Lee's POV

Me, Kenny, and Carley are walking down a Savannah street getting closer to river street. I look at a car to see it's completly picked clean. Whoever stripped this car was very thorough. We continue on down the street with Kenny a little farther ahead of me and Carley.

Carley: Hey Lee, is it just me or does Kenny seem a little different?

I knew exactly what she meant, but decided to act dumb in case I was wrong.

Lee: What do you mean? He just seems a little more serious then before.

Carley: But do you think he cares about finding Y/N and Chuck, and Aiden?

Lee: .....

Caley: Tell him to keep his eyes out for them and see what he says.

Lee: Hey Kenny.

Kenny: Yea?

Lee: Keep your eyes out for Y/N Chuck, and Aiden, they might be around here someplace.

Kenny: Yea, sure.

Carley didn't like that answer and glared at him with his back turned.

Lee: If we find a boat tho we will still look for them right?

Kenny: Yea, yea, LEE, I get it. We almost there, so let's look for the boat.

We then hear the bells going again.

Kenny: Sonavabitch, that bastards fucking with us again. It's another trap!

Carly: Wait these bells don't seem to be right on us, but on a different street.

Lee: She's right, it's not the same as before. These bells are further off, so the dead with head over there.

We hear walkers behind us as we hide behind a small indent on the building as a wall.

Kenny: What in the hell is going on?

Lee: I have no idea but somebody must be ringing those bells.

Kenny: Whatever man. I find out whose doing that, I'll ring their motherfucking bell for em.

Lee: Good one.

Carley: Hey Quasimodo called, he wants his bells back.

I giggle a little at this while Kenny just continues to watch the group of walkers. They finally are out of site as we continue on to the riverfront.

Kenny: Hmph. Come on let's keep moving.

We keep walking as I walk backwards to make sure nothing is following us.

Lee: Nothing seems to be following us, I think where-

I see the condition of the riverfront and it does not look good.

Lee: Oh my god.

I put both my hands behind my head (Naruto Style) as I continued too look at the abandoned and destroyed riverfront. There is only 1 boat that I see, but to me it doesent look salvageable, but what do I know about boats.

Kenny: There's gotta be a boat. There's gotta be.

Carley: Maybe we should head back and think up of a different plan. Maybe find Y/N and-

Kenny: THIS IS THE PLAN! ITS WHAT WE GOT!

We try to stop him but he just runs off to the boat I mentioned as he examines it.

Kenny: This one might still be salvageable.

Carley: Kenny the boat is FUCKED man we need a new plan.

Kenny: Excuse me but whose the expert on boats here? Oh thats right last time I checked that was ME!

Carley was now starting to get really pissed of on how stubborn Kenny is being right now.

Kenny: I'll check it out you should go look down the river maybe there is something on the other end.

Lee: I don't think we should split too far.

Kenny: You don't have to. See that telescope? You can look along all the riverfront from right here. See what you can find.

Lee: *Sighs* Ok.

Me and Carley walk away while Kenny continues to examine the boat.

Carley: God that guy is starting to get on my last nerve. First he brushes off looking for Y/N and the others and now he's being a stubborn mule over this goddamn boat.

Lee: I know your pissed off right now Carley.

Carley: That ain't the half of it.

Lee: But we gotta keep our heads. Yes Kenny is being a stubborn hard ass right now, but once he finds out that boat can't be saved we'll be outta here in no time. Let's just look around for a bit, see if we can find anything useful.

Carley: *Sighs* Alright Lee. I'm with you.

She grabs my hand and in the process kisses my cheek. My face feels hot as it glows a little red. She notices this and speaks again.

Carley: Oh do I make you flustered Lee?

Lee: Wh-W-Wha- What? I-I-I- Uhhh.

Calrey: *Laughs* Jesus christ Lee I'm only teasing. You do look cute when your flustered tho.

Realizing what she just said it made her blush a little.

Carley: I mean it's just fun to tease you.

Lee: Well then maybe I should come back at you later with a fresh set of batteries.

