Talents Needed

Decided to skip over the remedial student arc since all of class B passed the PLE. We'll move right on to the cultural fest arc. It won;t be as action packed as the manga made it as all the action is given to Midoriya. I'll do my best to come up with class B's project for the festival though. Enjoy!

-Time Skip: 1 week-

Before any of us knew it, the second semester a rolled around. The last memories of summer had faded away and the temperature difference became way more drastic. Our work study group accompanied by All Might, Aizawa and my mother, all went to Sir Nighteye's funeral. And, at the end of the conversations between UA and the hero offices, our work studies were postponed. Nighteye's offices were taken over by his former sidekick Centipeder. And as for Eri, we were given word that she had finally regained consciousness, though her psychological state is still unstable. Since it's still unclear whether she might lose control again, Aizawa told us we weren't allowed to have any face-to-face time. As for her quirk, it was discovered that it originates from the horn that's in her head. It grew in size when she unleashed her power but now that she's back in control, it has shrunk to the size of a small lump now. I'm sure i'm not the only one who wishes to see her soon. Classes were getting much harder for me, I was beginning to fall behind since I also had to focus on using my new quirk ability. But in the one week that Mr. Kan trained me, I had a huge grasp on how to properly use it. I even created a new ultimate move. I call it "O2 Discharge." What I do is create a small pocket space, about 20 feet in diameter. I then remove all of the oxygen from the space until the enemy faints from the lack of air. I was progressing quickly but now it was time to focus more on school.

We all sat in our homeroom, preparing ourselves for whatever Mr. Kan was going to say. He began his speech, "It's time to talk about an upcoming event. It's the UA cultural festival." He explained which made everyone cheer. "Yes! We get to do something normal school-like now! Let's decide what we're gonna do!" Everyone began saying. Tetsutetsu quieted everyone when he asked a question to Mr. Kan. "Is it really okay for us to be so carefree at this point and time? Especially during this "Proliferation of villains" period!" He asked. Mr. Kan answered him and said "That's an excellent point. However, UA doesn't revolve around the hero department. If the athletic sports festival is sponsored by the hero department, then the cultural festival is in the domain of the other three departments here. The level of exposure isn't comparable, but to them, it's an exciting festival. Moreover, the truth of the matter is that there's a considerable number of students who are stressed out from the daily activities of the hero department and its new boarding system. But this year will be different from past years. Part of the staff will be cut and the cultural festival will take place inside the school. I've already explained that we're not the main drivers of this event, but as a rule, each class has to pick one program. And today we'll be deciding that. I'll give everyone here a half an hour to decide on what it is we'll be doing. Good luck." Mr. Kan said as he left the classroom.

Kendo took to the front of the classroom and began to draw on the blackboard. "Alright, everyone can give out one idea for what we should do. Then we'll eliminate some and narrow down our choices. So let's hear some options people!" She said as everyone began to spurt out ideas. The minutes passed by and we were soon down to three ideas. Our only options were a play which was Monoma's idea, a skating rink which was my idea, and laser tag which was Yanagi's idea. Everyone now took a vote on which we should do. When voting was complete, Kendo counted them up. "It was closer than we thought, in 3rd with 5 votes, we have Yanagi's laser tag plan. Next, in 2nd place with 7 votes we have Cry's idea for a skating rink. And our program for this cultural festival, we'll be putting on a play! Thanks for the great idea Monoma!" Kendo said as he laughed. "Of course it's a great idea, it was mine after all." He said. Kendo then asked him what the play should be about. "If it's your great idea, then you should be the one to pick what the play's about. Don't you think?" Monoma quickly answered her and said "Glad you asked, i've been thinking of doing this for a while. Our play will be "Romeo, Juliet and the Prisoner of Azkaban: The Return of the Kings." A pretty good idea if I do say so myself." I then jumped in and asked him, "Isn't that just a combination of Romeo and Juliet, Harry Potter, and Lord of the rings? Shouldn't we do something original?" "What're you talking about, it's totally original. No one's ever done this before. Besides it's my idea, I get to decide on what we do." Monoma said to me. I just stayed quiet and just accepted any crazy idea he put together.

