three.

when it was finally time for their lunch break, yoongi let out a relieved sigh, leaning back on his seat. nearly half of his class proceeded to walk out of the classroom, save for kim namjoon, kim seokjin, jung hoseok and jeon jeongguk.

yoongi watched as namjoon stood and waved for seokjin to come over to him. and yoongi stared as seokjin did walk over, the normally smug feel in his smile, hands in his pockets as he stood in front of namjoon.

"namjoon." he greeted.

"seokjin." namjoon said back, voice distant.

"let's go?"

namjoon looked over at yoongi. "see you later at lunch, noona. i gotta go to the student council room with jin hyung."

there goes my chances of getting a friend, he thought, but nevertheless nodded understandingly, giving namjoon a small smile. the latter shot one back at him, before walking towards the classroom door. seokjin followed, but not before giving yoongi a glance, a charming smile to go along with it, before he walked out after namjoon.

once they were out of sight, yoongi rolled his eyes as his hand reached into his pocket for his vibrating phone.

bored expression plastered on his face, he stared at the messages.

MOM:
how's your first day so far?

YOU:
spectacular.

yoongi let out a small huff.

but then he glanced up, only to see jung hoseok standing in front of his desk, a grin wide on his lips. ah, the crybaby, as namjoon referred to. though he seemed so smiley... yoongi assumed that he often cried behind closed doors.

yoongi sat up straight, keeping his phone back in the small pocket of his uniform. he stared at hosoek blankly. "uh... hello there." he greeted.

"hi!" hoseok exclaimed. "i'm hoseok."

yoongi nodded. "yunmi. but call me yoonji."

"i know," hoseok told him, before turning back towards jeongguk, who was by the doorway, his stare focused on the two. "yah! jungkookie, you jealous that i can talk to her easily?" he smirked.

jeongguk glanced between the two, letting out a small tch before fully walking out of their sight.

yoongi stared after the guy. "what was that about?" he asked, voice breaking a bit. he covered it up with a cough, hoping that hoseok wouldn't take mind in the manly tone found for a second there.

hoseok stared for a bit, before giving him a smile. "oh, nothing. don't mind that boy." he reassured, "you're one day into this place and he's already got a crush on you."

"what."

hoseok nodded. "he may seem like he doesn't care about people, but oh, trust me. he does. but just specific people, i suppose, since he rejects girls like it's nothing... must mean you're special, then."

yoongi raised a brow. "and if i don't want to be special?" he questioned.

hoseok shrugged. "you should be thankful, really. things like this don't come by every often. when the whole student body finds out about jeongguk's developing crush, they'll either be quietly jealous of you or they'll start to devise a plan on how to murder you and where to hide your body."

"...what."

"yep," hoseok sighed, but then smiled at yoongi. "wanna head to the cafeteria?"

yoongi rolled his eyes. "do i have a choice?" he said as dragged himself up, crossing his arms at hoseok. "lead the way."

as they stepped into the hallway, surprisingly already flooded with whispers at the sight of min yunmi, hoseok laughed. "you know, i would bring you back some food to save you from the first-day-rumors. but since it's a buffet and all... sorry, noona."

"it's fine." yoongi sighed. "let's go. the sooner we get it over with, the better, right?"

hoseok took a glance around them, sending small, glares towards some of the whispering students, immediately silencing them. yoongi stared at him with wide eyes, the younger of the two smiling as he told yoongi to follow him.

yoongi looked around as he walked behind the male. everyone had shameful looks on their faces, some even sending sheepish glances at yoongi's way.

just how much power does class 7b have over the students?

ㅡ ㅡ ㅡ

right when yoongi set foot into the cafeteria, each class' table erupted into heaps of silent gossip, some stares in the form of either daggers, curiosity or annoyance.

what's she doing with jung hoseok?

hey, they were alone back at the classroon, right? could it be...? (...no way!)

ugh. i don't like her.

i think she's pretty.

there's something... odd about her.

i hope she lays off of taehyung oppa.

if she touches kim seokjin, she'll be dead in a week.

...she's kinda hot...

jeongguk oppa looks so good today... ugh.

did you see kim seokjin and kim namjoon walk together earlier? what are they up to?

ugh. when jimin oppa smiles, i can't help but smile a bit.

don't you guys think kim namjoon's pretty cute? (what? no...) wait, why?! he's too handsome!

yoongi groaned behind hoseok, the latter letting out a chuckle as he lead yoongi towards the buffet.

