1-A/1-B Alliance!
Here it is, the first of possibly many filler chapters to come. As I stated in the previous chapter, the events of this part will take place between the combat training and sports festival chapters. This is entirely new territory for me as I have nothing to go off of. I hope it urns out alright if you decide to read this. If not, please skip ahead to the next chapter, where I will be starting the training camp arc. Enjoy!
It was 3 days before the sports festival was set to begin. A special class had been put into order and six of the students from my class were chosen to attend it. I, obviously was one of them. The students who were chosen were myself, Kendo, Tetsutetsu, Shiozaki(Quirk: Vines), Honenuki(Quirk: Softening), and Tokage(Quirk: Lizard Tail Cut). We sat in our desks and waited as Mr. Kan explained what we will be doing today. "For today's special session, you six were chosen. We'll be doing crime scene investigations today with some of the students in class 1-A. There is six of them as well. You'll all be paired up with one of the members from the other class. This'll help with your teamwork skills and possibly, build a relationship with some of your fellow hero course classmates." He explained to us as we all nodded our heads. "Yes sir." We all said to him. "Good, now get into your hero costumes and meet me down at battlegrounds beta. You have fifteen minutes. I shouldn't have to remind you all not to be late." He said as he exited the classroom.
We all met at the entrance to battlegrounds beta. The students from class 1-A were there as well. The six chosen from that class were Midoriya, Uraraka, Yaoyorozu, Jiro, Tokoyami, and Asui. We all stood together as we waited for our homeroom teachers to explain how this exercise will work. 1-A's teacher spoke first, he was a very gloomy looking man who spoke very softly. "Today you'll all be working in pairs in different investigative scenarios. You'll each have the opportunity to improve your mental capacity through these exercises." He said as Mr. Kan stepped in. "That's right, each pair will complete some sort of scenario, the first group to complete their mission will receive an award. Possibly info on the sports festival. So all of you try your hardest." he said as we all responded. "Yes sir."
The pairs were made and I was grouped up with Jiro. We would be working on investigating a kidnapping crime scene. "Now that all of you know who you're working with and what your trying to complete, there is one more thing I must tell you. All of your missions will involve combat at some stage. Like the USJ, there will be stunt double prepared to combat you, and yes, you may use your quirks to your extent on them. Just don't go overboard. I wish you all luck, now get to your locations." Mr. Kan said as we all left to start our assignments.
Me and Jiro arrived at our destination, it was just a bedroom that looked all torn up. "They sure made this look convincing." Jiro said to me. "You got that right. I don't know where to start. I guess we should inspect for clues first." I said as we both spread out in the room. She searched through some of the drawers in the room while I checked under the bed. While looking underneath, I found a business card. "Nemuri Kayama, Hero agency." It had written on it with a picture of Midnight, not in her costume. I called over Jiro and showed it to her. "Think this is a clue to what happened?" I asked her. "Maybe, Midnight could be the victim here. Let's find some more clues though before we make any conclusions." She said as we continued our search. Jiro searched through a closet at the back of the bedroom. Inside she found writing on the wall that looked like someone scratched it in. "Cry get over here. I found something." She said as I made my way over. I took a peek inside and saw the writing on the wall. It said, "Revenge, child lost, Personal." But what could it mean. "It seems Midnight was possibly doing a rescue mission but was unable to save someones child. I guess that person now wanted revenge and kidnapped Midnight." I said to Jiro as she agreed with me. After a few more minutes of searching, I saw that there was a phone on the floor in one of the corners. I picked it up, then in the corner of my, I spotted an answering machine. It was flashing so there was a message still on it. I clicked to play the message and listened to what it would say. "Hello miss Kayama, you don't know me but I know you very well. I'm sure you've forgotten what happened by now, i'kk be sure to remind you when I "pay a visit" later. We'll be going out to your agency so we can discuss what you did. I'll be seeing you shortly." The message ended and I called Jiro over. "The victim is at the hero agency! The message on this answering machine told me everything. Midnight didn't listen to this message so she didn't know someone was coming to take her. We have to get to that agency right now!" I said as she nodded her head and we exited the bedroom. We knew that we couldn't leave the battlegrounds so it made sense that a replica building of Midnight's agency was somewhere in the area. "It'll be easier to find it if we fly. Grab onto my arm, i'll carry you over." I said to Jiro as I reached out my hand to her. She grabbed it and I sprouted my wings and took off. We searched through the area, looking for some place that looked like a hero agency. After about a minute of searching, we came across a tall building with the words "Nemuri Kayama" on it. "That must be the place." Jiro said to me. I took us closer to the ground, near the side of a nearby building so we wouldn't be spotted. We landed and slowly made our way to the entrance. It was a three-story building, they were most likely keeping Midnight on the top floor. We made our way to the entrance and leaned against a wall there. Jiro crouched down and used one of the earphone jacks in her ears. She injected it onto the wall we were leaning on and she listened to see if anyone was there. "I think I only hear one person. They're just walking around." She said as she took out her jack from the wall. "Ok, we're going in" I said as I slowly opened the front door. Jiro was correct, there was only one person there. Luckily for us he had his back turned to we were able to hide pretty easily. I crouched behind a desk while Jiro did the same on the other side of the room. I purposely shoved a keyboard on the ground to draw the mans attention over to me. He noticed the sound it made and began walking toward me. I quickly generated 2500 psi into my left arm and prepared to knock him out. He looked over the desk to see what caused the keyboard to fall on the ground. Before he could react I delivered and uppercut to his jaw. I sent him backwards and Jiro caught the man before he landed on the ground. We then tied his hands and feet up with some leftover electrical cords and made our way up to the second floor.