That night, we all sat in the common room of our dorm. It was now our goal to assign everyone their jobs, whether it be as a character or stage worker. "As the best actor here, I nominate myself for the role of Romeo, anyone object?" Monoma asked. No one spoke up though so the role went to him. "So who should be out Juliet then?" Kendo asked as she looked to the rest of the girls. She then spoke out and said "It can't be me. I can help set everything up but i've been asked to participate in the beauty competition. I've got too much on my board. But if it's a juliet we need, I think Kodai is our best option. She does have some experience with musical theatre after all." Kendo said which surprised me. "I didn't know that, I guess she's full of surprises." I thought to myself. Kodai agreed the role and soon, we assigned everyone who was going to star in the play their new roles. Tetsutetsu was to ply the villain, Awase and Shoda were to be Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, Shiozaki was to be the fairy that guides our heroes on their journey. Bondo was set to be a monstrous creature, guarding Kodai, while Shishida and Tsunotori were going to be gryphons. And lastly, Tokage and Rin were going to be dark wizards that the heroes encounter.

When the roles were set in stone, we moved on the stage management. The eight of us who remained would be working in the backgrounds, doing lighting work, and props. I was placed in charge of visual effects since my quirk allowed me to construct basically anything I pleased. It would really help us out a lot and also please the crowd. "Alright! Now let's think of some props for this thing!" Rin yelled out. Him and Monoma came to me to ask me what I could make. "We're thinking swords obviously, but, this may be a stretch, but can you make magic wands? Just enough so that they make like sparks or small explosion effects." Monoma asked as I focused on making them. The swords were no problem as they appeared in front of us. The wands took a bit longer but sure enough they appeared. Rin took one outside to test it. He was waving it around, looking a bit like a child, but he then raised it straight up into the air and a firework shot out of the wand. "This is awesome!" He yelled as Monoma gave me a pat on the back. "We're sure to look way better than class A with these effects. You've outdone yourself Cry, and you've only just started." Monoma said to as we both went back inside to think of more ideas for our play.

-Time Skip: 2 Days-

I was sitting in class, everyone was just dismissed and had left. I was just getting some of my notebooks together, preparing to leave when Mr. Kan stopped me. "Cry I have important news for you. It seems Eri has finally spoken." He explained which made me curious like Hado. "Really!? What did she say!? Is she alright!?" I asked him but he quickly shut me up. "Calm down. She wants to see you, along with Midoriya and Mirio. This is the first time she's said anything since being hospitalized. However, that's not much of a concern at this point. Given her current energy level, the probability of another rampage is practically zero. But even if you do go, please try not to remind her of any of the events that occurred. It could trigger something in her and cause her to go out of control." Mr. Kan explained as I nodded. "I'll be sure to be extra careful sir. You can count on me." I said as I exited the classroom.

The three of us met at the hospital and stood just outside of Eri's room. "Are we all ready?" Mirio asked us. "Here we go." I said as Mirio opened the door.