This causes her to lightly punch my shoulder in a joking matter.

Carley: Oh fuck you for that little jab.

Lee: Hahaha I mean it's just fun to tease you.

Carley: Oh hardy har har.

I go to look through the telescope but it's all black when I try to look through it.

Lee: Great. Needs a quarter to work.

Carley: LEE!

Lee: Carley what's up?!

Carley: You gotta come see this!

I go to see what she was looking at and it was one gruesome site to behold. It was a huge wall of walkers that where mushed up together with muck and shit.

Lee: What the hell.

Carley: This is so disgusting.

Lee: What was this meant to be some kind of warning?

Carley: Warning or not this is just sick. Who would do something like this?

Walkers: Aggghhhhhhh! Wwwrrrraaaahggggghhhh!

Lee: Using walkers like scarecrows. What sick bastard did this?

Carley: Alright I think I've seen enough of this. Let's go look for that quarter.

We split up to cover more ground. Carley looks insid a cash register inside a mini book stand, but there is nothing in it. Figures but it makes sense because that would have made it too easy. I find a newspaper rack and use my monkey wrench to break it and a quarter falls out. I grab it and make my way back to the telescope with Carley. Before I was able to insert the quarter I hear Kenny scream.

Kenny: FUCK!

Lee: Whats with the boat?

Kenny: It ain't gonna work. Hulls cracked beneath the waterline, plus SOMEONE stripped out the battery.

Carley: Told you that boat was fucked.

Kenny: Lucky ass guess.

Lee: You cant fix it?

Once I asked that question Kenny sees the man made walker all behind us and looked just as shocked as me and Carley where.

Kenny: What the? What the hell is that??

Lee: A fate worse then death.

Carley: What makes this even worse is that I saw..... I saw.....

Lee: What is it Carley?

Carley: I saw a few children in the corner over there as walkers for this wall.

Carley is left shivering over what she saw. I put my hand on her shoulder to turn her around and embrace her. She is a little surprised by this, but ends up hugging back sobbing a little on my chest.

Carley: I don't even wanna see that as a fate for Y/N, Clem, or Duck.

Lee: I don't either Carley. We won't let something as gruesome as that happen to them.

Kenny seems to be deep in thought. What you thinking about Kenny?

Kenny's Mind: These is just horrible. Even children too? What sick and twisted mother fucker would stoop this low amount of disrespect on these people. Yea not all of them are good, but not all of them are bad. Most children don't even get a chance to see if they would be good or bad, there is no excuse for children. I sware if I ever find out who did this I will beat the holy hell outta him, Boat God Style! Then I'll break his arms and legs and feed him to the walkers.

Kenny walks up closer to the walker wall examining it more as I put the quarter into the telescope. I look around and I see plenty of water and some land, but it's too far to get to it being across the water, but not a single boat in site.

Lee: The Tlamage Memorial Bridge. Hmm, can't imagine how many people tried to escape across it when the city started to fall.

Carley: Go Golden State Warriors.

Kenny: What?

Lee: Hu?

Carley: Oh sorry. The bridge just reminded me of an NBA Basketball Team called The Golden State Warriors and their Logo looks similar to that bridge and they won the championship this year before the world went to shit. And finally Steph Curry got his Finals MVP! Proud of that young man. One of the best in the last 75 years. God I miss Basketball.

(But no seriously congrats to The Golden State Warriors for winning the 2022 NBA Championship and sorry to those who didn't know and read this all I can say is my bad. Also Im saying it right now that Stpeh is the new King of basketball. Yea they may be tied in rings, but it's only a matter of time cause Steph is a good as he's always been and proved all the people wrong about them only having a 18% chance to win while Boston had like 85% or sum shit! James is still a decent ass player. I'm not saying he's bad. I'm saying Stpeh is just better.

Kenny: I miss may days where I would go fishing with my wife and kid.

Lee: Hell I miss my days back at my school. I had everything lad out for me and if this world never came to be I would be in jail serving time right now and I never would have got to meet any of you guys. Sure there are parts of the other world that I'll miss, but I can make the best of it instead of just sitting around complaining about it. Where all dealing with the same problem, only there are no laws anymore. You either survive or die. So let's survive. Together. As a family.

