U.A vs Shiketsu

Check out this artwork of Cry! It looks amazing! I will also note that my artist wishes to be unnamed for this. We decided to go with a more modern concept on his hero costume since it's based off of a fighter pilots outfit. So this is like hero costume mark 2 for Cry, with the all black jacket and fur around his neck. If you think it's boring, just think of what Kaminari wears, or even Kaibara because he just wears a windbreaker jacket. The burned in hand-print on his face looks great, the diamond arm looks amazing, and the purple veins look clean af. Thank you so much to my artist! Now we'll be getting into some filler that I've been planning for a while. This may be a long one so sit back and relax. Enjoy!

At this time, December was coming to and end and the air was getting much colder. With the arrival of more snow, training sessions were becoming much harder. Not just in class but also my private sessions with Mr. Kan. He claims that training in a cold environment will help me become more resilient to weather change. If he thinks it's best than i'm not gonna complain. Monoma on the other hand... was a different story. Since he wanted to learn how to wield my quirk when he copies is, he had to join in on my private training sessions and learn to resist the cold as well. He complained quite a bit but I wasn't surprised by that at all. And, he was actually surprising me with how much he was progressing when using my quirk. He was able to figure out his own style of attacking with it, since he can't use the quirk the same way I can. He's unable to make anything physically from his body since he's %100 human. But he was able to work around that. As for me, I was still trying to perfect my new special move. I had the basics for it down already but it required a lot more focus than I thought it would. It could literally shatter with ease if I wasn't in total control. Plus, I could only use it for about 20 seconds currently, so i'm not quite there yet. As for classes, i'm not behind anymore, so at least there's hope in some things. And as for today, we didn't know what was going on but we were told that there was an urgent message for all students in the hero course.

When everyone arrived in class, we all sat in our desks and waited patiently for Mr. Kan to tell us the news. He was currently leaning against his desk with his arms crossed and his head down, looking like he was thinking about something. He then stopped and looked around the room, staring at each of us individually. "I'm sure most of you have gotten wind that there is some huge news regarding the hero course at U.A. Well, i'm here to tell you what all is going on. We've been challenged." Mr. Kan explained as we all started to wonder what he was referring to. "What kind of challenge is it, sir?" Shoda asked him. "As you all should know, U.A is the top ranking hero school in the East of Japan. And only one other school in the country can hold a candle to us in terms of hero education. That would be the school to the West, Shiketsu High. We've been challenged to determine which school truly reigns on top." Mr. Kan explained as we all got a little excited. "We've established that this challenge will be decided by way of battles. Every battle won will earn that school one point. The school with the most amount of points by the end will be victorious." Mr. Kan explained as I became a little curious. "How many battles will there be, sir?" I asked him. "There will be ten battles in total. Both schools will select students that are currently enrolled in their first or second year in the hero course. However, we at U.A have decided to only send in our first years. It'll be great experience for you all whether you get to battle or not." Mr. Kan said as everyone cheered. "So, who's going to represent U.A then?" Tsubaraba asked. "We figured that we would keep it fair between the two first year hero classes so we decided that 5 students from each class would represent." Mr. Kan said as everyone grew curious now. "So who's going to fight from our class, then?" Tokage asked. "Every staff member from the hero course came together and we believe we made the best decisions in terms of our combatants. For class A, Aizawa has chosen Bakugou, Todoroki, Kaminari, Asui, and Kirishima. And as for class B, I have made my decision on who will compete. The five who will battle will be Komori, Tetsutetsu, Monoma, Cry, and Tsunotori. Each of you will have one week to prepare and hone your skills for this event. This school rivals U.A, and we can expect them to have equal or possibly even greater skills than our own. And on top of that, some of you may have to fight second year students, so be ready for anything and everything." Mr. Kan explained as I looked to all the other students he called out. Komori and Tsunotori looked a little nervous, and i'll admit, I was a tad nervous too. Tetsutetsu seemed to be right into it though, as he was someone who loved to fight. And as for Monoma, he looked very intrigued. I'm sure he was thinking of ways to combat his future opponent. "And lastly, given the scale of this event, you can bet it'll be just as big as the U.A sports festival. It's not often that these two schools meet but when they do, almost the entire world wants to know what's going on. So, it's been agreed upon that this event will be televised all over the world. I'm sure this will make some of you very nervous, but just remember your training and learn to ignore all the outside factors. If you can do that, then i'm sure you'll all gain victory for U.A." Mr. Kan said as we all gave him a "Yes sir!" We then went on with our regular scheduled class session.

-Time Skip: One week-

With our week to prep now over, it was finally time to face off against Shiketsu High. Both of U.A's first year hero classes were all headed to Tokyo where this whole event was being held. We would be fighting in the stadium which will hold some of the events at the future 2020 Olympics here in Japan. Everyone who was fighting was pretty excited to say the least. Me and Monoma trained together all week, sharpening our skills and reaction time. We both felt as ready as we could be for today, and we could tell everyone else was too. When we arrived, we all walked through the main gates and into the stadium which was already packed with spectators. "Woah! Even though i'm not fighting, this is a little intimidating." Midoriya said as I chuckled a bit. "I can imagine what you'd be like if you did have to fight. You'd be shaking in your boots." I said as I gave him a light punch on the arm. The ten students from each school who were chosen were guided to their own waiting rooms. Everyone else was sent into the V.I.P sections of the stands. The ten of us who were fighting quickly changed into our hero costumes. Since everyone competing is in a hero course, it was alright for us to wear our hero costumes, unlike the sports festival since they may have given us an advantage against the other programs. I had my costume upgraded(or downgraded if you'd like to think that) into a more traditional and modern look. It now looked like a more traditional fighter pilot jacket, with army regulation pants to go with it. I still had my goggles with me though. And the right sleeve was torn off, revealing my diamond arm to everyone. This new suit may look ordinary but it grants heat resistance, and is very lightweight, granting me lots of mobility.

