Part 29

Third person point of view:

"Natasha! I'm leaving. I'll call you when I get to the store." Clint yelled to Natasha who was in the kitchen making herself a late breakfast.

"OK. Me and Pepper will tell you all the things we need to get."

Clint made his way down in the elevator but was stopped by Tony on the ground floor. "Clint where are you going" Tony asked.

"I'm heading down to the store to get some stuff for the nursery. I'm going to call Nat when I get there so I don't screw up and get the wrong stuff."

"Sounds like fun. I'm coming with you."

"What? Tony you don't have to."

"No it is absolutely imperative that I come with you, because I need to approve everything for the youngest Avenger's room. I mean it is going to be in the tower and all."

"OK. Fine at least I won't be alone. Do you want to drive or do you want me too?"

"I'll drive." Tony said getting into the car and starting it up. The guys drove for about 15 minutes until they arrived at the mall with all of the stores. They walked into the first store and Clint called Nat on his phone.

"Hey Nat. So we just got to the store. What do we need to get first?"

"Who's we?"

"Oh hello agent Romanoff. I'm very offended that you didn't think to invite me to go shopping for my niece. I mean she is going to be staying in the tower, right? You guy's are going to stay in the tower?" Tony said when Clint turned the camera onto Tony.

"That's a long way's away, but yes for now we are going to be staying in the tower. OK. So what are the options for strollers?" Natasha asked.

"There is this cute pink one Nat. Can you see it?" Clint showed her the stroller and Nat shot it down. Stark had wandered out of view of the camera and came back with the most expensive and fancy stroller he could find.

"You guys are getting this one. I'm buying it."

"Tony no. We are buying the stuff, and we don't need the fanciest or the most expensive. I mean we won't even be able to use the stroller that much." Nat said over the phone.

"I don't care it's already in the cart and yes I am buying it because if I don't Pepper will kill me."

"Tony..."

"Stop, Natasha, you aren't going to win this one." Tony said pushing the cart away from Clint who was holding the phone. "Come on Clint keep up!"

They both stopped at the cribs and Tony pulled Clint and Natasha away very quickly.

"Tony what the hell! We need a crib for the baby to sleep in." Clint said trying to shake off Tony's grip.

"No you guy's don't I have it covered. Don't worry about it."

"Uhh. Tony. The baby needs to sleep in a crib, we do not have a crib, so we need to buy one." Natasha said trying to explain it slowly.

"No you don't. I told you that. I have it covered."

Natasha paused the facetime and called for Pepper. "Pepper! Please come here and try and talk some sense into your boyfriend."

"If it's about the crib, he's got it covered." Pepper said walking over and sitting next to Natasha on the couch. Natasha resumed the facetime and told the gentlemen to keep moving.

"So Natasha, how's my little niece doing in there?"

"She's good. She's been moving a lot more lately, especially more now that Clint's back."

"May I feel?" Pepper asked to touch Natasha's swollen belly and she agreed.

"Hey Nat. What other big things do we need?" Clint asked.

"Umm. Let's see. We need a highchair, carseat, mattress, clothes, diapers, everything really."

"Oh and don't forget about the breastpump Natasha." Pepper said while distracted by the baby's movements.

"The what now?"

"Well you know so you can make bottles for the baby."

"Oh you mean like a formula maker thing?" Natasha asked focusing more on the options of mattresses for the baby.

"Hold on, you guys don't need to hear this, we'll call you back." Pepper said hanging up on the guys at the store.

"Pepper. Why'd you do that?"

"Because. OK. So do you know what a breastpump is?"

"I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's a pump for your breasts?" Natasha said questioningly.

"Well yeah, but do you know what it does?"

Natasha shook her head an Pepper began explaining. "Well you see when you get pregnant your boobs automatically produce milk to feed the kid. And when you don't breastfeed or even when you do, you have excess and you have to get it out. The pump gets it out." Pepper explained awkwardly.

"OK, but why though? And do we even know if I can, you know, make stuff?" Natasha asked confused.

"Well considering you're pregnant we are going to make the assumption that you can. So if you don't get the milk out it apparently hurts like a bitch, so we aren't going to have that happen. So in conclusion you need a breastpump. Are you even planning on breastfeeding the kid?"