Calrey look shocked at his speech, all that of what he just said right there was enough for Carley as she has small tears coming out her eyes and rushes over to the Lee and kisses him on the lips outta nowhere. Now she had me shocked as I eventually give in and kiss her back. We have are arms wrapped around each other as we sit here for a good minute while Kenny kept looking away.

Kenny: It's about time damn someone did it.

Lee: Really Ken.

Kenny: Oh come on it was obvious ever since before we got attacked by those bandits at the Motor Inn. I saw that kiss you gave him there.

Carley: You where spying on us?

Kenny: Know see when you put it that way it sounds bad.

We all laugh as we try to calm some tension in ourselves. It's been an eventful day and we still got the other half of today to go through. I got back to looking through the telescope as I look past the bridge and all the way to the left as I see someone climbing down a building with some sort of climbing tool. They get lower and lower down the building and moves toward us.

Lee: Get down. GET DOWN.

We all hide behind a small wall with a railing against it to hide from whoever that is. They make it to the newspaper stand examining it.

Kenny: Why in the hell are we hiding?

Carley: You saw someone didn't you Lee?

Lee: Yea I did. They came down from that building at the end of the street.

Kenny: Where did they go?

Lee: Saw them move over to the news stand.

Kenny: Could be our bell ringer. How about we go find out.

Kenny has a serious look on his face as he says this. He looks like he wants to hurt whoever they are. But we do need to find out if there not a threat.

Lee: Sounds like a plan.

Carley: But where not hurting anyone right?

Kenny: Not unless they try something. No exceptions?

Lee and Carley: I-

Kenny: Good. Ok Lee you go up the middle of the street, I'll go around the side, cover your flank. Well come up on them quiet. Take them by surprise.

Kenny then pulls out his gun.

Lee: We just wanna talk to them.

Kenny: OH where gonna talk.

Kenny then climbs over the railing and then I jump over.

Kenny: Carley you stay back here and give Lee Support if they have him hostage. I know your deadly shoot from afar with a pistol, so it'd be nice to have someone they can't fight if they can't see you.

Carley nods to this plan as we all move to our spots. Carley is behind the railing looking over at the news stand. Kenny is covering my flank in the alley. I walk up the middle of the street and they continue to look inside the news stand. I make it to the counter of the news, stand up and pull out my monkey wrench ready to tell them to surrender, but when I looked inside they where gone.

Lee: What the?!

Next thing I know my monkey wrench gets taken from behind me by the same person, but just before they could swing the monkey wrench a gunshot goes off hitting the moneky wrench out of their hand. Allowing me a little distraction to swing a left hook, but they duck and then go for a counter uppercut. I dodge it then swing my left hand down on their face again hitting them this time as they fall flat on their back and I get on top of them holding my gun right between their eyes. I was about to pull the trigger until I hear a pair of kids voices.

Clem and Duck: Lee.

Lee: CLEM. DUCK.

They try to reach for my guy however I see this and aim the gun closer to their face. They take their hood off revealing themselves to be a young girl with blonde hair.

???: Your not from Crawford.

Lee: Crawford? What the hell you talking about?

???: Mind if I get up?

Lee: Slowly.

I allow them to get up as they take their mask off showing showing her whole face. Kenny then comes out of the alley walking closer to her while still aiming his gun.

Lee: Kenny don't!

She does a backsweep knocking Kenny off his feet causing the gun to shoot when it hits the ground. She kicks it away and was about to finish him off with her hook.

Lee: NO! He's with us?

This caused her to stop last second before she just stuck that hook in Kenny's head.

We all just stare at each other as Carley then jumps over the railing she was hiding behind reveling herself.

Carley: Lee are you ok.

Kenny: Seem to me he had everything under control.

Lee: Only because of Carley with the assist.

???: Who the hell are you people?

Lee: I asked my question first.

???: Well fist things first the name is Molly.

