The teacher slammed his hand on the table angrily. "We are going to Camp Yosemite and that is final!"

Despite the threat of detention for the rest of the term, the final-year students of Emerald High were having none of it and continued to shout in frustration in the auditorium.

Despite my indifferent look, I was one of the most furious. The trip every senior year took was now to Camp freaking Yosemite. The previous years had gone to Egypt, Russia, and heck even the Caribbean.

I turned to Joy who was sitting beside me to gauge her expression. I rolled my eyes and removed her headphones that were blasting K-pop music. She looked up from the romance novel she was reading on her phone and pouted at me.

"What?" She asked.

"Camp Yosemite" I said.

Her eyes went wide and he mouth went wide in shock. She groaned and gave the Vice Principal a deadly side-eye.

"Now. You will be assigned your cabin mates." The Vice-Principal said calling out various people's names.

"Astro, Jayden, James, and Michael you are in Cabin 5."

I turned to look at James in shock.

There was no way in hell.

James equally looked just as pissed as me and Karla furiously whispered something into his ear and he stared at me, probably warning him to play nice.

I really needed to find out who I offended in a previous life.

I glared out the school bus. We were actually here, some part of me silently prayed it was a prank and they would give us our flight tickets on the D-day, but I was gravely mistaken since we pulled up at camp right on time.

Lily whimpered in her kennel and I stuck my hand through the bars to assure her I was still there. My dad was okay with Lily since he loved animals but was too busy to help me take care of her while I was at camp, so I begged and begged and they allowed me to bring her.

The bus screeched to a halt and I got down, bringing Lily out of her kennel so she could take some fresh air.

"Ewww what an ugly mutt." A girl said when Lily came close to her.

"She not a mirror you bitch." Karla sneered before I could get a word in.

I turned to look at the girl who let out a terrified squeal before running away as Karla stared daggers down her back.

"I already had my pepper spray ready." I said motioning to the can I had hidden in my hand.

She just laughed, squatted and started petting Lily. "Don't let anyone bring you down okay."

"Hey roomie," Joy said bouncing up to Karla and then looked towards me. "Hey cutie"

"Hi" I replied.

"I was talking to the dog." Joy said grinning.

Bitch

I silently cursed James as I stood watching Joy and Karla play with the dog. Karla's original roommate was scared to be in the same room as her, so she switched with Joy but when I tried that, they rejected me saying it would offer some bonding time with me and James. How in the world does putting two people who despise each other in the same room and in a place that was perfect to hide a body okay?

I sighed in depression as I walked with Lily towards my cabin.
