Susie jumped down, branch by branch to the ground. She motioned for you to jump.

"What?! Are you crazy!? You just finished telling me about how you broke your arm by falling out of this tree, and now you want me to purposefully jump!?" ( a h h h h a g a i n w i t h t h e f l a s h b a c k s ) Susie rolled her eyes.

"I'm gonna catch you, genius. Just jump, and I'll get you. I wouldn't let you plummet to your own doom." You stuck your tongue out at her as you flung yourself from the branch.

For a few seconds, you fell. You felt anxiety grow inside you. You had only known this girl for an afternoon, why would you trust her?

She never gave you a reason not to.

You felt yourself collide with something. You looked up and saw Susie's face centimeters away from your own. Immediately, both your and Susie's faces turned bright crimson. Susie nearly drops you right then and there, but regains her composure and holds you bridal-style. You realize that you're still staring at her and look away.

"C-could you, uh, maybe put me down?" you ask. She nods and sets you down.

"You good now?" she asks, changing the subject. You nod. "Alrighty, then. Seeya around." She gave you a two fingered salute-wave thing and began walking away. You started home, head spinning.
