Chapter 6
As Kapok dove downwards toward a ravine I assumed we were stopping for prey, before smacking myself with my talons.
I'm such a dummy the dragonets were born in the mountains of course they would live in one.
As we landed and walked through a small cave that ended in what looked like a dead end I paused but got confused when Kapok kept walking.
"Why are we he-" I got interrupted as Kapok reached into a crack in the wall and pulled on something.
Kapok continued by pulling on a rounded part of the wall which I soon realized was a makeshift door made from a boulder. We walked inside to be greeted by a nervous looking Seawing.
"Hello Webs." Kapok said
"Oh thank the moons it's you Kapok I thought they were sending Cirrus with the dragonet." The apparently named Webs said.
"It's fine I don't like that Icewing either they give me the chills no pun intended." Kapok said with a bit of a laugh.
Suddenly I saw a little Sandwing poke their head out from a corner.
I waved and they ducked away I could hear talons scrapping on stone as multiple more dragonets appeared. At first it was just the little odd looking Sandwing, than came out a Seawing, followed closely by a Mudwing, and then exited a Nightwing, then they were followed by a dragonet I didn't expect a Rainwing was the last to round the corner and they stayed mostly to the shadows probably trying not to be noticed.
Oh I'm a snailbrian those are the dragonets of destiny... but why is their a Rainwing with them?
"Come in come in." Webs said while ushering was in with his talons.
"Hi!" I said as friendly as possible.
Then continued, "I'm Permafrost."
"They are also our lost Skywing." Kapok chimed in.
I heard a gasp come the littlest one and a scoff from the Seawing.
"They're a hybrid though." Said the Seawing dragonet.
"That dosen't matter they'll be useful they have they powers Starflight never developed, and they have frost breath as well as being able to breathe fire." Kapok said with annoyance.
The Seawing scoffed again then said, "we're they even born on the brightest night."
"They were actually." Kapok said.
The Seawing rolled her eyes and sat down. Suddenly another dragon flew into the cave at first I was ready to attack because it was a Skywing but than realized everyone else still looked calm.
"Hello Kestrel." Kapok said.
I noticed from her voice that she didn't particularly like this dragon.
"Hello." Kestrel said bluntly, then looked at me and said, "so this is our lost Skywing huh."
"Yes they are now I need to speak to you in private." Kapok said, and the three older dragons left to another part of the cave closing the entranceway behind them. I looked over at the other dragonets the Nightwing was looking at me with wonder, The Sandwing with excitement, the Mudwing with excitement as well, and than the Rainwing and Seawing both looked annoyed. Taking a closer look at the Rainwing I saw blue popping up in her scales before being quickly stamped out. Before I had a chance to look into her thoughts to see why the odd looking Sandwing started to talk,
"Hi! I'm Sunny, the Mudwing is Clay, the Nightwing Is Starflight, and the big grumps are Tsunami and Glory." Sunny said.
As Sunny bombarded me with questions it reminded me of Moon it was adorable. It was all interrupted when Kapok came walking out of the cave looking very annoyed and angry as I could see Dark red and even some Black popping up around her scales she immediately came up to me and started to whisper in my ear.
"They plan on keeping you locked in here like the other dragonets have been. Don't say anything I'll come get you and the other dragonets out soon don't try anything." Kapok whispered this quickly and then left to wait by the boulder.
a large Sandwing walked out a bit after and used some weird rock piece around his neck and opened the entrance and led Kapok back outside. Once he went back into tbe cave with the othwr dragons I was fuming.
"Let me guess the Rainwing told you that your stuck here like us?" Tsunami said unhelpfuly.
"Whatever." I said.
I walked around with Sunny for a few hours after that with her showing me around and asking me questions. After a bit we ran into Starflight again. He started to ask me tons of questions as well and after a bit I heard Sunny thinking about how she had a headache and slipped out of the part of the cave they were in.
"Um so can you really read minds." Starflight asked nervously.
I sighed and said, "Starflight it's not your fault you don't have powers it's the Talons Of Peace's fault if they had hatched you outside the mountain you would have powers, our powers come from our eggs being exposed to the light of the full moons." I said with a sad expression.
Starflight gasped and sat down with a sad face.
"So I'll never have powers." He said looking down at his talons.
"That might not be the case." I said, then continued, "I'll try to help you develop some."
(Woohoo writers block is finally kicking in how fun I barely passed 900 words)
