked Katsu on the cheek, making him look down at me, "I found that out when one day I looked into the mirror when it was activated."

"What? You can see your own time?" I nodded before looking down.

"Yeah, and everyone else's. I just turned fourteen a month ago. I did the math." I felt his grip tighten around me before placing his head on top of mine.

"Go to sleep (Y/N). I'll wake you up when our stop comes."

~*~ Time Skip 18:30 ~*~

Katsu was reading off his phone while I chopped up the rest of the vegetables and greens. The both of us were in the kitchen making dinner for the two of us since Amaya was out. She said that she would go out with her friends, so the house was all ours. I was glad that Amaya started going out again since her son disappeared. I smiled before pushing off the asparagus into the pan.

"Do you have any spices?" Turning my head, I looked at Katsu. He was looking up at me while sitting at the kitchen island on the last high chair. Katsu decided to put his blazer in the living room, just wearing a white t-shirt and black pants.

"It's in the pantry," I pointed to the door next to me, "Just grab what we need for the meal. I still have to add the tomatoes and potatoes into the pan yet."

This house was quite different from what typical japan style houses were. It was more Americanized since Amaya did ask for it. My family is well off due to my father being a tech-smart person. He used to own major companies that would help with hero upgrades. Before he died, he bought some empty land and built it for my stepmom, her son, and myself. It was one of the other reasons we decided to move when I finished 6th grade- it was still in construction.

My father loved all of us equally and decided to give his money to us when he passed. However, due to me being his only biologically connected to him, I received more money. Each month, the bank deposits money into my account so that I can spend it. I rarely use that money, so it just keeps adding up. If I was able to drive, I could already purchase my own vehicle. For a twelve-year-old to have that kind of money would blow anyone's mind.

Katsu walked past me and opened the doors to the pantry. The pantry alone was as a walk-in closet. There were countertops, cabinets, and open shelving that filled in the room nicely.

"Holy shit!" I giggled at his comment, starting to chop up the potatoes, "Where to now?"

"It is on one of the open shelves on the right! The spices and herbs are in customed containers by eye level!"

"Okay, found it!" It was quiet for a little bit, but with the sounds of containers shuffling around.

"Hey! Can you grab some rice while you're in there?!" I yelled, pushing the chopped potatoes into the boiling water, "It is the first counter when you walk in that pulls out! Just grab a scooper hanging up and fill up one of the empty containers in there!" Then, shifting over to the pork and asparagus pan, I started steering the items around the pan.

"How much?" He asked, hearing him walk over to the counter where the rice was before opening it, "HOLY CRAP! THAT IS A SHIT TON OF RICE!"

"Put in four scoops!" I went back to the chopping board to start up with the tomatoes, "Can you also grab a thing of onions?! The red one?!"

"Yeah!" After a couple more minutes, he walked out. His hands were three different kinds of spices and two types of herbs—also one red onion and a jar of rice almost filled up.

He walked behind me before placing the stuff onto the kitchen island. Our backs were a couple of inches away, making me shiver for some reason.

"So now what?" I heard him turn around before he wrapped his arms around my waist. Feeling the front side of his body against my back made me blush. Never in my life did I expect Katsu to do that. He was so warm compared to me, so it felt nice.

"Start making the rice," I whispered, putting my knife down, "The rice maker is out already, so just rinse the rice before putting it in." Katsu tightens his hold on me, making me feel his defined torso. My heart rate started speeding up in my chest as I felt my face become redder than it was already. All I wanted to do was to turn around and-

No, don't do that (Y/N). You have a meal to cook and some homework that you have to finish.

"You okay?" I didn't have to look at him to know that he was smirking, "Your face is red~."

"S-Shut up." Mentally scolding myself for stuttering, I picked up the knife again, "I have to keep cooking, Katsu. Can you let go of me?" There was a brief pause in hesitation before he pulled away. My body felt cold but relieved now that he wasn't touching me anymore.

Thirty minutes passed, and now we were both sitting down at the kitchen island. We just finished the stirfry that Katsu and I made. It was more on the spicier side, but it still tasted good. The longest to cook was the rice, which mixed in very well with the rest of the food.

"I'll take your plate and put it in the dishwasher for you," I took his plate before walking around the island.

"You have a dishwasher?" I nodded as I opened it. Putting it in the racks with the rest of our dirty dishes.

"Yeah." Walking back to my seat, I put my palm onto my cheek, "When you went into the bathroom to wash your hands, I put everything away." He nodded before taking out his phone from his pocket.

"We should set up a schedule for working out and our meals for the rest of the year." He smiled at me, "It's still ten months until the exam, but the sooner we start, the better, right?"

"Yeah. We might as well," I shrugged before looking at a specific door, "In the basement, there should be some equipment that we can use. I haven't touched it in a while since it was my dad's, but it should still work."

"Let's go check it out then," Katsu stood up, pulling out his hand for me to take. I took it, and we headed to the basement.

I haven't been down there for what seems like years. Most of the stuff was my dad's that Amaya and I couldn't throw away. That included his workout gears and stacks of papers for projects that he was working on. Sometimes I would go down in the middle of the night and work on it.

I should also work on my hero suit now if I'm going into the hero course. Well, at least, I hope so.

We both walked into the workout room, looking around at the ample space. There was every single kind of equipment from cardio to weight machines. It was a pain trying to get everything down here, but I was glad that we didn't take them away.

"This will work," Katsu turned towards me, squeezing my hand in the process, "Ready?"

"Ready," I smiled, returning the gesture, "But, before that, we should go change into some workout clothes." He laughed before agreeing with me.

This is the beginning of my journey to becoming a hero.

Becoming the youngest hero in history.

The Time Guardian- Clockwork.
