Chapter 10: Shadowhunters
As I slept, I dreamed. As I dreamed, I prophesied. I found myself walk through the school. In a hallway, I saw three teenage girls that looked normal. Other then the fact that the mist around them continued to shift and distort their figures. One minute, they were teenage girls laughing and talking away. The next they were mermaids with shells in their hair and glowing sea green eyes. Their voices sounded tempting and would make anyone sigh and listen to them. Sirens. That’s what they were. I continued forward. Down another hallway was a silver haired woman. She had on ragged clothing and her eyes were all black. Things moved and shifted in her eyes as if they were monsters. She was cackling and holding up a black cup. It had some red accents around it. Lilith... and the Infernal Cup! I moved on. Down the third hallway was Abigail and I in each other’s arms. On our shoulders were tattoos. On my right shoulder was a pale white halo. On her right shoulder was a black skull. I smiled and moved to the next hallway.
In that hallway was a boy and girl. While the boy had golden blonde hair and golden yellow eyes, the girl had flaming orange hair and grass green eyes. Both wore black clothing and holding deadly swords. Shadowhunters. More specifically, Clary and Jace. Another book series that I read is here. I ended up at a school chapel door. I looked around and saw students walking around, talking and laughing. I slowly entered the Chapel and was greeted by a blinding light. “Awaken...” said a soothing, calm voice. That’s when everything turned black and all I heard were the snores of Natsu and Gray. I also felt the soft rocking of a boat from under me. I slowly opened my eyes and was greeted by the night sky. I sat up and looked around. We were back on the boat heading towards Port Hargeon. “Ah. You’re awake.” Said a familiar voice. I turned around and saw Diana awake and smiling in my direction.
She wore her dress from before, but it was mended back together and looked untouched. Her hair was in a messy bun that still made her look regal. Her black eyes shone with amusement and my confused expressions. Wendy had her head on Diana’s lap, fast asleep. She looked adorable. “Milady. How are you?” I asked with a smile, bowing my head. Diana giggled and lifted Wendy off her lap and onto the deck. Diana then stood up and walked over to me, her high heels not even making a noise on the boat. “That is what I should be asking you, my General.” She replied, throwing in that little bit. I froze momentarily. “General?” I asked. She was about to answer when a hissing sound of a snake interrupted her and woke everyone up. “What’s going on?” Lucy asked, yawning and rubbing an eye. Green mist started to build onto the ship and the ship stopped moving. The water stilled and the mist got thicker and darker. A voice spoke through the mist. It sounded like Delphi and Rachel’s voices mixed.
“A Dragon Slayer shall gain a title,
For great power needed is vital,
To stop a demoness that runs rampant,
Though she will not be triumphant,
For the Hunters of Shadows are here,
And lose to those on a different tier,
For the General’s greatest enemy is near.”
My head was pounding and the green smoke was slowly wrapping around my body. "ARGH!" I screamed in pain, clutching my head. I heard them all call my name, but it was faded. The words of the prophecy were replaying in my head continuously, getting louder and louder and LOUDER! Visions were flashing before my eyes and with the replaying words of the prophecy, I heard malicious laughter and screams of terror. That's when everything just stopped and I had found myself in a camp. I looked down at myself and saw I was nothing but a wisp of me just floating around. I looked up and a breeze guided me to a cave. I entered it and found Rachel passed out on the floor and her eyes rolled to the back of her head. I tried my voice, but it didn’t work.
I heard someone running towards the entrance and ducked into a dark corner. "Rachel!" I heard a man's voice call. I looked at the direction of the voice and saw not a person, but a monster. More specifically, a centaur. It has the upper body of a muscular man, but the lower body of a horse. The guy had dark brown hair and brown eyes. He had a bow and quiver full of arrows over his shoulder and a sword was strapped to his torso. He was as tall as a horse as well. Beside him was a guy around 18. He was shirtless and had on swim trunks. He also was rather tall and lanky. He had a sun kissed tan and dark, messy hair. His eyes were what frightened me the most. They were a swirling color of sea-green. Though his eyes looked angry and the swirl of sea-green looked like a raging storm out at sea. Though what threw me off was that his eyes had bags under them from sleepless nights.