Lee: Molly, I'm Lee, this is Carley, Kenny, Duck, and Clementine. We aren't looking for any trouble

Clem: Hi.

Duck: Howdy.

Molly then stares at both Clem and Duck as she also looks a little shocked while they waved at her.

Molly: You guys really aren't from Crawford are you?

Carley: We don't even know what that is.

Molly: Everything beyond that barricade.

Lee: What the hell happened here?

Molly: You sure you wanna know?

Me and Carley both nod our heads wanting her to tell us what that barricades was all about.

Molly: When everything started going to shit, some people got together and sealed that whole side of the city off, stop the dead from coming in. I try to avoid them.

Kenny: Why?

Molly: Let's just say Crawford have a zero tolerance policy for anyone who won't, or can't, listen by their rules.

Carley: So how'd you know we weren't them?

Molly then looks at the kids

Molly: Because there are no children in Crawford. Not anymore.

Lee: What you mean no children? Why not?

Molly: No children, no eldery, nobody with an advanced medical condition. Basically anyone who'd be a burden on the community. Crawford is all about survival of the fittest. THATS how they survived. While the rest of the world went to SHIT around them.

Kenny: Jesus Christ.

Molly: Well just the opposite when you think about it.

Lee: But still, children.

Carley: Your not saying they-

Molly just shrugs her arms.

Lee: My god.

Carley: I think I'm gonna be sick.

Kenny: In gods name, why.

Molly: Nobody stays in Crawford unless they can pull their own weight. Otherwise your just another mouth to feed. Another drain on their precious reacorces.

Clem: What does that mean pull their own weight?

Lee: It just means being able to help out, like you and Y/N do all the time.

This causes Duck to look a little sad after not hearing that he helps out.

Kenny: Doesent sound like any kind of way to live to me.

Carley: I wouldn't wish that fate on anyone. Not even for the bad children.

Molly: Couldn't agree more.

Lee: How do you know about this?

Molly: Everyone in Savannah knew. What  went around Crawford got passed around like a ghost story. Only this one was true.

We all take a minute to wrap our heads around what we had just been told by Molly. I look at Clem as I question her on how her and Duck got here.

Lee: Clem and Duck what the hell are you two doing out here? How did you get out of the house?

Clem: Omid started to get really sick. Christa, Ben, Katjaa, and Max had to take him upstairs.

Duck: I tried to convince her to stay, but she wasent giving me much choice, so I couldn't let her go by herself.

Clem: We didn't wanna just sit around there, we wanted to come help.

Lee: I told you we didn't need any help.

I turn my attention back to Molly as I see a small frown appear on Clem's face. I know she wants to help, but right now I already lost Y/N and I can't lose her next. I can't lose 2 kids in one day. I won't allow it.

Lee: Was that you this morning? Watching me through the back fence?

Molly: Hell no! Believe it or not I got better things to do with my time.

Carley: Do you know whose been ringing those bells all over town?

Molly: Yea, that would be me.

Kenny then looks visibly pissed.

Kenny: I knew it, Lee! I knew she's the one who's been following us! FUCKING with us!

Molly: Get that finger outta my face grandpa, before I jam it straight up your ass. I haven't been following you, I don't even know who the hell you people are.

Lee: Relax Kenny the voice on the radio was a guy remeber?

Kenny: Yea well, whoever you are riding those bells this morning nearly got us all killed. Raised the dead all around us.

Molly: That's the idea genius. It's how I get around. I ring the bells in one neighborhood attracting all the local geeks towards it. Leaves me some time to check the places they cleared out.

Kenny: Geeks? Is that what you call them?

Molly: Yea you know like at the carnival. They'll eat anything alive or dead.

Lee: That's actually a smart idea with the bells.

Carley: Well they are pretty stupid.

Molly: Preach sista. Doesent take much to outsmart the dead. Their a bunch of dumbasses. You just gotta move in fast, get in and out before they start to wonder back again. Ok so your not from Crawford, so I'll ask again who the hell are you people what are you doing here?

