Chapter 23 - "Suspensions..."

Clara's PoV

'Where are you going?' Matt grumbled walking past Lilly and into the room to pick up the fresh top and genes Clara had requested on discharge, still completely unaware of the final decisions that had been made.

'Suspended for 5 days, as if today. Won't be back until next week'

'Oh. You got in trouble then?' Matt mumbled, suddenly feeling really guilty about having wished it on her.

'Yeah. But I'm glad. I guess this his kind of been a wake up call. Of course spending a week with my Mum will be hell but hell that I deserve'

'Please don't make me feel sorry for you. I already do' Matt scoffed.

'Don't. Feel sorry for Clarissa. She's been excluded. So at least I won't have to deal with her shit anymore'

'Good god. How will Matilda cope?' Matt chuckled, making a light joke. 'Who will she follow around like a lost puppy now?'

'Anyway. Clara won't be sharing with me any more either. Clara doesn't want too anymore. Apparently she's frightened that I might drug her again... Even though it wasn't me who drugged her. But I don't blame her. My Mum tried to fight it but it was no use. We're to be separated for a while'

'But Clara loved sharing with you? She said so herself. It's better than being with casey'

'Oh well. Another room mate come and gone. That's just how it is' she shrugged. 'See you later' Lilly mumbled, throwing her bag over her back as Mr White appeared to escort her off campus and locked the room door.

'Whoa. Where have you been? Your seething again? I take it you spoke to Lilly?' Richard mumbled.

'Her and Clarissa' Matt scoffed, trying to calm down, going straight for the bathroom and wiped the blood off his knuckles.

'Fuck me. Tell me you didn't kill Clarissa? Or Lilly for that matter?' Richard panicked.

'No. I just gave Clarissa a nose bleed, I didn't mean to get violent but it just brought back all the shit that I went through in the past and now I'm going to be in trouble - so do me a favour and give these to Clara' Matt begged handing Richard a pile of clothes.

'Huh?'

'Please just do it? And look after Clara for however long I'm gone yeah?' Matt requested leaving Richard go nod, completely confused about what had just happened.

'So you just went to her room and punched the poor girl?'

'Poor girl? Mum she drugged Clara. She literally crushed drugs and put them in Clara's drink' Matt scoffed as he sat in the back of the car.

'If it's not you I'm picking up its your brother? Can I not have one child that goes to school and is normal?'

'You do. Rose is just fine'

'When she's not getting rubbish grades. You have the advantage in the fact that your smart. You could do so much better for yourself. You really don't need I go around punching people. Now you'll have a three day suspension on your record. That'll look great when it comes to university time'

'Oh please it would have been forgotten about by then. And anyway, when I explain the story my actions will be justified' Matt sulked, as he had now been cut off from the world completely. 'Can't I at least text Clara? I need to at least know how the girl that I punched a girl for is okay?' Matt pouted, as he stood in front of the bedroom door.

His x box had been confiscated, along with his phone, keys, telly and computer, for the days he was home.

'Tough. You should have thought about that before you punched someone. I don't condone violence Matt, just wait until your father gets word of this' she scoffed making him gulp. 'Just stay up here until your called'

'What am I supposed to do?'

'Read and old fashioned book. It'll be good for you' she mumbled.

'I'm blind'

'Don't play that game with me young man. Being blind in one eye doesn't stop you from texting or playing games or face booking. Entertain yourself' she snapped shutting the bedroom door, leaving Matt in the pit that he called a bedroom.

'Two suspensions and an expulsion in one week isn't too bad' Richard said as he sat at the end of my bed.

'No offence Richard but I barely know you. We're no where near as close as me and Matt, why are you here?'

'I'm just doing as he asked okay? You've got to respect that the poor dude punched a girl for you today'

'I would rather him be here than at home so I would have preferred it if he hadn't have punched anyone' I mumbled.

'What are you going to do about the whole Lilly thing? I mean I know you and Matt are close now but he isn't going to stop hanging around with her. They're best friends - have been for years'

'I know. And if I'm honest I don't want to think about it. Yeah I'm not really up for talking to Lilly at the moment. I loved sharing a room with her... But I just feel nervous about going back to live with her now'

'He does it in your best interest sweetheart and I have to say that I agree for now' Mum said as she came into the room.

'Mum? Why?' I scoffed.

'Because this whole thing will blow over eventually but until it does you need some space. You said yourself you want your own room and don't want to share with Lilly again so you've got your wish. I don't think that it means you can't see Matt or this lovely boy' she smiled.

'I don't want too. I want answers. All this happened and now I can't even have answers?'

'Just don't fight your Dad on this because you of all people know how stubborn he can be. He's just trying to help you. The more you fight the more that when your friends again he won't let you be'

'I wont hate her forever Mum' I mumbled. 'And I didn't want this to happen. I only said that I didn't want to share a room with her in haste: I didn't think it would actually or could actually be arranged'

'Your Dads stubborn?' Richard asked. 'I wondered where you get it from'
