You approached Susie's doorstep. Her house was an average sized white house with a blue-grey shingled roof. There appeared to be a second floor, as there were dormer windows on the roof. She let your hand go and unlocked the door, only to kick it open a second later.

"HEY DAD I HAVE A FRIEND OVER!" Susie yelled into the house. A second voice came in response.

"OKAY JUST BE QUIET THIS TIME, AND DON'T BREAK YOUR BED AGAIN."

"I'VE TOLD YOU A THOUSAND TIMES THAT WAS AN ACCIDENT, DAD!"

"THAT'S WHAT THEY ALL SAY!" Her dad replied.

"Geez, your dad is pretty excitable, isn't he?"

"Eh, sometimes. Anyway, welcome to my humble abode." Susie held her arm out, motioning you inside.

"Who's this? I don't think I've ever seen you around here before." Susie's dad said from the white leather couch. He was muscular, but still a little round. He had a little stubble on his face, and had smile lines around his eyes. He held an orange soda in his hand.

"Hello, I'm (Y/N) (L/N). I just moved here a few days ago." You nodded at him respectfully.

"Hehehe, got yourself a new girlfriend, ey Susie? That's my girl!" Susie's cheeks glowed bright crimson.

"Oh my god dad, would you please shut up!?" You started giggling. Susie's father smiled brightly at you.

"Eh, I'm just messing with you. I'm Bartholomew Dino, but most folks just call me Barney. I know my daughter will try to make you think she's a big tough meanie, but she's really a softie. Once you crack that hard shell of hers, she's as snuggly as she is scary."

"Dad! Come on, you're embarrassing me!"

"Aw shucks, kiddo, you know I'm just fooling around. Now I'm all seriousness, my daughter is a great person. You're obviously special if she's allowed you into her life. Don't. Fuck. It. Up. Got it?" He smiled at you again. You nodded frantically. Intimidation seemed to run in the family. "Alright, have fun kids!" Barney turned back to the tv screen and Susie pulled you towards the stairs.

"Sorry about him, he's always like that when I bring home new friends. Ever since the whole thing with Charlotte he's been... A bit protective. He wouldn't let Kris out of his sight when she was over for months. You must've made a pretty good first impression on him if he let you go that easily."

"It's all good," you assured her. She grabbed your hand again and started pulling you up the stairs. Halfway up, she turned around to look at you.

"This... This is alright, right?" she asked, looking at your hand in hers. Your face glowed a bit.

"As long as you don't mind, I'm fine with it." She nodded and continued up the stairs.