Lee: We came looking for a boat, hoping to get outta here and to find our people somewhere safe. Where also looking for 3 of our own. A small boy with an old man and another guy who looks like he's from the military.

Molly: As for the boat good luck with that. Any person with a boat took it out of here the second people started eating eachother. Anything that got left behind Crawford stripped them for parts. Cars too.

Kenny: There's gotta be something.

Carley: If there was do you think she'd still be here?

Molly: Right again. I've been over every inch of this city, this whole place is picked clean.

Kenny: Goddamnit! FUCK.

Carley: Kenny, jesus keep it down will ya?

Molly: Yea moron you wanna keep your voice down?

Kenny: Shit.

Molly: As for those 3 people you described they wouldn't happen to be the 3 amigos who where singing in spanish where they?

Clem: That sounds like Y/N and Aiden.

Lee: Yes they do.

Carley: Where did they go?

Molly: Last I checked they went into the sewers after getting swarmed by a hoard of geeks.

Carley: Did you see any of them get bit?

Molly: No. At least from what I know because I didn't go in after them.

This only worries Lee, Carley, and Clem even more on how Y/N and Aiden are doing.

Molly: Anyway I'd suggest you go back to wherever you came from before-

Before she finishes her sentence we hear groans as we look behind us to see a group of walkers coming to us.

Molly: Great. Just great.

Carley: Oh come the fuck on.

Kenny: Isint that the-

Lee: The way we came.

Kenny: Fuck, gunshot must have brought them back.

Duck: Isint there another way back to the house?

Lee: Molly, is there a-

Molly dissapears from behind us as she uses her hook to climb up on some metal stairs on the side of the building.

Lee: HEY! Your just gonna leave us here!?

Molly: Sorry I seemed to have missed the part where you became my problem.

Kenny: So what are we supposed to do!?

Molly: Don't know, don't care.

Carley: We have children with us, please you have to help us!

Clem: Don't leave us here! PLEASE!

Duck: We don't wanna die!

Molly looks back down at the 2 kids who give her puppy dog eyes. Not even she can say no to the puppy doh eyes as she gives in to help.

Molly: Come on. Make it fast.

First Clem and Duck go up, then Carley. It's Kenny's turn to head up as the walkers round the corner and into the alley where in.

Kenny: Oh fuck me.

Lee: Come on Come on hurry!

I help get Kenny up as I wait for him to reach his hand out.

Clem: Come on Lee!

Kenny: Come on pal. One good jump.

I jump up and grab his hand, but I don't have any leverage making it harder to pull me up as Kenny losses my hand and I fall back down. With no time left to try and pull me up again I move farther down the alley and move the giant trash out the way.

Clem: Lee hurry!

Carley: You can make it out Lee!

I start to run farther down the alley, but with little success as more walkers appear from that end as well trapping me between 2 groups of walkers. I see a manhole below me as my only option left to get outta this situation.

Kenny: Come on Lee! Get your ass outta there!

Lee: GAHHHHHH I can't get it open.

Molly throws her hook down to me.

Molly: Here use that to pry it open.

I take the hook and pry the manhole open as I make my way into the sewers last minute.

Clem and Carley: LEEEEE!

I make it to the bottom of the ladder as I see the walkers above trying to get me. I check my sorrundings for a second to make sure nothing is gonna sneak up on me. I look back up as a walker falls down and kills itself due to the impact of its fall. I look back up out the manhole hoping my voice finds Clementine.

Lee: Clementine can you hear me?

No response.

Lee: If you can hear me just get back to the house ok. I'll meet you there.

I turn around and look down further into the sewers then back at the ladder one last time.

Lee: No turning back now. Shit.

Holy shit its been a while since I updated any of my stories. If I'm being honest I got back more into this series, so my other book is currently on hold for the moment. Life has just been in the way, but it won't stop me from writing. Just bear with me people. I'm trying my damndest to make this series enjoyable for all my Wattpad readers. Season 2 is almost upon us and oh boy me and my partner Noaholly1 already have so much planned for season 2. I just hope I can get it done right.
