-THE HOSTAGE-

"Damnit!"

A glass flew by Kurogiri's head. Shattering against the wall. Shigaraki shook some in anger, panting unevenly.

Izanami watched a bit boredly from the bar, sitting on the counter. Her foot tapping against the air in a secret rhythmic pattern. A small grin on her face as she watched Shigaraki throw a tantrum.

Kurogiri sighed, already thinking about how many things they'll need to replace after his tantrum. Finally, Izanami decided to intervene.

"Hey, pouty-baby."

They all knew who she was talking to.

"Calm down. It may not be much, but I have a little gift for you."

Believe it or not, Shigaraki absolutely loves gifts. (Especially little robots or collectible figures, things he can look at and watch[not cannon but because I think it's funny]) He perked up, and Izanami smiled evenly behind her mask.

"Presentation Micheal. Broken and ready for interrogation."

It goes silent, a few lackey's gaping in shock.

"How-?"

"Did you forget how, persuasive, I can be?"

Shigaraki goes silent, before Izanami speaks again.

"I'll have to bring him food eventually. Maybe dinner. That gives us time to watch the heroes squirm. Think how scared they'd be, for one of UA's own staff to be captured without a trace."

Her sadistic grin spoke for itself. And it spelt out exactly what she planned to do to get her message across.

Nezu sat in his office, frowning at the reports. He had to make an outline for the UA's public statement about the recent attack. He already knew what to say, but what threw him off was Present Mic's absence.

He said he would stay outside the USJ, look for villains trying to escape. But when they came back out, he was gone. All the camera were fried, so there was no way of knowing what happened to him. Unless they got it from one of the lackeys.

But getting any information out of them was already being proven difficult. Each person told a different truth. Almost like it was planned that they would get caught, and everyone was given different information. Recruited by different people, no clear leader to point fingers at.

But there was one thing that came up during one of the interviews. One of the newer criminals paled when the detective asked about any prominent figure. Anyone who seemed to have a large amount of influence over the group.

After some prodding, he spilled everything he knew about him. Average height, dressed like the Punisher with a black mask. Of the few rumored veterans, he was the one who directed all of them. Who talked to each recruit, and gave them a plan and a task. The mastermind. Who killed somebody who tried to desert the group.

They were able to get a sketch, and asked the rest of the criminals about him. Each one elicited a fearful response. And it quickly became clear who was behind the attack, and the capture of Mic. Now, they just had to wait until he showed himself.

—A shorter chapter, but I wanted to take a quick poll. Who should Izanami cross paths with next? It can be just about anyone in the series, so feel free to comment what you think!—
