{ Lyra }

✧✦✧

𝕰uron Greyjoy was slowly becoming a thorn in Lyra and Joffrey's side, one that neither of them had the energy to deal with. Lyra raised an eyebrow as Euron entered the throne room, on the back of a large horse. The last person to do this was Tywin Lannister, after the Battle of Blackwater, and that had been five years ago. He had not met a pleasant end.

She continued to mask the shock from her face, but her eyebrows furrowed at the sight of the three prisoners that Euron dragged with him. Quickly, Lyra turned Mikael further into her neck as the three year old tried to go back to sleep. She only knew one of the prisoners, the other two unknown from her.

The crowd continued to cheer, as Lyra glanced at Joffrey, trying to work out what his thoughts were. However, her husband's face was still a façade of calm, nothing being shown at all.

"Your Grace." Euron climbed down from his horse, before yanking forward the chain with Ellaria and another girl. Lyra didn't let her face falter, still rubbing Mikael's back gently. "Please accept this gift on behalf of all your loyal subjects in the Iron Islands."

Euron threw the chains down at Joffrey's feet, who watched what was going on with a blank stare.

"I give you, something that no one else could. Justice." Lyra's jaw twitched, focusing on a spot at the back of the hall to not show how worried she truly felt. "Justice for your murdered sister."

"Thank you, my Lord." Joffrey spoke, his voice filling the room and quieting the remainder of the courtiers in the hall. "And you deserve a reward for helping me. Tell me what you would like."'

"A seat on your Small Council." Euron looked pleased with the turn of events. However, the Small Council wasn't as powerful as Euron thought. They still had meetings once a week, but the true power was in Joffrey's closest advisors; Tylar, Arah, Lyra, Drew and Jaime. Euron would hold little to no power in his new position.

Joffrey motioned for Ellaria and Tyene to be moved to the dungeons, as Lyra watched on with narrowed eyes.

"That I can do. Euron Greyjoy, I name you Master of Ships." Joffrey smirked cruelly, before he stood up to address the entire court. "Euron Greyjoy will be leading our naval force, whilst Jaime Lannister leads our armies in the battles to come."

He turned, holding a hand out for Lyra, before the pair turned their back on the cheering crowd and stalked out of the room. Mikael finally pulled his head from his mother's leg, wiggling to be let down onto the floor as Drew hurried to catch up with them.

"Your Grace, Your Grace," He bowed twice before falling in behind the pair. "The guards are going to transport the prisoners to the dungeon."

"Tell me where they are as soon as it happens," Joffrey muttered, looking around cautiously. "Mikael, stay close!"

"What will we do about this?"

"Pretend to kill them, sneak them out." Joffrey spoke softly. "They've been looking after Myrcella for years, we can not let them linger here. It would not be right."

"I agree. I'll speak to them." Lyra nodded, but Joffrey shook his head.

"It would make more sense for me to speak to them and kill them," Joffrey looked down at Lyra. "She was my sister. You don't have enough ties to them."

{ Joffrey }

Drew had finally told Joffrey where Ellaria and the other Dornish woman were being held, meaning that both of them were heading down into the dungeons far below the castle. Guards bowed their heads as the king passed, not paying him any more attention than necessary.

Joffrey snagged the keys from a nearby guard station, brushing past all of them and to the furthest dungeon in the compound. It was secluded and cut off from the others, so to not let people hear their screams.

He unlocked the door, letting him and Drew into the room. Ellaria and the other woman, a younger teenager, looked up in fear at them.

"Ellaria." Joffrey muttered, pulling the keys from his pocket and unlocking the chains from the woman's wrist. "I'm sorry we have to meet again in these situations."

"What are you doing?" Ellaria asked, eyes wide.

"Is it not obvious? Drew, catch!" Drew caught the rings of keys, unlocking the younger woman as well. "We're getting you out of here."

"Why?"

"Payback for Myrcella." Joffrey looked at the older woman, crossing his arms. "For looking after her over all these years. I haven't forgotten what you've done for my sister."

"But, the guards..."

"I'm the king. What will they do?" Joffrey shrugged. "They cannot report me to a higher authority."

"But..."

"Euron gave you two to me as a gift so I can do what I wish with you, supposedly." Joffrey opened the door, before looking out to see where the guards were and if any were nearby.

There was no one outside, causing Joffrey to throw open the door and continue walking through the cells and further into the basement of the Red Keep.

"Do you have a plan?" Ellaria hissed, ducking her head lower as they took yet another turn before locating the basement that he had been looking for.

"Yes. Here." Joffrey nodded, before pointing at the partially hidden doorway in the corner. "That leads to the city. Tonight, the guards will most likely be getting drunk in celebration of Euron's supposed victory. Sneak out, find a boat, get back to Dorne."

"I-" Ellaria looked between Drew and Joffrey before nodding. "Thank you."

"Just look after yourself, and my sister." Joffrey nodded, before backing off with Drew. "Come, Drew. We haven't seen them or been here."

"Of course not," Drew hurried along behind him, as Joffrey slid the keys back onto the desk that he had taken them from. Joffrey ruffled his hair, letting out a sigh as Rolan rushed around the corner towards him.

"Rolan."

"Your Grace, a representative of the Iron Bank is with you wife. I've been searching for you."

"I've been busy." Joffrey replied, following after Rolan. "Who is it?"

"A representative by the name of Tycho Nestoris."

"What does he want?"

"I'm not sure. I would assume something to do with the debt that earlier rulers have created." Rolan shook his head.

"Lyra will have a handle on this," Joffrey murmured, taking the stairs two at a time to get closer to both his wife and son as quickly as possible. The King's Guard members opened the door for him as Joffrey entered the room.

Lyra was sitting, in what would be Joffrey's chair, at the head of the table. Elia was sitting by her side, whilst Mikael sat on her lap and Joffrey was reminded of the tales of old about the Northern kings who would rule with their direwolves.

"Joff," Lyra smiled innocently. "I was just informing Tycho that we would be returning the gold to him within the next four days to be returned to the Iron Bank and that, until the gold arrived, he would be a most welcomed guest in the Red Keep."

"Your wife is incredibly efficient," Tycho turned to Joffrey with a smile. "She reminds me of your grandfather in some ways."

"She's a lot prettier than my grandfather." Joffrey chuckled, before squeezing Lyra's shoulder. "But she is right. Please, be our guest whilst here. Rolan."

"Of course. My Lord, I'll lead you to chambers," Tycho bowed his head, before standing and strolling out of the room as Lyra looked up at her husband.

"Ellaria?"

"Already out." Joffrey muttered, reaching for his son's hand as the boy toddled towards the rug where his toys were waiting. Mikael grinned, before settling down as Joffrey knelt next to him.

"Da..." Mikael held up the toy wolf for his father to see. "Lia!"

"Yes, it's Elia and your mother."

"You're going to confuse him." Lyra called as Elia prowled around the man to slump next to Mikael. "I don't need him looking at Elia and calling her Mama. That would be difficult to explain to the other courtiers."

"Fine." Joffrey rolled his eyes, grinning, before pointing at the woman. "Mikael, Mama."

"Mama! Mama! Mama!" Mikael chanted, nodding his head, before leaning back and clinging to one of Elia's larger paws. "Lia!"

Hiya,

These, and the next few chapters, give me grief cause there's not as much going on at the moment so sorry for the late update. But, Mikael is super cute and he's so sweet and I love him to bits. Elia and Lyra are fun and Joffrey's done with others.

Let me know what you think,

Love Li xx
