Third Person Point of View:

"Tasha, love are you ready to go? Bruce is waiting for us." Clint asked. 

"Yeah, just give me one second." Natasha said while tying her hair up in a ponytail. Clint and Natasha met in the elevator and gave each other a kiss. 

"I forgot to ask you last night before we fell asleep. How was the mission?" 

"It was alright, I'm just glad it's over. That was my last S.H.I.E.L.D op until you have the baby, Fury does not want me to be halfway around the world when you go into labor. I still have to run any Avenger's missions we get though, unless you're actually in labor." Clint said with a chuckle.

"That's amazing. I'm glad your going to be home for the last few weeks. The countdown is officially under one month, our baby is going to be here before we know it." Natasha smiled while she caressed her baby bump.

"I know. You know that after we meet with Bruce we are having the baby shower? I told Pepper not to plan anything extravagant when she called me while I was on the mission. She wanted it to be a surprise for you, but I know how much you hate those, so I thought I'd give you a heads up."

"I told her that I didn't want a huge baby shower. I mean Tony and Pepper have already done so much for us. I don't know how to thank them."

"Don't worry, when we crown them the godparents along with Bruce today I think they'll be over the moon." Clint said not noticing that the elevator doors had opened and Bruce heard them.

"I'm going to be a godfather?" Bruce asked dumbfounded.

"Way to ruin the surprise Clint." Natasha said annoyed. "Yes Bruce, Clint and I have decided that you, along with Pepper and Tony are the ones we feel should raise our child should anything happen to us." 

"Are you guys sure about this. I mean you know what I am. I can't be trusted with these type of things. I'm a timebomb, I can't accept." 

"If you mean an amazing scientist and doctor, with seven Phd's, a heart of gold, and an amazing, caring man. Then yes I know exactly what you are Bruce. I trust you with my life and more importantly I trust you with Natasha and Elizabeth's lives. You aren't a monster Bruce and you need to stop seeing yourself as that. You are our family and you're going to be our baby's godfather weather you want to be or not. I don't want anyone other than you, Pepper, and Tony raising our child along with the rest of the team if something were to happen to us." Clint said with conviction. 

"Bruce we trust you. It's time for you to start trusting yourself." Natasha added in.

"OK. You guys are right. I will be your child's godfather. Thank you." Bruce said confidently.

"You're welcome. Now can we get this thing started?" Natasha asked laying down.

"Yes, of course. Pepper is going to kill me for keeping you guys this long. Oh well, just don't tell her." Bruce said getting started with Natasha's exam. Bruce did the normal ultrasound and gave Clint the usual picture.

"So, everything looks perfect. She's set to be born on her due date or possibly even a little earlier, we're in the home stretch now, so we just need to keep everything as stable as possible so nothing goes wrong, but everything looks great and I can't see anything that could go wrong. You guys are still OK if I have Helen Cho come for the birth to assist me, right? I don't expect anything to go wrong, but its always nice to be prepared. Plus and extra set of hands never hurt anyone." Bruce said smiling.

"Yeah, of course. I just want to make sure that Nat and the baby are safe, and if you think having someone assist you would, then by all means go for it." Clint said while Natasha nodded. 

"OK, great. I'll give her a call."

Natasha and Clint got up to leave but Bruce called out to them before they walked out of the door. "Cute name by the way. I've always liked the name Elizabeth." 

Natasha opened her mouth to speak, but Bruce cut her off. "Don't worry I won't tell Tony. Your secret is safe with me."

"Thank you, Bruce." Clint said getting into the elevator with Natasha. 

"Natasha! There you are. What took so long? Is everything OK?" Pepper bombarded them ass soon as the elevator doors opened to the kitchen. 

"Yeah, Pepper everything is great. We were just making some last minute arrangements with Bruce about the birth." Natasha said trying to calm Pepper down. 

"And my little niece is fine, no complications?"

"No Pepper. She's fine, everything is going perfect." Natasha said putting her hands on Pepper's shoulders. "Relax, everything is fine."

