Chapter 31: The Power of The Masks

One day before Christmas Day

"Get back here you!" Sharon yelled. "Like I would let you get me!" I yelled back. I was in the park with Sharon, Abbey, Kim, Matthew, Amanda, and Victoria. Currently, Matthew was sharpening a sword, Kimberly was using a tree as a target, Amanda and Abbey were talking, and Sharon and I were flicking each other. I was running around while Sharon chased me. Not how I pictured today would go, but the little devil decided to flick my forehead the minute we saw each other and I got her back. "Can you two shut up for once..." Matthew sighed. "Says the guy sharpening a sword with a stone." I countered.

Though saying that made me stop and Sharon got me. "Yes!" she said before running away. I chased after her, but she ran under the bridge of the jungle gym and evaded me. "Not gonna work Sharon." Victoria said. I melted into my shadow and looked out of her's. "Where did he go!?" Sharon yelled. I'm kinda glad the sun isn't covered by clouds today. I stepped out of the shadows using her's and flicked her forehead. "Ow!" she yelled in pain. "Bye!" I said, before melting into the shadow again and coming out of Abigail's. Abigail sighed. "You two gotta stop this. It's really annoying." she said.

"Does someone feel like I'm not giving them enough attention?" I asked in a cute voice. Abigail blushed hard and said "N-No! N-Not at all!" She crossed her arms and looked away to prove her point. "How about a rematch!" I said. That got her attention. Abigail has been obsessed with battling nowadays. "Hmm... That'll forgive you! I want to try this thing out anyways." she said pointing to her necklace. Though before I could say anything, Sharon flicked my forehead and extended her hand. "Truce?" she said with a grin. "You little Strega!" I said with a glare. "Robert. You slipped into Italian." Kim said with a sigh. "And that's very rude to call someone that!" Victoria said, slapping the back of my head.

"A little help here, Matt?" I asked. He shook his head no. "Siete tutti traditori..." I said. "You did it again babe." Abigail said. "And no we aren't traitors. We just see what you're doing pointless." Amanda said. I gripped Sharon's extended hand and said "Truce." She smiled and I glared at her. We walked to an open area and got ready. Abigail and I stood across from each other while the others sat in the snow off to the side. We fished our amulets out of our jackets and touched our masks. We both sighed as a rush of energy flowed into us. "That wasn't strange at all..." Kim mumbled. Are you two ready?, said my grandmother's voice through our mental link. Yup!, we said at the same time. Then begin!, she replied.

"Dark Dragon Dark Ball." I said, extending my hand towards Abbey. Multiple dark spheres shot from my hand and at her. They were at least ten centimeters in diameter. "Was that all he got? This is gonna be a cake walk for Abigail." Sharon said. I smirked. Abigail snapped her fingers and a barrier went around her. When the spheres touched the barrier, they exploded and expanded to a one meter diameter sphere. A gush of wind flew from the impact. Snow went flying and hit our friends with it. "You were saying?" I asked Sharon. "Nothing! Never mind!" she squeaked. Abigail raised her hand and said "Light Dagger." A dagger made of light was formed in her hands. Though she was really sweating. "Seems like I need to get on equal ground. Dark Greatsword." I said, keeping my hand up. A greatsword made of darkness was formed, but I lost alot of power because of it.

We need more power., we told my grandmother. Here you go., she said. A rush of magic entered us and we weren't tired anymore. "This could come in handy." I said. Abigail nodded. "How did they regain all that magic they lost?" Amanda questioned. I rushed my girlfriend with my greatsword in my hands while she rushed me with her dagger. She swiped the air infront of her multiple times and unleashed multiple little white shock waves at me. I stood my ground and blocked the shots with my sword. "Nice try darling." I said, causing her to blush. I swiped my sword at her and a large shock wave was sent flying at her. She dodged just in time to avoid getting hit. The shock wave went all the way to the fence to Altona forest and created a new entrance.

