"Go away," you forced out between sobs.

"Dude, you probably shouldn't be up there, it's pretty dangerous. I fell out of that tree when I was little and broke my arm," ( omg I'm getting flashbacks ) the person said.

"Yeah, whatever. It's not like anyone would care anyway." You felt a nearby branch shake and looked beside you. It was the girl from the classroom- Susie was it? She looked surprised to see you.

"Woah, 1 day and you're already sobbing about how people don't care? You're faster than everyone else." You could tell she was trying to lighten the mood, but you weren't exactly in the mood. You grunted.

"Okay then, not the right time for jokes. Do you wanna tell me what happened?" she asked. You felt more hot tears fall down your face. You turned your head away from her so she wouldn't see your puffy eyes.

"It's not important..." you insisted.

"Of course it is. Keeping it in won't make it any better." She had a point. So you let it out.

"I was born in this town a long time ago. I lived here until I was 6, and I had three really close friends; Avery, Adrien, and Charlotte." Susie wrinkled her nose at the mention of Charlotte. "Avery and Adrien moved away, and when I found Charlotte, she didn't remember me... It's like I never existed. She was my best friend, and-"

"Charlotte's been a bitch for as long as I remember. I remember those Avery and Adrien kids, they moved away a while ago after- Charlotte was the reason they moved." You noticed Susie's hesitation.

"After what?" You sat bolt, forgetting all about your tears.

"Charlotte pretty much alienated them. She pushed them away like trash. Nobody talked to them anymore. So, they moved."

"What the hell!? That's messed up!" you shouted. Susie shrugged.

"Happens more often here than you'd think."

You and Susie sat in the tree, surrounded by silence. You were still ticked off. Susie placed her hand on your shoulder and looked you in the eye.

"Heh. It's a feat, really, forgetting you, (Y/N). Don't worry. I'll make sure she knows you exist. She will know. And she'll regret everything she's ever done."