"C'mon Rachel! Wake up!" He yelled, rushing towards her and sitting down beside her unresponsive body. That's when the names clicked into place for the two in the room. Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon and Chiron, Teacher of Heroes. "Help Ms. Dare up, my boy. Place her on the bed." Chiron commanded. Percy nodded and picked Rachel up bridal style. He placed her on a bed in the corner of the cave. I felt my body slowly morph and look down at myself. Now I looked more like a ghostly half-dragon with a large wingspan and claws for hands. Scales layered my body and my eyes were tingling. I looked back up and watched Charon and Percy fret over Rachel who was now mumbling things. “Robert… Crown of Dragon’s… Governor of all things Related to Dragons… Titans… Giants… Primordials… gods…” she was mumbling. Puffs of green smoke would leave her mouth. Chiron’s tail began to flick around nervously, but his face remained hard. Percy looked confused.
“Dragon’s… Chiron is Rachel dreaming?” Percy asked, looking at Chiron. “I’m… not sure…” Chiron said. Percy’s eyes became hard and he glared at Chiron. “You’re not telling us something…” Percy inquired. Chiron flinched and turned to look away from Percy, only to look at my now half-dragon self. Chiron paled considerably and froze in his spot. I gave a low growl and slowly stepped out of the shadows. Percy finally saw me and paled too. And just like that, a breeze swept me away and I ended up at inside an abandoned church. “You seriously gonna do this alone?” I heard a guy say. I spun around and saw a girl with fiery red hair arguing with a blonde haired guy. “Yes Jace. It’s the only way to see what’s happening there.” The girl, Clary Fairchild said. Jace Herondale glred at her. “Then how are you gonna get there without a portal from the Institute?” he asked with a smug smirk.
“Well, you see, there is this Mundane route of transportation called an airplane that I already have a ticket for.” Clary fired back stubbornly with her own smirk, causing Jace’s to fall. “But-“ “Oh! And Simon will be coming along with me.” Clary replied, her green eyes held mischief. Jace’s golden eyes hardened. “You know what? Maybe the Toronto Institute may need my assistance training the other Shadowhunters.” Jace said, eyes hard. Clary smirked. That’s when a loud, feminine voice yelled “YOU’RE WHAT!?” “And that must be Simon telling Isabelle where we’re going.” Clary said. It was then a guy with brown hair ran out of a room and down some stairs. He had on glasses and his brown eyes held fear. “SIMON!” called the same voice that yelled earlier. A girl with long black hair appeared at the top of the staircase with a angry look. Her eyes were a light blue. Each one of them wore black clothing.
“You get back-“ she stopped speaking when she saw my ghostly form. I gave a low, menacing growl and everyone snapped their eyes at me. “What the hell…” Jace mumbled, pulling out a pale white sword. “That guy has… dragon wings…” Simon Lewis stated stumbling backwards. Isabelle Lightwood uncorked a whip from her wrist and shot it towards me. It went through me of course and she became even more spooked. “Careful who you attack, because they might fight back.” I growled out at them. That’s when the wind swept me away again and darkness overcame me. It felt like something was covering my eyes! Wait a minute… I slowly opened my eyes to a familiar scene. Selene was floating above my head again and smiling. “Safe travel?” she asked, floating away so I could sit up. I was in my bed and still in my clothes.
“ROBERT! YOU BETTER WAKE UP!” I heard the familiar yell of my mother call out. I chuckled and yelled back “I’m okay! Thanks for asking! And I’m coming down! Calm yourself!” I got up and went about my usual morning routine, but with Selene here and helping me do my hair for some reason. Though, I wasn’t complaining.
~~~~~~~Time Skip~~~~~~~
I entered the school ground alone to see a crowd at the front entrance. I made my way to the front of the crowd and saw Drake and Matthew glaring at each other. “What happened?” I asked the person next to me. It happened to be one of my greatest friends Bella. She had long brown hair in a high ponytail and hazel colored eyes. She wore the female version of the uniform. She gave me a small smile and let out a sigh. “Something about Drake being a lying traitor? I’m not sure.” Bella replied. I gave a long sigh and went up to middle of them. “What is going on here?” I asked, tired. “Move Robert. I need to get him.” Matthew growled. I glared at him and he glared at me. “Whatever… I don’t have time for this.” Drake called, walking away. Matthew just glared at him once more before walking away as well.
