Chapter 38: Zeref's Offer
"WHAT!?" Abigail and I exclaimed. "You can't be serious..." I said. Wendy nodded sadly. "So he wants me, huh?" I said. "You are bot giving yourself up." Abigail said, attaching herself to my arm. "Ya. And if you die, I won't have a father anymore." Wendy said, crying silent tears. I looked at my soon to be family. "Then all three of us together." I said, bringing both of them into a hug. Glacier sniffed and Grandina began to sob. I looked at Grandina and handed her my suit. "Don't worry. We'll return for those. Keep them safe." I said with a smile. Diana then walked into the room.
"So you were told?" she asked us. I nodded. "And all three of us are gonna protect our friends." Abigail sais. Diana let a tear lose and opened a portal to my front porch. "Then go. Save your friends. They will be in your basement so they won't disturb you." she said. I turned to Glacier and said "Stay here with Diana and Grandina. They will keep you safe." "Right Uncle Robert!" Glacier said, saluting me like a soldier. Glacier calls me her uncle and Abigail her aunt. I chuckled. I looked at my soon-to-be-wife and my adopted daughter. "Shall we tell Zeref to piss off?" I asked.
"Let's teach him a lesson!" Abigail said, grabbing her ring and necklace from her pocket and slipping it on. I lifted my shirt and unwrapped my scarf from my abdomen. I then wrapped it around my neck. We walked through the open portal and landed on my porch. Standing on the driveway was Zeref, with a smug look on his face, and Lilith, the bitch who always shows up. "So you came." Zeref said. "Not the way I would have thought, but why not." Lilith said with a shrug of her shoulders. "Why are you two here?" I growled. "We just wanted to wish you a congratulations! We heard about the wedding." Lilith giggled.
"Let me guess... a little birdy told you this? Or was it a snake?" I sneered. Zeref just chuckled and shook his head. "A snake!" Lilith admitted. "So Apophis told you..." Abigail mumbled. "Now before we go, I have a little proposition for you." Zeref said. "And?" Wendy said, folding her arms over her chest. "You join us, and we don't destroy this world." Lilith said a bit to happy. "Then you'll attack the Dragon World instead, sooo... no." I growled. Zeref sighed, disappointedly and Lilith pouted. "I figured as much. Fine. We'll leave. Goodbye Robert, Abigail, and Wendy. Until we meet again." Zeref said.
"Bye bye!" Lilith said with a wave of her hand. Is it just me, or did she become an air head? Both the evil commanders started to sink into their shadows. Once they were gone, I opened the front door and nearly got sliced to death by a sword. "Robert!? You're back! Thank goodness, we all thought Zeref had you." Erza said, moving her sword away from the front of my face. "Ya, well, I wanted to come back on happier terms, not 'I'm Zeref and I want you to join me!' terms." I said. "What?" Erza said. "Get the others so we can talk..." Abigail said, face palming.

"That's what he was here for!? A congratulations and a question!?" Natsu growled. "Natsu, Zeref is starting to piss me off..." I said. "Couldn't he have sent a card or something? Not come here and make your mother go on full lock down?" Brittany asked. "And bringing the bitch along made me even angrier at him." Abigail growled. Everyone was in my living room. Glacier was there, listening. She tucked a loose strand of her white hair behind her ear. "I think we need a Dragon Slayer meeting with us and Glacier." Wendy said. Everyone who wasn't a Dragon Slayer nodded and left the room.
When they left, Abigail put up a Silence Barrier. "What is Zeref planning...." Lucy wondered. "He is an evil wizard. He even turned Acnologia into a creature of darkness! He used to have a much brighter form..." Glacier said. "Why does he want my aid, when he knows I would never give it to him?" I asked. "Maybe he is just tricking you." Wendy said. "No. He probably has bigger plans." Natsu said. "That I do." said a new voice. I shot up out of my seat and looked around. A projection of Zeref appeared right in my living room. "Zeref!" I growled.
"Hello Robert." Zeref said with a smile. He looked at Natsu and said "Brother." Natsu growled. "What?" Glacier said. "What's this? Well well well... who knew a dragon was living with you Robert." Zeref said, looking at the little white haired girl. "Why are you here?" Abigail asked. Wendy glared at Zeref. "To make my offer again." he asked with a smile. "What do you think my answer is?" I growled, advancing on him. He sighed. "Oh well. That was your second chance." he said. "I don't care. 'Cause that's the only answer I'll ever give you." I said, getting right up in his face.
He became startled. I was just up in his face growling like an animal. "Leave." I growled, though my voice sounded deeper. I started to feel my skin gain scales. My canine teeth grew longer as well. "Fine. I will. Goodbye." Zeref said, before his projection went away. We were all silent. I was taking deep breaths, trying to calm my anger. It wasn't working. I clenched my fist and darkness encased my body. I felt someone hold onto my arm. As I un-clenched my fist, I was dropped off infront of a grave. I looked at the person who had my arm, expecting it to be Abigail, to find Wendy looking at me.
She was looking around. She was shivering a bit because we still had our clothes from the Dragon World on. "Where are we?" she asked, wrapping her arms around her small form. I looked back at the grave. "My grandmother's grave." I said. I could tell that her eyes landed on me. "This is Vera's grave?" she asked. I nodded. At the grave were fresh daisies and roses. The top of the grave was covered in snow. Even though her spirit lives inside her masks that she gave us, it's still gives me a bit of peace coming here. I whipped the snow off the top of the grave. I closed my eyes and said a small prayer in my head.
I reopened my eyes and looked at Wendy. "We should head back. My anger is gone now." I said. Wendy nodded her head, still shivering. I walked over to her and she gripped my arm. I clenched my fist and darkness covered us. When I un-clenched my fist, it dumped us off in my living room where the others worrying about us. When they saw us, Abigail smacked my face, while her's was in tears. "What did I say about running off!?" she cried. I looked at her. She started punched my chest lightly as she cried. I wrapped my arms around her, hesitantly. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to worry you." I said.
"Ya, well you did! You idiot! You know Zeref's after you, yet you ran off! What if he caught you! What then?" her voice ending in a whisper. "Again, I'm sorry." I said, hugging her tighter. "And I'll talk to you later Wendy about running off as well." Abigail said. Wendy nodded. "You two need some privacy." Glacier said, pushing Lucy, Natsu, and Wendy oit the room. They four went downstairs with the others. "Wanna take a nap?" I asked. Abigail nodded. We went to my room and put on our pajamas. We slipped into bed and I brought her closer. We both fell asleep in an instant.
