Tell Me About It

Clay's POV

We ran past all the cottages and shops of Shield Village to confront Jestro. I decided that I would have to mime what I wanted the others to do, when it was time to do it. I just wasn't ready to confess yet.

I was too afraid. Afraid that she would reject me. Afraid that the others would laugh at me. Afraid that our friendship wouldn't be able to survive it.

"Its the Knights! Monsters, attack!" Jestro commanded. The fight broke out. I looked around to see what it could do- and spotted a ton of flying rock monsters heading straight for Aaron, Axl and Lance!
My mind sifted through all the different strategies they could use, and decided on a V formation. It would drive the monsters into a group, and make it easier to defeat them.

I waved wildly to get Aaron and co.'s attention. Aaron caught sight of me, and called to Axl and Lance. I drew a V shape in the air in front of me, then pointed in the direction of the oncoming monsters.

"What?" Aaron yelled, so I repeated the actions again. And again. And again. And again, getting more frantic each ti-

"Woaahh!" a monster knocked Aaron off his hovershield! Thank goodness he hadn't been flying too high...

Lance and Axl ran over to check on him, and Lance gave me a thumbs up to show that Aaron was OK. Then two monsters leapt on top of him (Lance) and started wrestling with him. I tried to mime at him what he needed to do.

Nobody guessed my charade in time. Axl eventually pulled the monsters off Lance, but they called for reinforcements and now swarms of the rock demons were attacking the two Knights.
I decided to give up miming and fought as hard as I could, hoping that the others would be okay.

But no such luck.

In a matter of minutes, Lance was unconscious, Axl had lost his axe, and Aaron was still a bit dazed from his fall. Macy seemed to be doing alright, though...
I'm not trying to brag or anything, but without me (and maybe Macy), we wouldn't be able to win.

"Clay!" Macy shouted at me, beating a rock scurrier away with her mace at the same time. "You've got to start talking again! Your silence is costing us our wellbeing!"

Macy was right. I couldn't let my friends get hurt just because I was nervous of telling my crush something. I slashed my sword at two monsters and took a deep breath.

"M-Macy," I stammered. "There's something I need to tell you."

"Oh, great," Monstrux said, loudly enough so that we could hear him from a few metres away. "There's some Claycy going on!"

"You're not a big fan?" Jestro asked, equally loudly.

"Its a terrible ship! They'd be more like brother and sister than romantic partners."

"I dunno," I saw Jestro put his head on one side. "It's kinda cute."

"No, its not. Let's leave!"

"Oh, fine. Monsters! Retreat." And just like that, our enemies were gone.

I laughed, nervous and embarrassed now. "Well, anyway... Macy, I have a c-cr... a cr..."

"A...?" Macy prompted. She was smiling.

"A... crush... on you," I was as red as a rose. "Since that day we sat together at lunch at the Knights' Academy."

"Really?" Macy stepped closer to me. "That's a long time."

"Yeah, i-it is," I put one hand behind my head. "That was mostly the reason I couldn't speak for a while. You see, it's a crazy stor-"

That was when Macy kissed me. And for a few minutes, I felt like I was in heaven...

Macy gently pulled away and smiled at me. "Tell me about it on the way." She started leading me to the others, who were a bit of a way away. And just before we turned around, I thought I saw a blonde boy in a white toga peeking 'round from behind a house, grinning at me and giving me a thumbs up....

THE END.

A/n: There! That's my contest entry done. Hope you enjoyed it, everyone! Macy likes Clay too, if you want confirmation.
