I smiled down at the scrap of paper.
"Jenni?" Mariana asked, standing in the doorway.
I glared at her coldly, brushing past her and out into the hallway.
"Jenni, wait!" She called after me as I gripped the door handle that led to the street.
"Jenni, I just want to talk!"
My nostrils flared and I spun around. "Don't call me Jenni."
Mariana skidded to a halt, her jaw almost dropping. I rolled my eyes and left, slamming the door behind me.
I walked through the trees, following the directions Uriah had left for me.
Maybe he'll make me feel better about Mariana.
Besides, why else would he have sent me here?
