It's A Nice Day For A White Wedding

Jenni looked stunning in her white dress, with her jet black hair falling down her back and a single rose in her hands. Her footsteps matched the slow beat of the music, and everything seemed to stop as she reached the alter, stepping up onto the platform and turning to face Uriah. Jenni's sister smiled sadly at them from where she stood, holding the rose the bride had handed her. After the vows were recited and they each said "I do", the priest gave Uriah permission to kiss the bride.

At the reception I walked up to Uriah and Jenni, who were sitting and watching quietly as others danced.
"Hello, Uriah. Hello, Jenni," I greeted.
"Hi, Tory," Uriah replied. "How've you been?"
I nodded to him. "I'm well. And you?"
He smiled. "I'm fine, thank you."
"So," I said. "You're a married man now, eh?"
He chuckled. "Yup."
"What do you think Aunt Ruthie thinks of it?" I asked.
"I do-"
"Aunt Ruthie?" Jenni's head snapped to attention. "Who's Aunt Ruthie?"
Uriah smiled at her. "She's Lord Zuriel's wife. Zuriel is our father's brother, which makes Aunt Ruthie our Aunt."
"Is this Ruthie Night? As in the Ruthie?" She asked, her eyes wild.
He nodded. "Yes, why?"
"My father's still missing her." Jenni's fists clenched. "And he argues 'bout her with my Mum all too often. It's ripping our family apart. Besides, isn't she dead?"
I nodded. "Aunt Ruthie's been off this Earth for twenty long years. She grew up, though. Your father might not recognize her by the time he dies."
"So you're a dark angel?" She asked Uriah.
He nodded again. "So is Tory."
Jenni nodded, looked at something behind me and screamed. I turned, and seeing a bullet I ducked. Unfortunately this caused the bullet to hit Jenni, just under her right rib cage. Uriah managed to catch her as she fell, laying her on the floor. He nodded to me, and I pulled out two knives. I gripped one in my hand, handing the other to Uriah. As Jenni spoke her last few words, her sister, Mariana I think, came running up. She held Jenni's head in her lap, tears streaming down her cheeks. She was mad, angry. But all I saw was sorrow. And as soon as Jenni was gone, Uriah plunged his knife into his heart, and I plunged my dagger into mine. As I slipped away I could hear Mariana crying, her tears flowing like a river, dampening her cheeks and landing on Jenni's face.

As I rose up into the clouds alongside Uriah and Tory, the dark angels guiding me up into the sky. As we got closer I started to hear the sounds of people - or in this case, angels and dark angels. I smiled as we came through the clouds and set our feet down on what seemed to be solid ground. After making our way through a field of tall grass we arrived at the entrance to a large city. I smiled at all the people as I walked through the streets, Uriah and Tory right on my heels. Eventually I was standing still, looking up at a huge palace. I smiled as Uriah tugged my hand and led me through the corridors and past a secretary who smiled at us. When we arrived at our destination I smiled for the millionth time that day. After waiting in a short line full of quiet angels, the doors opened and we were told to enter.
"Good evening, Uriah. Hello Tory. I see you've made it back with Jenni." The booming voice sounded like thunder in the huge room, bouncing off the walls.
And when I looked up, all I saw was a bright, smiling face.
