Hero Work Studies
Mikoto was helping himself get packed for today. At school, Present Mic was going to be talking about their second internships.
Luckily, he had the chance to talk to his Dad before the weekend Holiday.
Tohru: Do you got everything prepared, Mikoto?
Mikoto: Yep Dad. I got everything packed. Pencils, paper, notebooks, etc.
Tohru: I can't believe how much the year has passed since you got at U.A and look at you, you already have your temporary license.
Mikoto: Yeah. Times flies when you're being a hero. I can't even imagine.
Tohru: So...speaking of which...
Tohru looks up at his son from the couch with a small smile.
Tohru: What do you want for your birthday, kiddo?
Mikoto: Hmmm...I want something nice. So surprise me! I like surprises!
Tohru: Mm-Hmm! Just like I do.
Like father, Like son they say...
...Though most people believe he takes after his Mom.
"Bark!"
Mikoto looks down to see a small huskie pup running from the down the stairs straight towards his feet.
Mikoto laughed at the puppy starting running around him panting along the way.
Mikoto picked up the dog as it started licking his cheek. He begin to the pet the dog and stroke his fur which delighted the small animal.
Mikoto: Hey there Hiroyuki.
Hiroyuki was a small black and white huskie dog that his father adopted recently to keep him company since his mother was always away on business. Her timely schedule from being off work was usually on weekends or Holidays (if she has the time).
His father adopted Hiroyuki some time after Mikoto was moved into the Class 1-C dorms.
Hiroyuki: Bark!
Mikoto: Don't cause Dad too much trouble, alright?
Hiroyuki: Woof!
Mikoto sat the dog down and said goodbye to his father. Tohru wished his son good luck in the second internships as the boy walked out of the mansion and was about to make his way over to U.A.
However, his father met him halfway through the door.
Tohru: Oh Mikoto!
Mikoto: Yeah Dad...?
Tohru: Since the Second Internships are coming up, I was wondering if you.....uh...ya know what, nevermind...
Mikoto: Dad?
There look like something his Dad wanted to tell him but decided not too. So the man shook his head and look back at his son.
Tohru: Don't worry about it kiddo. Just do what you need to do. It's your choice. Have fun and be careful!
Mikoto: Uh. Okay...See ya Dad.
Tohru waved goodbye to him as Mikoto once again, took off for U.A.
Mikoto: Here I go~!
A new arc for the heroes had started.
-Plus Ultra-
Present Mic: Wassup! Little Listeners! Before it be time for the Christmas Vacation for all of you. You must do the second Internships that you were all assigned to do with your senpais in Class 3-C.
Jack: Oh man...I wonder how this internship is gonna go...?
Samuel: IKR. Because this time we can't apply for the same people we did last time.
Luna: Like OMG! The pressure is real!
Destiny: Nah Fam. It's not that. The struggle is real!
Eito: Pfft. I don't know about you guys but I'm going for Eraserhead.
Jack: Idiot! Aizawa-Sensei is the guy you applied for last time!
Eito: Oh...right...I forget...
Zoe: Are you sure you forget or were you too busy going gaga over Kenji.
Eito: Hehehehehe. Guilty as charged.
Eitosquad: *Whispers* OMFG...
Kenji: *Sighs* So hopeless...
Haru: I-It's still hard to believe he's your boyfriend.
Kenji: If he's keeps that up, he's might make me regret it.
Mikoto: What about you guys? Do you know what agency your going too this time?
Sylvia: Tch. Anywhere that doesn't involve Endeavor.
Souta: *Rolls his eyes at her*
Mikoto: Ah. I don't blame you.
Haru: I...think I'll try out Mr. Blaster...I heard he's been in the Buster Union Agency for a while...So I'm going to try it out.
Kenji: I'm going with the number two Pro-Hero Hawks.
Sylvia: Ooooh! Good choice! I heard he's a pretty cool hero.
Mikoto: Yeah. He's pretty cool...
Souta: I heard he used to be the Number Three Pro-Hero until....All Might retired...
Mikoto:....
Yin:.....
Sylvia: Don't remind us...
Haru: Now wasn't a good time, Souta-kun.
