Chapter 21 - "Parents..."
Chapter 21 - "Parents..."
Clara's PoV
'Hey. How the hell are so good scrabble?' Matt scoffed.
'It's a talent of mine'
It was kind of nice that he had bought a game with him for us to play. It kind of made me feel kind of glad to be friends with him.
'So. Have you spoken to Lilly?' I mumbled knowing as soon as I mentioned her name he would grit his teeth which is exactly what he did.
'Yes. She told them the truth - eventually. But I hate that this happened'
'It's not your fault. You wasn't even here' I pointed out, cupping his cheek.
'I wouldn't have let you go if I knew it was going to end up like this' he mumbled, leaning just a little closer, when the door slammed open traveling a very angry looking father.

It's safe to say that my Dads entrance to the hospital was not a quiet one.
He ranted and raved at everyone who walked by, demanding to know everything that was going on from the police and snapping at everyone who came near him.
'Look, maybe I'll go. I'll come and see you tomorrow maybe?' He said, suddenly dropping the deck of cards and leaving the room.
'Don't leave on my account' Mum said, smiling at him as my Dad had already stormed out of the room, threatening to sue the school for allowing this to happen.
Matt smiled, shaking Mums hand politely and ducked out of the room quickly.
'Sweetheart. Are you okay?' She smiled, kissing my forehead and hugging me carefully.
'I'm fine Mum'
'What did I tell you about being careful?' She chuckled.
'I don't know what happened Mum. We went shopping and then suddenly I was at a massive gathering and then I woke up here. I can't place the weekend properly or any of it that happened at all' I mumbled.
'Don't worry about it sweetheart. I think your Dads got it covered' she laughed as he stormed back in the room a sweaty, grumpy mess. He was red raw from having been shouting and I felt big time for whatever teacher or doctor or nurse that had just taken the brunt of all his anger.
'Hey Dad' I mumbled.
'Hospital? You better have your Fucking bags packed young lady because when you get discharged your coming home with us' he scoffed, storming out of the room again as Mum stood up to follow him,
I clutched into her wrist and looked at her with pleading eyes. 'Please Mum. I really don't want to leave OakHill' I begged her as she squeezed my hand and nodded.
Thus I was left alone to sit and wallow in my own thoughts about the events of the weekend and what had really happened.

'I'm not seeing any progress here. I really would rather not have to call the police back in... But if I have to I will' Mr White said, with Miss Reynolds the head teacher of the school trying to calm the situation.
She had just about stopped Dave from pouncing on the poor girls parents.
It was hardly their fault this had happened.
'I am very sorry about what happened to your daughter but I don't think our Lilly is to blame' the lovely woman of whom was Lilly's Mum said.
'It was your Fucking daughter who took her to the party. She took the drugs. She made all this happen. Then she only went and gave Clara and allergic reaction'
'That was hardly Lilly's fault. They barely knew each other' Mr White defended.
'Then the school should have done more. She's in your care here and you should make students aware of allergies and Illnesses' Dave swore.
'Look. I feel this whole situation can be solved. There's another girl involved of whose first offence this isn't. As for Lilly I believe a weeks suspension for having alcohol on campus is punishment enough' Mr White said, as Lilly's mum was astounded, and had already decided that she wasn't coming home for an easy ride.
'It won't matter because Clara is coming home with me first thing tomorrow morning. I'll be back for her stuff at a later date--'
'Dave sit down' Ellie scolded, stepping in politely to resurrect the situation that had become a total mess. 'Clara won't be coming home with us because she's happier here than she's been at any school her whole life' she said.
'And how would you know that?'
'Because I talk to my daughter on a daily basis - unlike some' she said throwing him a filthy look. 'I think suspension is punishment enough and I don't expect Clara to go unpunished. She still consumed the alcohol on campus' Ellie agreed.
'I think that's fair. A warning will be sufficient punishment enough' Miss Reynolds agreed.
'If she stays at this school I want her kept away from Lilly and any friends of hers. I don't want her sharing a room with this girl anymore' Dave snorted.
'With all do respect - she has already transferred rooms once this year - and they didn't do that officially'
'I do not pay the money I pay, for her to be unhappy'
'She is on a scholarship'
'Of which I am still throwing 10 grand at the school for. She's to be moved rooms and not to go near your daughter again' Dave scoffed. 'She doesn't want to share a room with her anymore'
'Is that true? Clara doesn't want too share with Lilly anymore?' Miss Reynolds mumbled.
'Just for now I think I agree' Ellie said, for once backing up her husband on the matter. 'This will all blow over and when it does that's fine and we can talk but until then maybe the girls should be kept apart. Clara did say how much happier she was but how she doesn't want to share with Lilly anymore. I'm sure she's not some kind of drug head but Clara is really nervous about having to go back to sharing with someone who did that' Ellie nodded, leaving the decision already made in everyone else's head.
'Fine'

The head stepped back in the room that was very tense but had settled a little.
She had to go and find the best way of doing this but there was a few spare spare rooms in the building that Clara could take.
'Decision made. As of tomorrow Lilly is suspended for 5 days, she isn't to come near campus for 5 days otherwise she risks that of expulsion. As of Monday, Clara will be given her own room... Meeting finished'