"what are you taking?" hoseok had already grabbed a tray for both of them, his own filled with a few items already. "let me guess. a salad?"

yoongi made a face. "uh? no. why would i take a salad?"

"oh." hoseok blinked. "sorry for stereotyping you?" he quickly said, "i just... every girl in this school usually takes a salad and it's just normal for me to assume. i'm truly sorry, i really am, andㅡ"

yoongi waved it off, grabbing anything but a goddamn salad, shortly thanking one of the men behind the buffet table for giving him a nice amount of food.

"honestly, though." yoongi shook his head disappointingly. "do i look like someone who wants to starve to death? i mean, salads are good, there's nothing wrong with eating them, obviously. but... just not my type, really."

hoseok laughed. "okay, okay. come on, i'll show you to our class table."

the whispers never ceased as they made their way towards their table. if only yoongi could reply to the harsh comments thrown at his way, he would. but maybe raising his voice would ruin his cover up.

finally arriving at their table, min yoongi concludes that maybe this wasn't such a good idea... prestigious school with great education, sure, but was the awkwardness worth it?

yoongi took a seat in between hoseok and jimin, placing his tray on the circular shaped table's surface. he took a glance. taehyung, instead of eating, was reading a bookㅡ one that was assigned to them during literature. jeongguk was typing away on his phone, as well as seokjin. namjoon was eating, though kept staring into space. jimin greeted yoongi with a smile, the latter giving him a small smile as well.

"guys, yoonji's here." jimin stated.

namjoon looked up and gave yoongi a grin. "hey, noona. how's your first day so far?"

yoongi hummed, then shrugged. "fine, i guess? i mean, everyone seems to be sending me death glares, not to mention the whispers, but i'm good. i'm ready for the death threats tomorrow."

jimin gasped at that. "seriously?" he frowned. "people, i swear..." he sighed in disappointment.

"don't worry," yoongi waved it off, "they don't really bother me."

hoseok looked impressed. "i'm sure they'll stop soon, though. if any of them do end up threatening you, though, just tell us, noona."

yoongi nodded, proceeding to eat his food. jeongguk, taehyung and seokjin haven't spoken up yet during this whole thing, though he guesses that they're just busy with their own stuff to take notice of him. something he's kinda thankful for, in all honesty. he's been getting too much attention, and it's a relief that he's not being noticed by the supposedly main attractions of his class.

oh, god. but when yoongi looks up, seokjin's staring right at him, a faint hint of a smirk across his lips as he examined the new girl.

yoongi coughed, looking over at jimin. "uh, hey, is there a music class or something?"

jimin nodded with his usual smile. "oh, yeah. you can choose your main thing though, since the music class isn't really highlighted in this school."

"choose? what do you mean?" yoongi asked.

"um. well, first off, what do you like in the whole music thing?"

yoongi found this a bit... interesting, his curiosity sparking up. "i play the piano. but i think i'm more into music production."

"ah, they've got that."

yoongi's eyes widened. "really?" maybe yoongi shouldn't have been as excited as he was, but considering that he wasn't even supposed to be in bighit academy, and he should've been at a place that focused on music more instead, then maybe this was an acceptable reaction.

jimin nodded. "really!"

"you can have up to two topics, if i can recall." hoseok piped in.

yoongi glanced down at his lap, trying to contain his excitement. "that'sㅡ"

"do you like singing?"

the three of them turned towards seokjin, who looked at yoongi interestingly, the question coming out with the same tone. at first, yoongi just stared blankly at the male. but then he simply shook his head.

"not really. i like listening to some artists who sing, of course, but i'm more into the rapping."

a shocked expression flashed through seokjin's face for a moment, but was then replaced by a calmed one. "i see." he said.

jeongguk spoke up, "seriously?" he said it in disbelief, looking at yoongi ridiculously.

yoongi frowned. "something wrong with that?"

with a roll of the eyes, jeongguk looked at his phone once more, as he muttered, "whatever..."

hoseok hummed. "hey, do you know agust d, by any chance?"

yoongi flinched at that.

okay, so maybe there was something he'd forgotten to mention.

before his sister passed away, right? well, he had this thing going on where he took the name of agust d and he'd post his rapping, music and such online. he was pretty well known, with the articles and all... though he didn't think of himself as great. but people thought that his originals were pretty good, as well as the tunes, and that's probably the reason why he got the opportunity to attend that one place that focused on music production more. that explains why he was pretty disappointed by the time his mother told him to attend bighit. but then again, this whole agust d thingㅡ not so much of a big deal. he's got his hands occupied by bighit academy, so he'll be taking a break. it wouldn't make much of a difference, though, as he only posts stuff every month or so.

so that's that...

now, how was he supposed to respond to this?"

