Chapter 11

We had been the Skywings prisoner's for about 3 days now Clay had to fight an Icewing. I could tell he didn't want to hurt him let alone kill him. Luckily Glory used her venom from afar which ended up killing him. The thing that surprised me was that no one else noticed that it was Glory who had used the venom.

I decided not to say anything. I still hadn't thought of a way to use the bucket. I knew I could easily use it to get myself out right now, but I didn't know how I was gonna use it to also get the other dragonets out.

Ugh I hate this I should have been able to think of a way to use this stupid bucket to get us out of here by now. That or something else in my pouch. It shouldn't be this hard to think of something!

My snout wrinkled as I got angrier. The queen had tried to make me fight once but I nearly pulled every other dragon down with me fighting against the guards, so they ended up just leaving me there.

I could have fought better if the stupid band on my snout was gone. I could open my jaw enough to talk roughly, but not nearly enough to use frost breath. I could maybe shoot fire but definitely not a large amount.

I mostly just clawed them up with my serrated claws and doged their attacks with mind reading.

I could however tell that the queen had definitely not given up. She really wanted to see me fight I could see in her eyes when she herself came up to my pilar.

"Why don't you want to fight?" I heard the queen's voice say from behind me.

I gave a little jump and turned around.

How did I not hear her I've had my mind reading open it's no longer blocked for the Skywings only the other prisoner's.

"Aren't you supposed to be part Nightwing? Do you not have any of their powers it sure looked like you did when you were fighting those guards." She stated annoyingly.

"I wasn't paying attention. And I do have their powers all of them." I said more truthfully then Scarlet probably realized.

The Nightwing's were known to have Animus's in the past actually there was one in the generation right before me. Stonemover. So if I said all of their powers that meant Animus powers as well.

Scarlet was looking at me curiously. Her yellow eyes glittering in the afternoon light.

"All of them?" She said.

"Mind reading and future sight." I said leaving out Animus powers for an obvious reasons.

Queen Scarlet hummed as she looked up and down my multi colored scales. It was almost as if I could feel her stare everywhere it went.

First over my black scales form the Nightwing's then up to my wings looking obviously with hatred at the Icy colored scales. Then finally moving her eyes down to look at my orange under scales. I had a few on my main body scales but they were mostly on my under scales.

"So your Magmas daughter correct? The one who tried to come make peace here a while back so she could pass through without being attacked?" She asked.

"Yes that's correct." I replied looking coldly at her.

"Hmmm. And your father is an Icewing right? What's his name?" She continued.

"Frost he was originally a junior scout with his trainer Icebreaker. She was killed by an Nightwing and that's when Frost met my mother Magma." I explained repeating the short story my parents had told me.

She looked at me even more curiously.

"Do you know who their parents were?" She asked.

I looked at her confused.

"Your parents, parents." She clarified.

"Oh. Um yeah I believe so." I said a bit surprised.

Scarlet gave me an expectant look.

This was suspicious but there was no reason I couldn't tell her about who my family was she could figure it out herself if she really wanted to.

"My dad's parents were Iceberg and Atlantic. Iceberg was his father he was a soldier, and his mother was Atlantic. She was part of a hunting party for the 3 circle dragons." I explained about my dad's parents.

"3 circle dragons?" Scarlet asked.

"Hm? Oh. Circles are just the Icewing's rankings." I clarified.

"Ah ok. And your mother?" She asked again.

"Oh well her father was a Nightwing his name was Stargazer I believe. I think he was prophet." I told her.

What Scarlet didn't know was that to the Nightwing's a prophet was just someone who made up prophecy's not actually had them.

"And her mother was a Skywing as you should know, her name was Thunder. She was a scout for your mother when she was queen. She died a few months back when she was attacked by a Nightwing while visiting my grandpa." I told her. A bit of sadness in my voice Thunder had been my one grandparent I was close to.

"Oh." She said bluntly but with no obvious sympathy in her voice.

"Well anyway back to my original question. Why don't you want to fight?" Scarlet asked then continued, "I mean you could mabye even had a chance at beating Peril with your mish-mash of powers and genral abilities."

I looked her over carefully for a moment before answering. I could see a dangerous tint in her eyes I had noticed it appeared after I mentioned grandma Thunder.

"I don't particularly enjoy hurting other dragons let alone killing them. I prefer to use my abilities and powers for good reasons that help other dragons not harm them." I replied simply yet truthfully.

My yellow eyes met her similarly colored ones. We stared at eachother with such intensity your eyes might get burned if you stared with us to long.

"Hm." Scarlet hummed breaking the silence.

"Thunder and she was a scout correct? One of the scouts who went out to look for land to build new towns right?" Scarlet questioned.

I was surprised that Scarlet had brought the subject of my family back up since she herself had been the one to originally change it.

"Did she by chance have redish orangeish scales? With fully orange underscales and Yellow eyes similar to yours?" Scarlet asked.

"Yes she did." I answered coldly wondering how Scarlet knew  so much.

Scarlet had almost described my grandmother in perfect detail only leaving out the multiple scars she had and the way her snout was littered with tiny red freckles. And how she always wore a sapphire earing with silver wrapped around it. It had clashed horribly with her scales but she adored it. But other then the few things Scarlet had recalled what my grandmother looked like in pristine detail.

I looked her up and down and saw anger in her eyes not at me but at something you could tell happened years ago. Mabye even before Scarlet herself was born.

Two things were for sure. Queen Scarlet definitely still wanted me to battle, and she was hiding something...

(Yay 1203 words that the perfect amount I wanted!)