"OK. That's good. Now that, that is settled. You and I need to go get ready because we have plans today, and Clint can you go help the guys out? They are on the roof." Pepper said taking control of the situation.

"Yeah. I'll see you later love." Clint said giving Natasha a quick kiss on the lips, then jumped back into the elevator. 

"OK. Let's go we have a very busy day planned." Pepper said dragging Natasha by the arm. 

"Pepper what are we doing?" 

"You'll see, come on, it'll be fun. We just need to get changed really fast." Pepper had dragged Natasha to her's and Tony's room where she had laid out a bunch of maternity dresses for Natasha.

"Pepper, what is all of this?" Natasha asked confused.

"This is just something I wanted to do for you. You didn't get to have a maternity photoshoot, or go maternity clothes shopping, you didn't get to have a normal pregnancy because of circumstances we can't control. So I decided that you are going to have a big extravagant baby shower and you are going to wear a dress and just have today be all about you, and the baby, and Clint. Because you deserve this and so much more, but I know that you can't see it. Today I want you to experience all the things you have ever missed out on." Pepper said getting slightly choked up.

"Pepper, you didn't have to do all of this. You didn't have to do any of this. I don't..."

"No. Natasha don't finish that sentence. Please. You do deserve this. I want you to realize that you are my family, you are like my sister, please do not ever say that you are not worth anything again."

"I was going to say I don't know how to thank you. This is more than I ever could have asked for. I love you Pepper and I want you to know that, because you are the closest thing I have to a sister too." Natasha said violently hugging Pepper. 

"OK. Stop, you're going to make me cry and we are not having any tears today. Well we aren't having any tears before the baby shower. Come on let's get you ready."

Natasha and Pepper got to work as they always do when they were getting ready for a special occasion. Natasha picked out a lilac, knee length dress that was tight at the top yet flowy around the bottom. Natasha pulled her curly hair out of her ponytail and Pepper helped her apply a bit of eyeshadow. Pepper put on her slightly shorter than knee length dress and pulled her hair into a braid and the pair was ready to go. They made their way into the elevator and Jarvis stopped them for a moment before they made their way to the rooftop.

"Excuse me, Miss. Potts and Agent Romanoff. May I just say that you two look absolutely stunning today."

"Such a gentleman as always Jarvis. Thank you. You are coming to the baby shower, right?" Pepper said making sure that their plan was ready to go. 

"Of course Miss. Potts. I will be there." 

"Great Jarvis. You know where we need to be." Pepper said and the elevator took them up to the roof. The doors open and Pepper and Natasha see that the whole family is there sitting around a long table with the seat at the head of the table next to Clint reserved for Natasha with an empty seat on the other side of it for Pepper. Natasha saw that nick was there and ran to give him a hug. 

"Dad, you're here! You made it!" 

"Well, you didn't seriously think that I was going to miss my grandbaby's baby shower, did you?" 

"I don't know? You've just been so busy with S.H.I.E.L.D and trying to keep the council off my back I didn't know if you were going to be able to make it. To be honest, I didn't know I was having this until an hour or so ago." Natasha said honestly.

"Hey Nick stop hogging her, I want a hug too." Coulson shouted from behind Fury, he was standing next to Agent May. Natasha then went around and hugged everyone and the usual questions were asked and answered. They then all sat down and began eating the snacks that had been set out. They all talked and caught up for about half an hour until Steve spoke up and asked Natasha a question loud enough for everyone to hear.

"So Natasha, who did you guys picked to be crowned the godparents?"

"Oh yes about that. We have an announcement to make." Natasha said.  

"Please don't tell me that you're having twins!" Tony shouted looking slightly panicked. 

"No!" Clint and Natasha both said at the same time. 

"We are only having one child." Clint said clarifying. 

"Yes and we are going to be choosing three godparents for the child. Just so you guys all know this choice was extremely difficult, but it was made easier by knowing that no matter what your guys's titles were that if anything were to happen to us we know you guys would take care of our child." Natasha said waiting for the tension to build. 

"We are choosing, Bruce to be one of the godfathers along with Tony, and we are choosing Pepper to be the godmother." Natasha said with a smile.