We all walked in at once, and we saw Eri sitting in her bed. She still looked frightened, just like when we found her. We all slowly approached her bed, giving off big smiles to try and cheer her up. "We're sorry we couldn't see you earlier Eri." Midoriya said while Mirio jumped in to speak. He was holding something in his hands and reached it out to Eri. "Here Eri, we brought you an assortment of fruits! If you like them, then eat up! Do you have a favourite fruit? Can I guess? It's peaches isn't it? You are kinda peachy after all!" Mirio said while laughing. Eri took the basket of fruit and gave her answer to him quietly. "It's apples" "Just like I thought!" Mirio said. "No you didn't!" I thought to myself as Eri continued to speak to us. "This whole time, even when I was here in bed with my fever, I-I was thinking that, even while I was being saved, I didn't know your names." She said while pointing to me and Midoriya. She then continued, "I only knew LeMillion, and I wanted to know yours." LeMillion was Mirio's hero name that he gave himself. Midoriya answered first and said "It's Izuku Midoriya, and my hero name is Deku. Deku is shorter so it'll be easier for you to remember that. Just call me Deku, Eri." He explained as she nodded and focused on me now. I gave her my answer and revealed my hero name, "My name is Tenshonoma Cryshiki. My new hero name is called "Shifter." If t's easier for you, you can just call me Cry. Ok Eri?" I asked as she nodded again. "LeMillion, Deku, and Cry. And...that man with the glasses...everyone got hurt because of me..." She began to say. We knew she meant Sir Nighteye but we couldn't tell her what happened to him in case if it triggered her powers. Eri continued speaking, "I'm sorry you all had to experience such painful things all because of me. It's because of me LeMillion, that you lost your powers..." She said as she started to cry. Mirio went and put his hand on her head, saying "Nobody thinks you caused them painful things, Eri. Everyone's thinking something more like this! "It's great that Eri is safe!" It's no use apologizing to people that aren't there. Let's take it easy. Everyone fought because they wanted to see your smiling face!" He explained. Eri then attempted to smile, even using her hands to form one but she just couldn't find the strength to do it. "I'm sorry, how do you smile again?" She asked us. A saddening feeling grew in my chest, knowing that this girl was never taught to smile. She went through such pain, and even though she was safe, Chisaki's influence was still in effect on her. We hadn't saved her at all yet.

As long as she doesn't know, what it truly means to be happy, what it is to smile...A surprise! Midoriya then turned around and opened up the door to the room. He was asking Aizawa, who was standing outside, a question. "Mr. Aizawa, can't Eri go out for even a single day?" Aizawa then responded and said "It's probably not impossible, however, how should I put it? Where she'll be transferred to..." He began to say before Midoriya cut him off. "Then...since it will all be indoors, and much safer, can Eri come to the cultural festival!?" He asked Aizawa. Me and Mirio both thought it was a great idea since it was all indoors this time. There would be little risk of anything happening to the festival. "Can she please come Mr. Aizawa?" Me and Mirio said to him. He didn't give us an answer as he closed the door. He probably was going to think about it. Eri grew curious and asked "Cultural festival?" Mirio jumped in and explained what it was. "There's this thing called a "cultural festival!" It's an event put on by our school. The students set up different events and foods for other students to enjoy...and apples! I know how much you love apples! They might even have candy apples!" Mirio explained. I could see that Eri had begun to drool at the thought of a candy apple. "Well Eri, what do you think?" I asked her. She slowly came around and gave us an answer. "I-I've been thinking, ever since I was being saved... about the people who saved me... LeMillion and everyone else, I want to get to know them more." Mirio stepped in again, "I'll tell you about us until you can;t take it anymore! Let's just hope we get the go-ahead from Aizawa and the principal! I'm currently on suspension from my school since I no longer have my powers. So I can be your personalized bodyguard while you're there Eri. I'll keep you safe if anything happens!" Mirio explained.

As we continued to talk it over with Eri, Aizawa came back into the room. "Do you have an answer for us Mr. Aizawa?" Midoriya asked him. "Yes, I do." He said as he glared at all three of us. "He then continued, "As I was speaking with UA's principal, I was also listening in to what you were all saying. I then relayed your suggestions to him. The principal will allow Eri to enter UA and have fun at the cultural festival. But Mirio, you must be with her at all times. You can't let her out of your sight, got it?" Aizawa asked as Mirio nodded. It was a time to be happy. A new goal was laid down for us, to make Eri smile. Both me and Midoriya had told her what our classes were doing, and she seemed curious about both. She seemed to revlve around class A's dance and music performance more than my class's idea, but I wasn't turning it into a competition. All I wanted to do, was truly save her, and see her smile for the first time.
