Dancing In The Rain

Dancing In The Rain

~Jenni's P.O.V.~

When I arrived at the cave today Uriah was standing knee-deep in the flood, looking up as I splashed through the water towards him. He bowed.
"Good afternoon, Jenni."
I smiled. "Hello, Uriah."
When I grew close enough he took my hand and led me up a small hill where the flood was more shallow.
"How are you today?" Uriah asked.
"I'm doing alright, thank you," I said, nodding.
He smiled. "Good."
Then we stood there for a while, just watching the storm swirl in the sky and the rain wash down the hills. After a few long moments he turned to me.
"Why have you come today?" He asked.
I laughed a bit. "I missed you. Just because it's raining doesn't mean I can't go out, you know."
His frown left his face, replaced by a small smile. "I just don't want you to get sick out in the cold."
I laughed again. "I'll be fine."
His smile vanished. "Are you sure?"
I nodded. "I'm okay."
He raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
"Uriah, I'm fine. Stop worrying." I pushed his hand off of my forehead. "I don't have a fever, I'm not sick."
His frown deepened.
"Uriah, stop looking at me like that. I'm fine."
He looked concerned.
"Well, if you're not going to respond, I may just have to leave you here all alone."
He grabbed my wrist. "Don't go."
"And why shouldn't I?" I asked.
"'Cause I'll miss you too much."
I smiled, rolling my eyes. "Oh, Uriah."
