Chapter 29 - "Breakfast..."

Clara's PoV

'Ugh. Terrible neck ache' was the first thing I heard in the morning. I thought it was quite early but as I grabbed my glasses and I noted that it was half past 10.

'We fell asleep' I pointed out.

'That we did' he chuckled, but I noted that he had his glasses on already.

'How long have you been awake?'

'About 45 minutes'

'Why didn't you move me? You must be so uncomfortable'

'Quite the opposite actually - except for a terrible neck ache - but that's just from having slept sleeping sitting up. Otherwise I'm pretty comfy'

'What about Lilly? Did she come back?'

'Nah. I would say they made full use of an empty room' he smirked.

'Lovely for some' I mumbled, low enough that he couldn't really hear it. 'We missed breakfast'

'Did you wanna go and get some?' He suggested. 'Could be our first date' he chuckled.

'Date?' I snapped sitting up with widened eyes. 'Who said anything about a date?'

'You talk in your sleep Clara. I know you like me' he smirked.

'Oh my god. I talk In my sleep? Shit I dread to think what awkward things I said. Anything I said just ignore it because it would have been a complete load of rubbish --' I babbled, because that's what I do when I'm nervous but suddenly I watched Matts lips curl and push himself forward.

It was strange to say the least but not weird or uncomfortable - in fact it was quite the opposite. It was rather nice.

I felt his mouth make full contact with mine, kissing me gently.

I didn't know what to do about it because it was really nice but I've never kissed a guy before and I didn't want to make it awkward by doing it wrong,

Thankfully, I think he sensed how nervous I was about it, with his eyes still closed managed to move my arms to around his neck and placed his hands on my waist.

It's a good job that we were in a comfortable position on the sofa otherwise this wouldn't have worked.

Suddenly, he let go a little running his tongue access my bottom lip, and suddenly had his tongue in my mouth.

It was the weirdest thing but I didn't argue, as I literally shivered in what had to be some kind of pleasure when his tongue pressed against my tongue.

It just reminded me of the last time this happened and it was amazing.

'What? What was that for?' I panted.

'Just wanted to see what would happen. For someone who has never kissed a guy - you kiss pretty well' he chuckled, as his head was still pretty close to mine.

'How... How do you know I've never kissed a guy?'

'You told me so on the first day of term. Anyway you have kissed a guy. Me' he chuckled.

I leant forward to go in again, and I believe that he sensed that was what I wanted but the door flung open, making me jump out of my skin and him to lay back against the head rest relaxed.

I don't know how he managed to just relax like that because I was suddenly on edge knowing that Lilly was back and would be thinking all sorts of things.

She stormed in the room and began mumbling to herself, in a strop before glancing at us on the sofa.

'So this is where you were last night? Huh. Should of guessed' she snapped, as I looked over at Matt who was rolling his eyes so I assume that this was a mood she would get into often.

'Breakfast?'

'Agreed. There's a cafe down the road. It'll be more of a brunch but will be fun anyway' he shrugged, as we both stood up and headed towards the door. 'Did you want to come Lilly?'

'Some of us get up at normal times and eat' she scoffed.

'It is a Sunday. Who cares about time?' Matt snapped back hilariously, as we both left the room and headed awkwardly off campus.

'Wow. This is one hell of a breakfast' I said staring down at the Mushrooms, sausages, eggs, tomatoes, fried bread, hash browns and bacon, then looked over at Matts plate that was twice he size. 'Where are you actually going to put all that? Your the size of a leaf'

'I've told you. To run a marathon - in fact do any sports - you've got to eat. Sportsmen actually eat the most load of shit food'

I stayed silent then, and just looked down at my plate, before sipping on the strawberry smoothie I had.

'You can't make eye contact with me can you?'

'What?'

'Your not looking at my face. Your avoiding me' he pouted.

'I'm not avoiding you'

'I shouldn't have kissed you should I? We were getting on so well together and then we weren't talking and now I've missed you and now I've only gone and ruined it by making things awkward' he rambled, scolding himself.

'Hey. It's not awkward. But like you said that was my second first kiss and I just don't know weather I did it right or something. I can't be your girlfriend Matt because Id be rubbish at it. I've never had a boyfriend'

'Then we learn together?'

'Huh?'

'Me and Lilly were together for a few months but it never really got serious. I think that with the right amount of patience and persistence - we can' he mumbled.

'Are you asking me out?' I smirked.

'Not in so many words... But yeah. I guess so'

'But I'm the new kid. I don't want to bring you down. Your popularity is more important for you to get through all the rest of the years here surly?'

'Don't be silly. Your more important. Sounds stupid but since you've started here - you've been something different. The moment I saw you I knew you were a friend worth making'

'Maybe we could be together in private? See what happens? I don't want to ruin you if I don't have too' I mumbled.

'Huh? Oh. Maybe that's not such a bad idea. Hang out as friends in public but when we're alone who knows what will happen' he smirked.

'Yeah especially after the whole photo incident' I mumbled.

'Oh shit yeah. I totally forgot about that' he mumbled.

'What was you one of the third people in a long list of people to share that photo on Facebook?'

'Have you been stalking me? How was that even possible? I blocked you for over two weeks'

'I did it before you blocked me you idiot... Well?'

'Oh. Well I guess I wanted to be true and I was going to admit to it and then talk to you - but then the football team cornered me and j had to lie my way out of it. It's stupid now I think about it - I've got way more power I've them than they have me' he scoffed.