Everyone in the crowd went “Aww man! No fight!” and walked away. The only ones left were Bella and Sharon. “Nice job. Now I need to talk to you.” Both girls said, walking up to me. “Okay… what’s up?” I asked. Sharon looked around us while Bella stated “I saw a girl run into a living tree and a black Rottweiler with two heads chasing her.” Sharon then flicked her wrist and a lasso of flames was in her grip. “What’s happening to us?” Sharon asked. Before I could answer, my phone went off. I grabbed it out and saw that Lucy was calling me. “One second.” I told them answering the call. “Hey Lucy! What’s up?” I asked into the receiver. It was quiet on the other end and I grew confused. “Hello?” I called out. “Excuse me, but are you Robert Wieder?” asked a familiar voice of Clary Fairchild. I glared straight ahead of me and said “Speaking.” “You see. We need to have a chat. I have all your friends, so they can’t answer the phone right now… or at all really.” Clary replied. “If you so much as hurt them, I swear that you’ll have all of Fairy Tail after you.” I hissed at her. Sharon gasped audibly and I mentally slapped myself.
“Then you need to come and find us.” Clary replied, ending the call right after. I growled angrily and put my phone into my pocket. "Come on. To my locker." I growled. Both of the girls jumped, but followed me nonetheless. "I need one of you to text Abigail to meet me at my locker." I commanded. I heard one of the girls dig into their pocket for their cell as we made it to my locker. Just as I unlocked and began to open my locker, it exploded, sending me backwards into the other lockers. "ROBERT!" I heard Sharon and Bella call out. My head felt like I slammed it against a mountain and my vision was all fuzzy. I heard people rushing out of their classes in confusion. Everyone was talking and trying to grab my attention, but I could only watch as all the pictures of my friends and I on my locker burned. I watched as the photo of all my friends with Abigail and I in the front burned. The flames consumed the entire photo, turning it into a pile of ashes.
Anger started to consume me and I felt my k-9's begin to elongate into fangs and my teeth sharpen. "Grab him. We'll take him outside." I heard Matthew's voice say. I felt a two pairs of hands help me up. Though as someone touched my right wrist, I finally registered how much pain I was in. I took in loads of air through my nose, but didn’t scream, in fear of people seeing my Dragon teeth. We made it past hallways and to the exist of the school when I heard a soothing voice say "You're okay to scream now." "ARGH!!!" I yelled out in pain. "SHIT!" I heard Matthew say and saw his hand move away from my wrist. They placed me on the stones at the back of the school and began inspecting me. I saw Victoria, Bella, Abigail, Sharon, and Matthew all around me. I gave a toothy grin and said "Am I gonna make it? Will my looks ever-" I winced, but continued my sarcasm, "-The same?" Abigail slapped my forehead with a glare while everyone else laughed.
"He's fine, but those teeth are sharp." Matthew explained, grabbing his crystal pen and began writing on my skin. "That's not gonna work." I told him. "Then why did it work on Sharon and Bella who got hit with metal shards?" He asked, finishing the rune. I felt my energy replenish and my wounds slowly heal. "Well... at least now we know that you guys are special as well." Victoria commented, looking at Bella and Sharon. They smiled and Bella looked at me. "Now Robert, this is gonna be a lot of added stress to your life. So we need to set an appointment." She said with a joking tone, but seriousness was in her eyes. I let out a breathe and said "Yes ma'am..." Abigail chuckles and says "Seems like your personal therapist can now help all of us."
Bella gasped and said "Yes! That is a great idea! Here! My business card!" She then pulls out 5 business cards with her Snapchat and Instagram names as well as a picture of her smiling and looking professional. "You actually made business cards!? I was only kidding about that!" I told her. She just gave me an innocent look and said "I don’t know what you mean." "Whatever," I said, "we need to find the others. Now... where would they be holding them..." I asked. "What about the Chapel?" I heard my bro ask behind us. I got up and looked at the doors. Jonny was there with Natalie, feeling great with his idea. "The Chapel... perfect place for who I might think are behind this!" I said, standing up. My right wrist was throbbing, but I couldn’t care. I was running on pure adrenaline. "Wait!" Abigail said, rushing to me and holding my arm. "Heal..." Abigail mumbled. A white light spread over my arm and the pain faded to nothing.
"Thanks Abbey!" I said, kissing her temple. She blushed a bit and gave me a shy smile. "AWWW!" I heard Bella gush with Victoria. Sharon just chuckled and said "Finally had the guts, eh?" I glared at her and said "Shut up Ms. Flame."