While each pair was completing their assignments, Mr. Kan and Mr. Aizawa(class 1-A's homeroom teacher) were viewing us with the areas security system. "They all seem to be working great with each other. Everyone's gotten to the stage where they come in contact with villains. Let's see how they'll solve these problems?" Aizawa said curiously. "Yes, they will have to think quickly in order to successfully finish their mission. From what i've seen, only two groups are moving through their mission as if it were a real life crime. That would be the pair consisting of Kendo and Yaoyoroza, and the group consisting of Cry and Jiro. They're ahead of the rest of the groups. I wonder who'll be able to finish first?" Mr. Kan said to himself.
Me and Jiro made our way to the second floor of the agency building and stopped right before we finished climbing the stairs. I peeked over to see if anyone else was on guard. I looked for a few seconds but saw that the floor was unguarded. We looked to each other then headed toward the next set of stairs. We began climbing and just before we got to the top, we stopped as we saw there was a door. Jiro took the lead and inserted one of her jacks into the door, trying to listen to what was happening inside. She listened for a minute then pulled back her jack and told me the situation. "I think there's only three people in there. That's all I could hear but there's a chance there could be more. Are you ready?" She asked me. "As ready as i'll ever be." I said to her as I generated 10,000 psi into my left arm.
I smashed open the door, breaking it off of its hinges. The door was sent flying and hit a nearby guard, flattening him onto the ground. Me and Jiro entered the room and saw four other men, all standing around Midnight. She was sitting in a chair at the centre of the room. Her wrists tied to the arms of the chair so she couldn't escape or activate her quirk. She looked beaten as I could see bruises on her face. "Let her go!" I yelled to the kidnappers. "Damn it! How'd these heroes figure out we were here!?" One of the men said. One of the men rushed us, holding a metal baseball bat and attempting to hit Jiro with it. My arm was still filled with psi so I reached out and stopped all momentum of the bat as I caught it mid-swing. Jiro looked to me and smiled but soon got serious and injected one of her jacks into the mans head. I think she overloaded his head with sound since he grabbed his ears, almost like there was a loud noise. The man couldn't take it anymore and he fainted. Only three remained and the next two attacked us. Me and Jiro split up to take out one each. I was less lucky though as my opponent revealed that he had a quirk. His hand turned to sand and he attempted to engulf me in sand. I had to think quick so I attempted to counter with my plasma ability. I created plasma on both of my arms and rushed into the oncoming sand. I jabbed at the sand and thankfully, my plasma was hot enough to turn the sand to glass. I slowly closed the distance on the guard and eventually, I struck his chest with one of my fists, still covered in plasma. I burned through his jacket and shirt and sent him across the room. There were only two left, I looked over to see how Jiro was doing with her opponent. I saw she was struggling to defeat him. He was wielding a katana and was attempting to slash at her. Jiro was able to dodge out of the way. I knew she was in trouble so I quickly rushed over and tried to help. Jiro fell over and had nowhere to run, she was cornered. The guard was about to swipe at her with his katana again but as he began to swing, I stepped in front of him. I quickly generated 60,000 psi into my hands and caught the sword between my hands. "What!? How could you stop my swing and be totally fine!?" The kidnapper asked me. I created more plasma on me hands and melted through his sword. "That won't matter now because you're beaten!" I said as I punched him in his chest and sent him into a nearby desk. I turned around and looked to Jiro who was still on the ground. I reached out and offered to help her up. "Are you alright Jiro?" I asked as she blushed and responded to me. "Y-Yes, i'm fine."