"Hmm... needs more speed." I observed. "Needs more speed!? That's what you're worried about!?" Victoria yelled. I nodded. Abigail looked at the destruction I made. She sighed. "I give." she said. I grinned and touched my amulet. This tells my grandmother we're done with the amulets. I let go of my sword as Abigail let go of her dagger. Each one faded away. I walked towards my girlfriend who was panting with her hands on her knees and her head down. "You okay Angel?" I asked. "I'm okay Grim Reaper." she said with a smile.

"Where did that power come from?" Victoria asked. I glanced at Abigail who glanced back. We opened our mouths and said "Secret!" "What!? Why!?" Sharon whined. "I think we need to head back, don't you think so Abigail?" I asked, ignoring the whining girl. "Sure. Let's head back home." she said. Then a gun shot rang through out the sky and a bullet went into the snow infront of me. "Shit..." I mumbled. "So Drake came..." Sharon said. "What gave that away?" Matthew mocked. "Fire Whip." Sharon said, making a whip of flames. A sound of a sword being pulled out from a sheath could be heard as well. I sniffed the air and the smell of wood was going through the air. "Come on out Drake." I growled loudly.

The sound of someone stepping on snow could be heard and Drake, in all silver and a silver mask, came from behind a tree. "Robert. You and your fucking nose ruins everything." Drake said, raising a gun at Kim and firing. A bullet sunk into her arm and she stiffened. "W-What the hell!?" she said. "Paralysis Bullet. It gives the target paralysis." Drake said. I growled, but it was much deeper. I blinked and I could tell that my eyes were dragon like. "Nice eyes Robert. That blue colour surrounding the black slit that makes you look like you're part snake is really amusing." Drake snickered. "Earth God Earthquake!" Victoria yelled, slamming her hands in the snow. The ground began to shake and cracks appeared in the snow.

Drake shot the ground and the shaking stopped. "That bullet stops magic. Now-" he aimed at me. "Bang." he said, shooting the gun. A bullet sunk into my arm. It didn't hurt, but black lines started to appear on my arm. "Bye!" Drake said, sinking into shadow. Abigail and I stared at the lines in fear. "Dragons Bane." I mumbled. "No no no no..." Abigail said. "What's wrong?" Victoria asked. I looked at our friends and they saw the fear in my eyes. "V, Amanda. Do you have any healing spells?" I asked. Amanda nodded. "Heal him before he dies!" Abigail cried. Amanda nodded and held my arm. "Fire Goddess Holy Fire." she said.

White flames surrounded my arm. It didn't hurt. I stared at the black lines as they started to fade away. I let out a breathe when the lines were gone. "Thank God..." I said. "Well, that's two God Slayers that can heal us." Abigail said. "Couldn't you or Wendy heal this?" Victoria and Kim asked. Kim was able to move again. Abigail shook her head. "Dragons Bane is a poison that is harmful to a dragon's immune system, but deadly to Dragon Slayers." I said. "No dragon can heal it. Only gods can." Abigail said, finishing my explanation. "Well, your lucky that you know two God Slayers that can heal you." Amanda said. "Ya. You and my cousin." I said. "Sorry I can't help with the healing." Victoria said. "It's fine. Though, I think I know someone else who can help." Abigail said, pulling a magazine out of her pocket.

It had the words Sorcerer's Weekly on the front. Mira was on the cover in only a bikini. I covered my eyes and said "What is this gonna do to help our situation!?" "Are you trying to see if your boyfriend is faithful?" Matthew said. I looked at him and he was looking away with a blush on his face. I heard the flipping of paper and Sharon squealed in joy. I took a chance and looked at what the girls were looking at. A picture of Lamia Scale's A-Team was on the cover. "Umm... why are we looking at this?" I asked. "Because Lamia Scale has a God Slayer with healing abilities." Abigail explained. "You mean Sherria?" I asked. Abigail nodded.

"Will they listen?" Amanda asked. I shrugged. "We'll have to find out. I'll talk to Wendy." I said.
