You wandered through the halls of the local high school. Despite how small the school was, you were hopelessly lost. Your sense of direction had always been garbage. You eventually ducked into the nearest classroom, frankly not caring which one it was. You softly closed the door behind you and turned around. That's when you saw her.

Her head turned, and she looked you directly in the eye. Her expression seemed hard until she realized that she didn't recognize you. The morning sunlight filtered through the windows and reflected rainbows across the little dust particles floating in the air. Her expression changed into curiosity. She stood up and stepped toward me. She tilted her head as if trying to convey a question without stating it. My head started to spin.

"Hey," she said.

"H-hello," you responded shyly. You could feel heat rising to your face.

God, she's pretty...

You stared right at her, not knowing where else to look. She cracked a small grin, but kept the eye contact. The room seemed to disappear around you as you stared at each other.

Suddenly, her eyes broke away from yours.

"Shit, class is gonna start in like a minute. Gotta go." She rushed out of the room without another word. You stood there for a second, trying to figure out what just happened.

That girl...

You then realized that you, too, were late to class.