Kenji: Yeah...
Souta: Alright....
Present Mic: Alright Class! Along with your senpais in Class 3-C. You will also be employed by some other heroes in U.A. So for that, you will be learning about the Hero Work Studies.
Mikoto raised his hand.
Mikoto: What are the hero work studies, sir?
Before Present Mic can answer that. Someone beat him to it.
Riku: The Hero Work Studies consists of being mentored by where hero work experience can be gained-?! OOF!
Present Mic threw a eraser at his feeling irritated as Riku fell to the ground.
Present Mic: Can you go through one day without being a know-it-all?!
Riku: Sorry Sir....-K.O-
Present Mic: As I was saying...The Hero Work Studies is a program that allows the students to be employed by hero offices throughout the school year. They are also oriented off-campus activities. To which are considered very important activities for the formation of future heroes, since they are necessary to obtain real experience, and it helps the participants to improve their combat skills and the use of their quirks.
Sylvia: Whoa...
Haru: What an helpful base. With this...this could help some of us improve in our quirks.
Samuel: Yeah...I'm been looking for an agency to help mines out.
Akira: S-Same...I want to do more as a Task(?) Person. Just like my hero name.
Mikoto: Ah...So that's the reason why for that name...It still confused me on why you chosen that name.
Some muttered in agreement.
Hein: I have a question. Since these are similar to the weeklong Hero Agency Internships but with notable differences as the Work Studies which are closer to a real hero experience. What are those experience are they talking about?
Present Mic: During the internships, students were treated as guests at the agencies and simply present to observe and take notes. During the Work-Study, students are treated as sidekicks and in some cases, as Pro-Heroes.
Class 1-C: Whoa....
Hein: Good answer....
Present Mic: Under the guidance of the Pros, the students are allowed to uses their Quirks in emergency situations, and they can be dispatched to disaster areas to aid the relief effort and join the fights aganist villains.
Souta: Tch. Even though most of us already have the experience of fighting villains.
Mio: Why do you have to go and remind us?!!!
Luna: I still can't get over what happened the past few months.
Souta: Get over it.
Oka: *Annoyed* You get over it!
Souta: Hmph.
Luna: Jerk!
Present Mic: As I was saying, students must work in their respective agencies for at least a month, and they will be remunerated for their work.
Mikoto: (So we're going to be working with our senpais within this course.)
Present Mic: In this activity, any student of the hero's course can participate regardless of the year, provided they have obtained their Provisional Hero Licenses. First year students have a harder time since they still have a lot of classes, so they will also rack up a lot of absences, needing supplementary classes to be able to continue on this path at the same level as their classmates.
Kelly: How does that benefit from the connection between this and the sports festival?
Present Mic: Ah. That's a good question. You, the students will use their networking connections from the Sports Festival to secure their work-studies. Due to it isn’t part of a class, but an activity done at discretion of the student, those who weren’t scouted at the sport festival would have a hard time lining one up to begin with.
Yin:.....
Mikoto: It'll be alright, Yin. No one blames you.
Yin: Okay...
Lilac: Please....Don't worry about it.
Yin: I'm trying my best not too...
Present Mic: Originally, individual agencies recruited on their own, but there were many complications with trying to get U.A. students to join and opted for this method.
Mikoto: I guess that explains your complicated requests into coming here Kieran-kun.
Kieran rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.
Kieran: Hehe...I humbly apologize for my late absence...But I do hope to catch up with all of you.
Jack: Yeah! Just you wait! I can't to see you outside in the battlefield!
Luna: Me too! I can't wait to see how that quirk works.
Destiny: You go boy! Work hard and we'll be waiting to train with you as well!
Samuel: *Nods Happily*
Kieran: Heh heh. Thank you all. You really are a nice class.
Luna: We try to be...though some of us are a bit...hardheaded....
Souta:.....Why are you all looking at me? Stop it.
Present Mic: Now...Without further ado Little Listeners, it's time for Nedzu's Big Speech and after that the Lifestyle Counselor encouraging words. Class Dismissed.
Maria: I wonder what the encouraging words will they give us, nya?
-OMAKE-
???: BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK! BARK!
