43 | Lilac

Andy waits upstairs for me, her eyes finding mine as soon as the basement door shuts behind me and then she looks past my shoulder, raising a brow.

"Is it done?"

I nod, not trusting my voice right now as I walk for the stairs, my eyes on the bathroom, needing to scrub my body of his stench and memory.

I stop at the bottom step, turning to look back at Andy, "Anything new?"

"I still haven't been able to find Sebastian." She mutters, lifting her cup of tea to her lips, "And Liam has heard nothing from him."

I nod, walking up the stairs.

"Lilac."

I turn, lifting a brow at Andy, my hand on the bannister tightening.

"We'll find him."

I swallow, "All I care about is finding Samael."

I turn, but not before seeing the wariness cross Andy's face, her disbelief in my statement obvious.

And I don't blame her, I'm not sure I believe myself.

The bar is just opening when I walk through the door and I lift a hand to wave at Lukas and Ray before walking for the back staircase, taking the stairs quickly.

Walking the hallway, I reach the door to the apartment quickly and knock, waiting for noice to come in before slowly picking the door open and peaking my head in.

"Just making sure you're not naked right now." I say when the door is fully opens and Holland rolls her eyes, "Ha-Ha." Her hands are curled around her, and I look to where Archer stands, making what look to be a sandwich.

Holland catches my eyes, "I'm hungry." She say to no question at all.

"Didn't ask."

"It's because this is the third lunch I've made her. The first made her vomit. The second she ate and she wanted another plate."

"Oh." I smile, walking closer and taking a seat on the bed beside her. "Pregnancy seems like a ball."

Hollands eyes close for a second as she nods, "Mhmmm. Everything makes me feel sick."

"Well. You only have yourself to blame." I mutter and then look to Archer who is bringing over the plate, "And him."

"Shut up."

I settle in beside her, letting my eyes slip shit as she eats, just content to be here.

"When was the last time you slept?"

"Well?" I ask without opening my eyes, "I don't know."

"Go to sleep, I'll wake you soon."

"No, I'm not sleeping." I murmur through a yawn.

"I don't think you have a choice." Holland murmurs, and I grunt, feeling sleep pull me into its embrace and I let it, sinking into it.

My sleep is interrupted with a ring, the sharp noise cutting through the peace and I grunt, turning slightly before forcing my eyes open.

Archer holds my phone in his hand, holding it out to me.

"It's an unknown number." He says and I furrow my brows, unsure of how anyone even got my number. Andy had it under lock and key.

Taking my phone from his hand, I swipe to decline. Sitting up and standing from the bed, stretching.

The phone start ringing again and I lift it up, looking at the same number calling.

"Maybe you should pick it up." Holland says.

"I don't know the number."

She shrugs, "You don't know who it is either unless you pick it up." Narrowing my eyes at her cheeky answer, I swipe to answer, lifting the phone to my ear and walking further away from the two people pretending they're not listening in.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Lilac." Sebs voice grunts out, and I blink in shock.

"Se-" I cut off, seeing Holland watching me and not even trying to disguise it.

"Yes." I say instead, turning the volume down so they can't overhear.

"I found him." Sebastian says, sounding strained.

Looking up, I reach for the door, exiting the room and leaving the two nosy lovers to themselves.

"What? Where?"

"In a warehouse district." He mutters.

"Why are you whispering? What's wrong?"

"He knows I'm here."

"What happened, are you hurt?"

He rattles off the address and I blink, storing it in memory.

"Sebastian, are you hurt?"

"Don't come alone." He mutters, "he's not alone. Romeo-" he cuts off with a cough, the sound wet and throaty.

"Sebastian. Are. You. Hurt?" I repeat, beginning to pace.

"Just." He sucks in a breath. "Promise me you won't come alone."

"I-"

"I want you to know it was real. Everything that happened between us." He says quickly, as if he needs to get the words out before he can't anymore. "It was real."

"Sebastian, just wait for me, okay?"

"I need to tell you I lo-"

"How bout you tell me when I find you?" I cut him off, my heart beating too fast and hard to hear anything over the sound of his laboured breathing and my own beating heart.

I rush down the stria's, hardly noticing the patrons or my cousins as I leave, finding my car quickly, thanking past me for leaving weapons in my car.

I jam the keys in the ignition, twisting it to a start and cursing when it takes a minute.

"Now is not the time for you to stop." I mutter at the car, slamming a hand against the wheel.

The car jumps into a start and curse, quickly putting the car into drive and getting in the road.

I put my phone on Bluetooth, my heart paining with every inhale and exhale I can hear from my phone.

"Sebastian?" I say, "Just wait for me, okay?" I switch lanes, pushing my foot on the accelerator. "Don't move."

"I can't." He hisses out, grunting with the effort.

"I said, don't move." I snap, fingers tightening on the wheel.

"They're looking for me. I won't be able to fight them."

"Are you hidden?"

He doesn't answer and I grind my teeth.

"John! Are you hidden?"

"Yes." He hisses out.

"Stay hidden. I'm on my way."

"Alone?"

"I won't be alone." I say, listening to the way his breathing changes.

"Seb?" I mutter, glancing down quickly at my phone. "Sebastian?" I ask again when he doesn't answer and I curse, knowing he's unconscious.

"Fuck." I hiss, pushing harder on the accelerator.