We both walked to the centre of the room and met eyes with the last kidnapper. "It's over, release Midnight and come quietly! It'll be easier for you and everyone else if you just give up!" Jiro yelled to the man. He had other plans however, as he pulled out a knife and stood next to Midnight, holding the knife to her neck. "I don't think so! This bitch was unable to save my daughter a few years ago! Now i'm returning the favor and killing her right here, right now!" He said as he lifted his arm, preparing to stab Midnight. "Jiro now!" I yelled as she injected her earphone jacks into the sockets in her boots. "Sorry about this Midnight!" she yelled before a loud sound echoed through the room. Jiro's quirk, aided by her hero costume let's her amplify the sounds of her heart beat and she can use them to make pulses of sound. The man stopped and lifted both of his hands to his head. He dropped the knife and I went in to finish him off. I generated 2500 psi into my left fist and stuck him in the face. I forced my fist downward and he crashed into the floor face first. I had knocked him out, and I turned my attention to Midnight. I began to untie her and Jiro came over to help too. "Nice going you two. That's what I call a "by the books" rescue operation." Midnight said to us. "Please, don't congratulate me, I wouldn't have been able to know how many people were here without Jiro's help." I said as I chuckled a bit. Jiro blushed again and smiled as she also commented. "Yeah but you were the one to take out the guards." "It was both of you who finished this. Your excellent teamwork lead you to victory today. You both should be very proud." Midnight said as she shook both of our heads. "Now then, let's see how you two did, shall we?" She said as she pulled out a switch from her back pocket. She hit it and it notified Mr. Aizawa and Mr. Kan that a group had finished.
"The first pair has finished. Let's see which one of us was right Kan." Aizawa said. "Let's see, it was the pair that dealt with the kidnapping investigation. That pair included... Cry and Jiro. Damn, I guess you win." Aizawa said as Mr. Kan began to smile. "I told you my star student wouldn't let me down. It was closer than I thought though, it looks like Yaoyoroza and Kendo just completed their murder investigation." He said as another signal went off. "You've got some pretty talented students Kan, would have you been doing to them?" Aizawa asked. "Breaking them. And you Aizawa? I see some of yours are pretty talented in their own right." Mr. Kan asked in return. "I didn't have much to do with it. The attack on USJ caused them to learn from the experience. They've learned not the hesitate anymore." Aizawa explained. "Let's call them back. Then we can give them their reward." Mr. Kan told Aizawa.
The twelve students had all finished their investigations. Me and Jiro knew we had finished first and we were pretty happy with ourselves. Mr. Kan began to speak, "Congratulations to all of you. You were all able to complete your missions in near record times. However, we did say that only the pair who finished first would receive a reward. That pair today was Cry and Jiro!" Mr. Kan yelled out as Jiro jumped for joy. She hugged me in excitement and all the other students looked to us. They all had curious faces and they made me blush. Jiro looked up to me, seeing me blushing which made her blush as well. She then let me go. "All of you should be proud of what you've done today. You're all dismissed except for Cry and Jiro." Aizawa said as everyone left the room. "Now then, for your rewards. let's see here, I think we'll give you info on one of the purposes on the sports festival." Aizawa said to us. "Yes the sports festival is used for entertainment, but for the students in the hero course, it's their chance to be scouted by other pro heroes. The scouting comes into effect after the sports festival ends where a special assignment will be given out to each student. We're not going to tell you what that is yet but we will do this... We'll send your names out and have it be easier for you two to be scouted. Sound good?" Mr. Kan asked us. "Yes sir!" We both said. "Good, you two are dismissed, good luck with the rest of your preparations for the festival." Aizawa said as we both left.
We headed back to the locker rooms to change out of our hero costumes. On our way, I asked Jiro what she thought of me. "What do you mean by that Cry?" She asked me. I responded to her, "Well, you've been looking at me strangely ever since I stopped the guy who was attacking you with the katana. I don't know, maybe it's just my imagination." I said out loud. She then stopped walking, and I stopped shortly after. Without any words being said, she grabbed my collar and kissed me. I probably had the most stunned look I've ever had as I wasn't expecting this to happen. She stopped and walked over to the door to her change room. "Thanks for saving me, fly boy!" She said as she entered the room. I couldn't bring myself to say anything. I just stood there, not knowing what had just happened. This was a new feeling for me. I walked into my locker room, changed out of my costume, but the only thing I could think of the whole time was "DO I HAVE A GIRLFIREND!?" This thought stayed in my head for a few days as I kept questioning myself. But I knew this would have to wait, as the sports festival was just days away.