"I really don't know. I didn't ever think about it."

"OK. Well it's all up to you and I'm not trying to pressure you one way or another, but if it was my kid I would want them breastfed. For you though it's complicated because you aren't going to be with the kid a whole lot because of S.H.I.E.L.D and stuff so it might just be easier for everyone if you just do formula." Pepper said honestly.

"OK. Well at least we still have three months till we really need to worry about this. Can we call the guys back, because we need to finish shopping." Natasha said throwing away most of the conversation.  Pepper agreed and they were quickly back to shopping. Natasha and Clint picked out most of the essentials together with Tony only interfering a few times. When the guys came back home the car was filled to the brim and all of the guys were needed to help unload the car.

"Jesus Tony! Did you leave anything else for the rest of us to buy?" Steve said when he saw the haul.

"Yes, Steve, don't worry. There's plenty more things that Clint and Natasha need before the baby is born." Pepper said coming in with Natasha in tow.

"Alright, where is all this stuff going?" Bucky asked bringing in the highchair with his metal arm.

"Oh yeah, we forgot to tell you guys, but there is a secret door in our room. It leads to this other area and it's the perfect spot for the nursery." Clint said walking in the door.

"There's a secret room there? I thought that was on another floor... Oh wait never-mind don't worry about that." Tony said.

The guys unloaded the car and brought it all into Clint and Natasha's room. They waited while Natasha punched in the code and waited for the scanner to recognize her handprint. They all came into the medium sized bedroom and admired it. Steve began planning his paint job while the others organized the boxes under the guidance of Pepper and Natasha. Clint got a phone call from S.H.I.E.L.D and went outside to take it.

"Hey Coulson. What's up?"

"Hey Clint. So I know you just got back from your last mission, but we've got another op for you. It's a solo mission, no-contact again. How's Nat doing?"

"Coulson, I can't take it. When I came back from the last mission, Nat almost killed me. I can't be doing solo, no-contact missions for a while. Well at least while Nat is pregnant."

"Alright. I'll cross you off this one, I'll see what I can do about the other stuff. I can't guarantee that they won't be solo or no-contact, but I can make sure that it isn't both.  How's Nat?"

"She's doing great, the baby is doing amazing. We can't complain. We are starting to set up the nursery now. Life is really starting to come together for us." Clint said enthusiastically.

"That's great Clint. I'm really glad to hear. Well, while I still have you, I found another mission for you. It's a solo, but it is based in Canada so you won't be too far from Nat in case anything happens and you can have contact, so you and Nat can text and call as much as you'd like."

"That's amazing Coulson, thank you. When do I leave?"

"Two days. Clint I've got to go, Fury's calling." Coulson said hanging up the phone abruptly. Clint made his way back to the room to find it nearly empty except for Natasha, who was sitting on the floor.

"Nat, what are you doing on the floor?" Clint asked when he saw her.

"Nothing. I'm just taking it all in. I mean this is really happening Clint. In three months we're going to have a baby, and not just any baby, our baby which is something we didn't think was ever going to be possible."

"I know. I'm so excited. I can't wait to hold her and see her. I know she's going to be just like you." Clint said helping Natasha off the floor.

"No. I can already tell she's got your energy, you're going to have a little mini me." Natasha said taking Clint's hand so he could feel her move. They stood like that for a few minutes with Clint wrapping his arms around Natasha with their hands on her stomach feeling their baby's movements. While they were distracted Jarvis took a picture of them.

"Nat, I've got some bad news. Coulson called while everyone was unloading all of the stuff and I have another mission."

"OK. We can deal with this. What are the details?"

"I don't know very many specifics, but it is a solo mission and I leave in two days. The mission is mostly going to be based in Canada, so I'm not too far away in case anything happens. But there is some good news."

"What is it?"

"I can have contact with people, so we can call and text as much as we would like."

"What? That's amazing. We never get those types of missions. How?" Natasha asked surprised.

"Coulson pulled a couple strings. He also made it so that my missions will no longer be solo and no-contact, they will be one of the two. So you don't have to worry so much about me."

"Thank you, Clint. I wish I was out there watching your back. Then I know I wouldn't have to worry about you."

"I know Nat. But I'm glad that you are here. You've got something even more important to take care of then me."