"Wait. What?" Pepper asked incredibly surprised while Tony sat there moving his mouth with out any sound coming out. 

"Congrats you guys." Steve said genuinely happy for the three. 

"Yes congratulations are in order, for the three of you. You have been bestowed one of the highest honors that can be given on Asgard. Do all of our roles as uncles still stand though?" Thor asked while smiling. 

"Yes of course. Your original roles all still stand." Natasha said reducing Thor's apprehensions 

"No wait hold on go back a second! You guys are actually naming us the godparents? Why the hell didn't you guys pick America's golden boy and your old mentor?" Tony asked once he had regained his ability to speak. 

"Really Tony? You're asking that. I can't think of anyone more qualified to be godparents than you and Pepper. You guys have been there for all of us for everything. There is no one on this Earth other than Bruce, Pepper, and you who I would want to be my niece's godparents." Steve said speaking up before Natasha and Clint could. 

"Yeah and Tony, we're too irresponsible to be godparents. Steve has a bad habit of jumping off things and crashing planes into oceans, while I have a tendency to follow him and daring him into doing said things. You guys deserve this more that we ever could." Bucky added in. 

"Pepper, you haven't said anything. Are you OK?" Natasha whispered in Pepper's ear.

Pepper then hugged Natasha around the neck and held her while whispering, "Thank you, Natasha. Thank you." 

"So Bruce you haven't said anything. What's going on in that big brain of yours'?" Coulson asked. 

"Nothing really, I'm just shocked and surprised and really happy." Bruce said smiling.

"OK. So now that we got that out of the way. Can we do gifts now?" Pepper asked once she came back from the bathroom. 

"Yes! Yes! Yes! Me first!" Thor said jumping up and giving Natasha his box. "Pepper had to help me wrap it. I couldn't get the tape to stick to the box and not my fingers."

Natasha unwrapped the box and took out the necklace to admire it. "Thor this is beautiful. How does it glow like that?"

"It is made by the same metal as moljorn. I have blessed it along with my mother and father to protect the child from harm. As she grows it will change it's shape to fit her personality." Thor said happily.

"Wow, Thor thank you. This is such a thoughtful gift." Clint said and put it back in the box and off to the side. 

"Alright, I'm next." Sam said getting up and bringing over a large box. Natasha opened it and removed the boxes of diapers from the front and saw that there multiple onesies in the bottom but the one that was on top was custom made. Natasha pulled it out and held it up for everyone to see.

"It says: 'I'm Falcon's winggirl'!" Sam read out loud for everyone.

"That's amazing Sam I love it." Natasha said in between giggles. 

"So does that mean I can take her out in public with it on when I babysit her?" Sam asked while smirking.

"Yeah, Sam, you sure can." Clint said to which Sam fistpumped. 

The other Avengers brought their gifts to Natasha to open. Rhodey and Maria got washcloths and bottles along with diapers. Fury got them a baby swing along with a onesie that said 'Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D in training'.  Coulson and May got them pacifiers and baby blankets along with novelty onesies that said things like 'grandpa's favorite'. 

"Tony, do you want to go next?" Steve asked trying to go last.

"No. I'm going last, you can go." Tony said stubbornly

"Oh. I'll go." Bruce said bringing over his gift. Natasha unwrapped the package and saw a white lab coat inside. She removed it from the packaging and saw it was miniaturized.

"Bruce this is adorable!" Natasha exclaimed.

"Yeah I got it for my little science buddy!" Bruce said as it was put in the ever growing pile of opened gifts. 

"Alright. I'll go." Bucky said turning around to get his gift. He brought the box over to Natasha and stood next to her while she opened it. 

Natasha took the lid off of the box and gasped. "Winter! You didn't." 

"No I couldn't keep it after they sent me away, but I remembered what it looked like. I went back to Russia when I found out you were pregnant and found an exact copy." Bucky said sadly.

"What is it?" Clint asked. Natasha pulled the stuffed bear out of the box and showed everyone.