"Everyone line up! We'd like to give you a few words before this whole thing begins." Mr. Kan said as all ten of us lined up in front of him and Aizawa. "You ten were chosen because you bring something unique to the table. Whether it be overwhelming power and speed..." Aizawa began to explain as he looked to Bakugou. "...Or cunning tactics and strategy..." Aizawa said, now looking at me and Todoroki. "...Every single one of you is here because you've earned it. You are some of the best that U.A has to offer, even though you're all still first years. We expect all of you to do your absolute best out there. Don't disappoint us." Aizawa explained as i'm sure everyone grew nervous from that comment. "Whether you're confident in your skills or not, there is only one thing we're expecting from you. Win. U.A has always been seen as just a step ahead of Shiketsu, and we wish to keep it that way. We're counting on you all to uphold that reputation. We wish you all luck." Mr. Kan said as he and Aizawa left the ten of us to take in their comments. "Talk about a gloomy pep talk." Komori said to me as I agreed with her. "Yeah, I know. It's nice and all that they said we earned our spots here, but why'd they have to go and make it sound so intimidating?" I said as I let out a small chuckle. "Ah, it's not too bad. All we have to do is win, right? If we can secure 6 points, then we'll win automatically." Tetsutetsu said, cracking his knuckles. "It won't be that simple. Shiketsu will have incredibly tough opponents who we have no idea about. Where as they have seen some of our abilities already from the sports festival and provisional license exams. We're at a major disadvantage here." Todoroki explained as I agreed with him. "Who cares if they have some stupid advantage! I'll blow away anyone that I have to fight!" Bakugou yelled as I just rolled my eyes and ignored him. "Save the rage for the fights, Bakugou. We'll term 'em apart out there." Kirishima said as he patted Bakugou's shoulder. Bakugou quickly shrugged him off and then started yelling at Kirishima. "Just let him be, guys. I'm sure he's ready to go and fight. Ribbit." Asui said as we all started to laugh. "I guess this is one time I can say class A is my ally. Just this one time, I will say I am looking forward to working with all of you. I wish you all luck in your individual matches." Monoma said to all the class A students really surprised me. It's just weird hearing him say that because he's always been so competitive between our two classes and their achievements.

-Time Skip: 30 Minutes-

"Alright everybody! It's time to kick off this stellar event!" Present Mic announced. Naturally, it made sense that he would be the announcer and M.C for this whole thing. The crowd was going wild because they knew what was about to go down. "Let's quickly go over the rules for our competitors before they start to brawl! Each match will consist of a 30-minute timer! A winner will be decided by knockout or if one competitor is knocked out of the arena boundaries! Furthermore, if the time runs out, a series of judges will determine a winner based on these categories: Damage, strategy, control, and aggression! And the school with the most points by the end of all ten matches will be crowned as the victor!" Present Mic explained as the crowd got even more hyped. The ten of us were all getting excited as well, as we all just wanted to go out there and show what we're made of. "Now let's get this party started! Every round, the combatants will be randomly chosen! So let's see who's going to be up first!" Present Mic said as screens around the stadium began to rotate through pictures of all the students fighting. The tv in our waiting room was doing the same. The fighter for Shiketsu stopped first, revealing the first opponent. And it was one that I've encountered before. "First up, representing Shiketsu High, it's Kashi Tombaka! Going by the hero name: "Drift," Tombaka wields his mighty levitation quirk with deadly accuracy." Present Mic explained as the fighter for U.A stopped rotating. "And first up for the U.A team... It's Kinoko Komori! Choosing the hero name: "SheMage," Komori uses the deadly power of her Mushroom quirk to overwhelm each of her opponents. Who will be on top in this fight, let's find out!" Present Mic said as Komori went to leave the waiting room. "Wish me luck, guys! I won't let you down!" She said as nearly all of us gave her a thumbs up. Bakugou of course did not, but that wasn't too surprising.

When she left, we watched her walk into the stadium and onto the battlefield. It was just the same as the sports festival, as we were fighting on a plain, flat arena. Tombaka walked onto the arena as well and he stared down Komori. "I have a score to settle with some of you U.A students. I had hoped to fight another one of you, but it seems you'll have to do." We heard Tombaka say as Komori started giggling at him. "What's so funny?" Tombaka asked her, starting to get irritated. "Oh, it's nothing. I just remember a classmate of mine, his name is Cry. He told me he laid the smack down on you and a friend of yours. So if he can take you down, I shouldn't have any problems." Komori said which made me start laughing. "So you've fought this person before?" Todoroki asked me. "Yeah, during the first stage of the provisional licensing exam. He was a bit of a challenge to say the least but I was able to knock him and another Shiketsu student out of the exam. I wonder if the other girl is part of this as well?" I said to myself as I looked back to the tv screen. "We've waited long enough, people! It's time to officially begin the first round between Kinoko Komori of U.A, and Kashi Tombaka of Shiketsu High. Which school will reign supreme!? Let's find out, right now!" Present Mic shouted as the first battle of this event began.
