back where you belong
...
You opened your eyes. Something about this place was wrong. You couldn't see. You didn't recognize anything. Everything seemed to be rattling.
CLUNK!
The room shook once, then again, Clunk! One of the walls opened a crack, and light filtered in. After your eyes adjusted, you looked around you once more. Boxes, cardboard boxes labeled 'bathroom', 'kitchen', and 'bedroom'. A single box in the corner read '(Y/N)'.
Now you remembered. You were moving back to your hometown, which, ironically, was named Hometown. You moved away with your dad when you were younger, and you hated it. Everyone you knew had lived there, and everyone you knew was staying there. Nobody ever visited you or even reached out to you, but you were still relieved to be going back. Unfortunately, your father was driving the moving van and your mother's car was filled with boxes as well, so you rode in the back.

Finally, the van pulled into an empty and quiet street. You stuck your head out of the opening in the doors. Hardly anything had changed since you had last been here all those years ago. The varying shades of yellow on the trees, the sweet serenity that filled the air, the undisturbed peace, all of it remained. The van turned, and finally parked. You exited the vehicle and stared at the house you spent the first 6 years of your life in.
You were back where you belonged.