"This is an exact copy of the bear I had when I was taken by the Red Room. It was the last thing my mother ever gave me. When I was in the Red Room they took it from me, but Bucky some how saved it in his room so when we started doing missions together he showed it to me and we got in trouble, so he got sent away." Natasha said smiling and sniffling. "Thank you Buck." Natasha whispered to him as she gave him a hug. Bucky went back to his seat satisfied with himself. 

"Well crap. Now I have to follow that. Thanks Buck." Steve said getting up and bringing over his huge box. 

As Bucky passed him, he kissed him on the lips and whispered in his ear. "look at it this way, at least she's happy and safe and the baby is doing fine." 

Natasha had to stand up to open it. Natasha cut the box open with Clint's knife and admired the beautiful rocking chair that was inside. 

"Steve this is amazing. I don't have a chair to put in the nursery, but now I do. This is perfect, thank you." Natasha said getting up on her tip-toes to hug Steve. Steve went to sit in his seat and Tony stood up. 

"So now that all of those gifts are out of the way, it's time for mine!" He said arrogantly while strutting around the table. "Now Natasha a few weeks ago I went shopping with Clint here and I wouldn't let him buy a crib. Well I didn't tell you the reason why, but when I was doing my research when I first found out you were pregnant I found a lot of reports about babies dying in their cribs. I was not about to let that happen to my niece and now goddaughter so I started working on a new crib design with Bruce, and this is what we came up with." Tony said as he pushed a large box next to the table. The box fell away and the gift inside was exposed. It was a handmade wooden crib with intricate carvings on the sides and all along the bars. There was a small panel on the side that was where the baby's vitals would be displayed.

"So what we did was have a monitor that covers the whole bed and it constantly monitors the baby's vitals and it can be live streamed to your phone so if your ever on a mission you can still know the baby is fine." Tony said happily.

"Tony this is amazing. I can't believe you did all of this for us." Natasha said giving him a hug.

"Well technically I did it for my niece, but you're welcome. Your family Nat we would do anything for you." Tony said not letting go of her embrace. 

Tony sat down at his seat and Pepper got up to present her gift.

"So my gift is a tiny bit more complex. Jarvis and I have been working on this for about six months now and it's a video diary of all the significant moments you guys have been through, through the whole pregnancy. Jarvis start the video." Pepper said and sat down. 

The projection started on the screen and it opened with the first black and white ultrasound picture that Bruce had shown them. It quickly transitioned to the video of Clint and Natasha reacting to hearing the heartbeat for the first time. On Coulson's face you could see the shock and amazement at hearing the heartbeat for the first time. Natasha and Clint got closer to each other to watch the video. The next thing shown on the slideshow was Natasha and Clint dancing after they had found out about the baby. The slideshow changed to show the progression of Natasha's baby bump. When the progression pictures stopped, a video of the wedding played and when it got to the wedding vows Jarvis put the subtitles on so everyone could understand. 

When the vows finished playing sniffling could be heard throughout the table. The slideshow then skipped a small bit of the wedding and refocused on Natasha and Clint sitting next to each other when they felt the baby moving for the first time. At this point Rhodey and Coulson had tear streaked faces and Bucky had now started sniffling. The slides were now on to more progression pictures of the baby bump. The next video that played was of Thor walking in on Pepper feeling Natasha's belly. 

"Lady Potts is something wrong with Natasha? I will go fetch Dr Banner." Thor bellowed.

"No. No. No. Thor I'm fine." Natasha said sitting up. "Pepper's just feeling the baby move, it's OK."

"You can feel the baby move? How is that possible? She has not been born yet." Thor asked walking over to the couch they were sitting on. 

"Well Thor the baby is alive, they just haven't been born yet, so Natasha can feel when the baby moves and kicks." Pepper explained calmly. 

"Oh, may I feel?" Thor asked cautiously. Natasha nodded and Thor moved closer to put his hands on her stomach. "Is it supposed to be doing that?" Thor asked once he felt the baby move. 

The slideshow then moved on to more progression pictures and a few more videos, the last picture of the slideshow was the one that had everyone sniffling. It was a sideview of Natasha and Clint in the nursery and Clint was kneeling down kissing Natasha's protruding belly.