"oh, uh, yeah." he replied and tried not to let his voice break. "he's... okay."

"okay?" hoseok repeated. "i think he's beyond okay."

"ah, he's pretty cool," jimin nodded, "not gonna lie..."

"jimin here really liked tony montana from the mixtape."

"hoseok," jimin warned.

hoseok let out a chuckle, "he memorized the whole thing. what a nerd."

"hoseok," jimin whined, "it's a good song, okay." he frowned.

yoongi raised a brow. well, okay... "really?"

"not you too, noona!" jimin yelled.

"no, no," yoongi shook his head, "it's okay. i memorized it too." he laughed, at least tried to. because i fucking wrote it. he thought. a part of him still wondered how and why these boys haven't realized the possibility of yoongi being a boyㅡ really, he wasn't even trying on the voice part. his mother told him that he genuinely looked like a beautiful girl, though. that's something.

jimin gaped at him. "wait, whㅡ"

their conversation was interrupted by a new presence at their table. everyone turned to the two girls who stood behind taehyung, blurting out an 'excuse me...?'

taehyung turned to look, a slight frown already visible on his features as he adjusted his black rimmed glasses, taking a look at the girl in front of the other, from top to bottom.

yoongi gulped. he glanced between the book that taehyung had in his grasp a second ago, then at the girl who was shifting nervously, her best friend quietly encouraging her to speak up. "he gets a lot of girls falling for him too. doesn't really care, though. grades first, as always." namjoon had said, regarding kim taehyung.

"what?" taehyung said, in such a tone where he sounded like he was already annoyed.

the girl flinched. "i was just wondering ifㅡ if i could maybe talk to you in private aboutㅡ"

"no."

the girl's eyes widened, fear written all over her face. "oh, um, well, that'sㅡ that's okay, maybe after school we canㅡ"

"i'm not saying no to talking with you," taehyung stated firmly, "i'm saying no to your confession."

"whㅡwhat?"

taehyung shook his head. "i don't want to date anyone, nor give them a chance," he clarified, "no thank you."

the girl's eyes were looking teary at this point, and right when she was about to turn around and go, yoongi decided to barge in on the conversation.

"why are you being such an asshole?"

taehyung looked up, directly at yoongi, clearly confused and shocked. even the others turned to look at him, looking surprised at his sudden remarks. "what?"

yoongi laughed. "sorry. i was just thinking that maybe you could've been less harsh with her. i mean, come on, she has feelings too."

the girl waved her hands, "min yunmi-ssi, you don't have toㅡ"

"it'sㅡ" yoongi stopped himself. it's min yoongi. he almost said. "ㅡno, it's fine. this guy's being rude to you, i can't just sit here."

"i'm rejecting her because i simply don't feel the same," taehyung frowned. "i don't feel like getting to know her, either. what do you expect me to do?"

"i don't know," yoongi hummed somewhat mockingly, "maybe you should fㅡ freaking apologize to her properly? the least you could do is show her you're sorry for not being interested. again, she still has feelings, and just because you're unaffected by it, doesn't mean she isn't. don't be such an insensitive diㅡ person."

their area gathered an alarming amount of attention, some girls sending glares towards yoongi, and some just watching the scene unfold.

taehyung didn't quite know how to respond. "you don't understand."

"the only thing i don't understand is why someone has the capability to be so rude like that." yoongi said, getting up, ready to leave. "seriously. if i were blind, i'd still notice." he huffed, and proceeded to storm out of the cafeteria. his voice didn't break, but he's sure that his actions were... quite questionable.

jimin looked after him, before turning to glare at taehyung. "taehyung!" he scolded.

as yoongi walked through the halls with all eyes on his now neutral expression, he wondered.

did i just do that?

WHERE IS THIS STORY GOING?!?!?
