This Generation is not Doomed
Many people think that the 21st century is a time period full of technology addicted idiots. They believe that just because inventions like the cell phone and social media have been mainstreamed, the youth are doomed to become worthless contributors to society. The biggest target to this claim is that this generation does not care to read anymore. People believe that reading has become a lost art and is the blame behind book stores such as Borders closing. Technology has made us lazy and mindless.
That is completely far from the truth. There have never been more readers before in any generation. We just express it in a different way. Social media has allowed us to write our own stories online, on forums such as Watt Pad. Devices such as The Kindle Fire are used in place of psychical books with the same content inside. To the adults believing this generation is doomed because we are uneducated lazy bums, do a bit of research before stating such a huge claim. We just do the reading in a different kind of way.
With this in mind, why not celebrate the vast number of readers out there by exposing them to classic literature. The ten reviews that follow are from books labeled as classics for a multitude of reasons. It does not matter if online reviewers hate it, or how old the novel is. All that is needed to qualify is the classic label by a vast majority of readers. Even with the book as a beloved classic, I will not be afraid to trend of possible controversial ground by giving one a bad review. Honesty is what matters here as well as the exposure.
With that in mind, let us go on a journey through just a few of the classic literature out there.
