"Felix?"
"hey" He says revealing his pearly white teeth.
"I thought you had soccer practice."
"I did. Today was just introductions so they let us go early." He replies.
"Oh. Cool" I say as I take the stairs towards rooms. "See ya at lunch." I wave before disappearing into my room.
I had just come back from college. Chan had accompanied me all along and bade goodbye when we split ways. I don't exactly know chan but from what I have experienced today, he didn't seem like a person I should ignore. He was nice or I must say, extremely nice and polite to me.
I dive right on my bed and exhale.
"I gotta look for a job" I mumble.
Seems like I've got work to do this evening. Might as well take felix with me, only if he wants to. He might need his space coz we're always hanging out together, I don't want him to feel like his world revolves around me.

Felix tagged along with me the moment I said I was gonna look for a job. Seems like we're both gonna end up working in the same place. After exploring the area for some minutes, we stop in front of a café which has a job vacancy poster outside it.
"Good evening" a woman with brunette medium length hair chimes in and smiles. She is in a cute dress with a navy blue apron on it.
We greet her back in unison. I tell her that I'm here for a job before she leads our way towards a table. She tells us to wait some minutes before the manager arrives. In the mean time she offers us a glass of water and the free cookies they offer to those who visit them for the first time.
After some minutes, a man in blue apron similar to that of the woman approaches us.
"Hello." He greets and we both stand up to greet him back.
"I am Hwang Hyunjin and-
He's cut off by Felix choking on water. He coughs and I rub his back to help him. "Are you okay?" I ask. "Sorry, yeah. Thanks for asking." He replies whilst wiping his face with the tissue Hyunjin had passed him.
"Easy, mate." Hyunjin says as he gives Felix a concerned look.
"So" He clasps his hands together. "The manager is on leave today so I'll be the one dealing with you guys." He smiles.
I take a moment to appreciate his visuals. Every single thing is in perfect proportions and if I'm not wrong, he's the reason why people visit this place.
"Wha- h-hi" I'm brought back to my senses when I feel a nudge on my shoulder. T'was obviously Felix.
"I'm y/n, nice to meet you." I manage to plaster the most charming smile I could muster.
"I'm felix."
That was all it took to get the job. He didn't ask us anything else. All we said was our names and Hyunjin replied with a "you're in". They must really need workers, huh?
We started working from the very next day. I was appointed to work along with Hyunjin at the counter to prepare drinks while Felix was in charge of taking orders, he was the waiter. Attracting costumers and holding them here for a long time till they order everything that comes out of felix's mouth in his heavy yet soothingly scrumptious voice is definitely his kinda job. Till the time he spills out the names of various delicacies from his mouth, the costumers focus either on his face or on his veiny arms which peep out of the rolled up sleeves of his white shirt.
It's only our first day at work and I'm already hyperventilating at the amount of costumers gathered in the café. Most of them are either teenage girls or adult females. I feel like Hyunjin and Felix should be payed extra for their looks which counts as a huge contribution in promoting this café.
"So, I hope Somi has taught you all the required stuff." Hyunjin speaks as he picks up the booklet to read the orders. Somi is the woman who greeted us when felix and I entered the café for the first time.
"Yes sir."
"Oh, you don't have to be so formal with me. Just call me Hyunjin or oppa." He smiles expressing the politeness in his words but his eyes says otherwise.
"Hyunjin would be fine." I reply awkwardly with a chuckle.
//next day//
I am coming back home after going through a tortuous day at college. Felix is staying back for the soccer practice and just like yesterday, chan insisted on joining me on my way back home.
"Ice-cream?"
"No. Not today." I reply. "Thanks but I've to go to work."
"What work?"
"My job."
"Why do you have a job at the age of eighteen?" He makes an incredulous face.
"I should be the one making that face at you for asking such question." I retort. "WhY dO YoU hAvE a jOB?" I mimic. "To earn money, stupid."
"Then why are you studying when you already have a job?" He asks.
"God. chan, you act like you were born yesterday." I say exasperatingly. "It's obviously my part time job."
He takes a moment to think and then his mouth forms an 'o'. "What is it that you do?" He asks. "I work at the Xyz café." I reply and he nods.
I bid him a 'goodbye' before parting ways.
I reach the café exact at 4:30pm while Felix joins a few minutes late as he had come directly from his practice.
"Hello y/n!" Somi chirps as usual. "Hey." I reply with a smile.
"Good evening, y/n." Hyunjin emerges from the counter and waves with a grin plastered on his face. Oh how I want to sit and watch him smile in peace. I can do that all day, I'm not kidding.
I wear my apron and cap and carry on with my work. The bell chimes indicating the arrival of my first costumer for the day. The person walks in ignoring somi's attempt to greet him without looking up from his phone. He stands in front of me, counter being the barrier between us. He's wearing a black leather jacket with black t-shirt underneath it along with black jeans. His hair covers his forehead and a black beanie covers his head.
"Wh-
"Coffee. Black." He retorts before I could ask anything. His attitude unintentionally grabs a lot of attention from the staff members. I could see Hyunjin glaring at the customer from the corner of my eye.
"Coming right up." I say before grabbing ingredients from the shelf.
He looks up from his phone for the first time when I place the black coffee in front of him. He grabs the cup and goes back on his phone.
Someone clears their throat, turns out it's Hyunjin standing right next to me. The customer continues tapping his phone whilst sipping his coffee, unbothered and unaffected by his surroundings.
Hyunjin sighs before he speaks, "What are you doing here, jisung?"
The customer's ears perk up, probably coz he heard his name, and he looks at Hyunjin. Both of them stare at each other coldly and I stand there awkwardly not knowing what to do.
The guy named jisung breaks the glaring contest with a scoff. "What's you problem, dude?" He asks at which Hyunjin rolls his eyes. Jisung's eyes finally lands on me and I immediately regret standing at my current place. He squints at me before glancing at my badge.
"Oh" he says stretching the 'o' sound as if he has just experienced an epiphany. "I see." He says as a lopsided smile appears on his face.
"What do you want?" Hyunjin asks in a monotone.
"Coffee, obviously." Jisung replies matter-of-factly at which Hyunjin raises his brows. Jisung puts down the cup and holds his hands up in surrender. "I'm here for the coffee, that's all." He says pronouncing each word clearly.
"Yeah right." Hyunjin scoffs.
And then the bell chimes again. Our heads turn towards the entrance.
"Hello y/n!"
