It's been a few weeks since Eren and Levi broke up.

They both have been walking around, kind of like zombies, not caring about the other people around them and distancing themselves from the people close to them.

For Levi it wasn't all that different, since he's always like this but for Eren it was a big change. He no longer smiled or laughed or even had those weird but funny conversations with his friends.

And to make it worse, the morale of Levi-squad went downhill rapidly, no one knowing what had precisely gone wrong. All but two of them.

The tension between Levi and Eren was suffocating to them and those around them as well. All of the members thought that they had maybe fought with each other.

Most of the time Eren couldn't even do most of the workouts, all because of the number of times he had cut himself, sure it regenerated the next morning, but it sure as hell still hurt...a lot.
Levi let Eren off with warnings, every time Eren said he couldn't do something, but both knew that those warnings meant nothing to either of the boys. All they wanted was to be back in each other's arms.

They avoided each other like the plague... The people around them all noticed the thick tension between the two men, but none of them had the guts to ask what had happened.

Not even the boys themselves had the guts to talk to each other. For Levi it was because of the intense guilt he was feeling towards Eren and as for the younger, he just didn't want history to repeat itself... but maybe it already did...

And maybe he was too late to change it back to the way it was...oh how he wished they could just forget about what happened and move on...together...

But there was little he could do about the situation, and if he would try to rekindle their relationship, he will be open to heartbreak once again. And he can't handle one more devastating heartbreak, that would be the end of Eren...he would make sure of it himself...

But he couldn't be selfish...not now..not when they needed to save all of humanity. Speaking of which, they had a mission to get to.

Erwin informed them last night about a possible Titan-shifter village just a few miles away from their base camp.
They needed to infiltrate the town and find the people living there. And they all need to survive, and that was what Eren was for, to be the bait and to lure the shifters outside, thus exposing themselves, which was not going to be an easy task.

They were incredibly smart and cunning and could sense the scouts coming from far away. This was going to be a very complex mission.

~4 hours later~

The scouts are outside of the village, waiting for those of the members that went inside to investigate. When the first scouts were spotted, everyone released a shaky breath they didn't know they held in.

But when they saw the looks of disbelief and confusion written all over their comrades' faces, the mood swung from relieved and happy to confused and suspicious.

Erwin is the most suspicious of them all. He had, had his eyebrows furrowed the entire time and had a gut feeling something was wrong.
But just as he finishes his thoughts a loud crash was heard and then lightning struck... The shifters!!

But before the scouts could even react, one of them was snatched up by the nearest titan, the scout disappearing down the monster's throat.

Everything went in slow motion for Eren, sweat breaking out all over his body. His stomach dropped instantly.
He felt like vomiting, and he felt his head spin but when he felt like fainting, he was being shaken awake by Armin.

"Eren snaps out of it we need you!", Armin screams at him.
Eren snaps out of it and starts to bite his hand, the blood splattering all across his face, but nothing....nothing happens.

He gets frustrated as the steam comes out of his wound, it healing as he bites.
He bites and bites and bites but still nothing. He starts to tear up, and he loses concentration on his surroundings. He is only focusing on transforming, not aware of the titan slowly approaching him from behind.

As he bites one last time, he gets interrupted by Levi screaming at him to focus and only moments later, Levi was caught by the titan instead of Eren.

As Eren's eyes grow bigger, he gives up on biting his hand and quickly grabs his sword and goes for the titan's neck, killing it instantly with the first slice.
He helps Levi to stand, all awkwardness between them forgotten as Eren embraces Levi tightly, crying into the older's shoulder.

"I-i thought I l-lost you...", Eren cries as Levi is still rattled because of the sudden pressure that had been around his body, as a result of Levi being squeezed by the titan.

He embraces Eren back and more thunder was heard as the sky darkened and roared with bright flashes of light.
Eren got startled and he almost jumped onto Levi, but he got a hold of himself and when he looked up from Levi's shoulder, he found that Levi was staring at him as the soft drizzle of water, slowly drenched them both, the drops of water hanging off of Eren's strands of hair.

As Eren was holding onto Levi, they both leaned closer and closer as their lips touched for only a second, Eren pulling away almost immediately.
He lets go of Levi and he turns around, his back facing Levi.
Levi's heart aching for Eren, his body yearning for Eren's touch. His soul reaching out to his soulmate, but not quite reaching...not just yet.

All of a sudden Eren bites his hand for the last time, in an attempt to transform, and mere seconds later his giant titan-form stands in his place, his height towering over Levi and the rest of the scouts and even the majority of the Titans.

They all jump into action and soon enough all of the titans have been killed, all of the scouts out of breath and a few with some serious battle wounds. They all regroup but someone is missing...Eren...

Levi looks around frantically for Eren, just to see a body on the ground a few meters away from them. He runs to Eren to see that he is unconscious and not showing any signs of life. Levi quickly puts his ear on Eren's chest, checking for a heartbeat, but he hears none.

He pulls Eren into his arms and he sobs, gently rocking them both back and forth, as he cries softly into the lifeless Eren's neck.

Hanji approaches Levi and puts her hand on his shoulder trying to gain his attention. He looks up at her with tears in his eyes and she sits on her knees putting her ear onto Eren's chest, carefully listening with her eyes closed. She then sits upright and looks at Levi with a slight smile.

"He's alive.", she simply says, knowing that's all that he wanted to know. And just like that the tears that were threatening to fall, went rolling down Levi's cheeks as he sighed in relief.
"Thank you.", Levi said in a small voice, Hanji nodding at him.

"Let's get him on the cart.", Hanji says as she stands up.
Levi picks up Eren swiftly and carries him to the cart closest to them, also getting on the cart and sitting next to Eren back to the headquarters, holding his hand under the blanket he threw over Eren to keep him warm.

He hoped that Hanji was right about Eren being ok. She is probably going to ask a lot of questions when they are back at HQ. Well, it was time someone got to know of them...well what they were anyways.

Hii! So I'm gonna end it here today guys! Don't worry about Eren he is going to be fine and then we can finally find out if they get back together or not.

I just wanted to take a moment and thank all of you. This book finally made it to 100 reads!! My first goal was reached so on to the next one!

I tried to make this a chapter worthy of a milestone but I get distracted a lot of times while writing this so it might not be that good, but I hope you still enjoyed it though.
